Honestly, I know it is wrong but I dislike Islam a lot. Most Muslims are chill, but its not the people I dislike, it is the religion. Like honestly the crazy laws about making women cover up istg it is so wrong. The other day I saw some 4-5 year old girls and they were dressed head to toe in the blazing heat. Head coverings, long sleeves, no legs showing. Like humid sweaty heat. Those poor children, they are too young to even be sure of what religion they are, and they have to wear these uncomfortable pieces of clothing.
He didn’t tho. He made a movie with a very islamophobic woman that shows things that are completely prohibited in Islam and tries to say that those things are justified by the Quran (they aren’t). The verses were also portrayed on naked bodies. And it misrepresented all Muslim women as closet apostates who actually hate Islam and all Muslim men as uncaring and brutal. Edit: you people are pretty dense. I have not justified this or something. This comment was a clarification because the original commenter blatantly lied about the real situation. Also, this didn’t just „criticize“ the religion, such movies/videos directly lead to attacks on Muslims even deadly ones. Not a day goes by without someone spitting on a woman with a hijab. Use your brain.
The irony is that Comedy Central's attempt to avoid controversy created a controversy: by censorin' the two-parter, they proved that terrorist threats work.
Yes, and what is scary is that far-leftists have idolized the response that these terrorists got in the early 2000's, directly energizing the antifa movement here in the U.S. Our companies are now bending over backwards to appease these groups out of fear of violent retaliation.

You missed a HUGE PART of this story bro. During the controversy there was car found outside of the south park studios in NYC eith fumes coming out. Police were called and it was a malfunctioning weapon.. you know what kind they love to put in cars. It didnt hurt anyone and was disposed of. I will always remember this because my mother and sister were in manhattan at the time. About 5-7 blocks away smh. My mother worked in manhattan on 9-11 and had to walk to brooklyn and finally got a cab home there. There werent just threats. There were attempts... and matt and trey stood fearless in the line of fire for our rights... they have done more for our culture and nation than 99% of politicians, and were betrayed by their employers.
There was an attempt, think about that for a second You stand up for what you think is right and you get shot for it, this is what Comedy Central was afraid of. They didn’t want people dying and it was justified in this case, people have died before and this wouldn’t be an exception This isn’t about betrayal, it’s about making sure people don’t die because you pissed off extremist
As a muslim, i actually applaud matt and Trey for showing Prophet Muhammad. The rule is WE can't portray him or else we would start worshipping him instead of God. (Kinda like how Christians pray to Jesus). So if a non Muslim does it, at the worst it should only be seen as a dick move which matt and Trey are more than familiar with being. If you see a portrayal of Muhammad and your first thought is "kill those who made it", who do you think is sinning more?
Ancient Muslims had plenty of art of Muhammed. Furthermore many many Muslims clearly do worship him so kinda a moot point. The fact is the Muslims don't want him protrayed in any form of parody or artistic rendering becuase they don't want people to know what he actually did, which is rape 10 year old children while being a warmongering clut leader, so it would be really easy to make him look terrible in parody like how Southpark parodies other people and groups.
@@chrispy5249 they may be saying that muhammed is NOT the same as Jesus, but if they were to start depicting him then he would elevate to a similar level to Muslims as Jesus is to Christians. I could be wrong tho and idk if this makes sense lol.
The problem is the backwardness of the extremists. I'm also a muslim and Super Best Friends never offended me. A main part of worshipping in Islam is the fact that you can't pray to anyone except God and the ban of portrayals of our prophets are because of that. However, it's now doesn't makes sense even a little bit because these "praying to statues/images" are nearly over now. Also, the extremist views also banned anything about drawing humans because of that too. Also, why no extremists are angry from the fact that Jesus is literally a South Park character too? In short, there are many reasons that this controversy is very absurd, even for a Muslim that doesn't supports the backwardness of extremists.
Gotta love how western cultures get to have parts of them banned to respect other cultures but other cultures are free to do whatever the fuck they want even in open disrespect and in no way just comedic. No double standards here
Foreign comedies dont get broadcasted to America regardless so we don't care. American comedies do which is why foreign audiences get butthurt knowing how we actually feel about them.

Kyle's speech being the most back-handed criticism of Comedy Central's cowardice is probably a better ending to the episode than what the writers originally had on their storyboards.
I mean it’s not like it’s Matt or Trey’s call, they can’t hold the network hostage and publish whatever they want on it. Sure it makes Comedy Central a bitch but what do you expect them to do. Muslims I know would be fine with rational/respectful criticism of their religion. Well if I understood the video correctly, then he's dead now. He became an FBI informant after being imprisoned. And he probably left Islam. As someone who has also left, if he was able to warn Americans about the dangers of the religion I consider that a fair trade for his previous actions. People need to understand how corrosive and destructive this ideology is. Even liberals in this religion are more extreme than the far right in the US.
I’m still so sad that we haven’t heard Kyle’s speech in those episodes. But in some sort of way, that makes the idea of censorship in it even more clear
I watched 200 and 201 when they aired, and had it recorded on DVR for a while. I 100% thought the giant censored speech at the end was a joke, and it’s kinda funny that Comedy Central inadvertently sent an anti-censorship message to their audience that stuck with me for a long time.

So whoever made the decision to censor the episode might not have done it only to save himself, but potentially many others, who weren't in any position to make a decision. I agree with Zscout. That is the problem. They don't recognize this as Islam being the problem and keep defending the extremist because in the end they think they are better than everybody else on this world. Their religion is definitely the problem. They need to wake up and see their religion as being barbaric, outdated and ultimately prone to bring violence between them and others.

Most of these so called "As a ☪️uslim" are ex☪️uslims. They are undermining the problems that ☪️uslims create everywhere.

I’ve been a South Park fan for nearly 20 years. The stance they took on censorship will always be the greatest thing they ever done. They exposed scientology to masses, and they demonstrated the hypocrisy and danger of caving into terrorism.

Thanks for warning us of the dangers of piracy, I definitely WONT visit South Park uncensored for a 3 hour binge session with a bowl of Cheetos. It’s not anywhere on my agenda
There were some stories I saw online of people saying that South Park creators were giving out copies of the episodes outside the studio after it was banned to further spread the episode.
I don’t know if anyone pointed this out but I love how Scott’s chili con carnival looks like jokers theme park from Batman: the killing joke. Even down to cartman on a ride with videos of Scott playing is like the joker taunting commissioner Gordon. Scott’s throne is even like the one the joker has in that book. Really cool stuff
I guess the creators made fun of the killing joke and just did it better than the original story, which results in the show to one up the comic story.
As a Christian, I do get some interesting looks when I say how much I love South Park and this is why. South Park doesn't make fun of one group in particular, they make fun of everything and if you can't find humor in anything, then I feel sorry for you. South Park is pretty amazing.
