Again Chelsea, another inspirational video. I too was against the precut veggies until I sliced the tip of my finger off using a mandolin thinly slicing veggies😂.
I’ve been feeling sorry for myself because I am no longer bingeing and, like you, eating lots of boring food. Thanks for getting real about the choices we each make. Your video is a timely reality check! Love you! ❤
I went back to making the time, to meal prep. As soon as I quit doing that, my healthy meals went out the window. I was so hungry I grabbed a bag of chips! Instead of having a meal prepped container, where I had fruit, veg, and a protein. Which would of kept me full. Love your videos. Today I am prepping for Thurs until Sunday. So I can enjoy my weekend!
This video is so helpful. I am one of those people who thought boring food was something that I didn't want to eat all the time, but I realized how helpful it is to maintain consistancy. This was such a good reminder about trade offs. I love your videos. I've learned so much from them.
Hi! Checking in again after a few more months to share that I'm now down 20 pounds since April while following Chelsea's advice. Thanks for all you do!
I always give a thumbs up for your videos, Chelsea, even before I watch them, because I KNOW they're going to be helpful! Trade-offs are unarguably a part of every aspect of life, whether in the world of Economics or, in Science, the Law of the conservation of energy, and the unceasing continuation of Momentum! Everything has a cost, and according to Newton's second Law of motion every force has an equal and opposite force. You explaln things so well, and your focus on mindset is very welcome and so important. There are a whole lot of videos on You Tube which focus only on the chemical and biological aspects of good nutrition (which is, of course, important). But yours are pretty much the only ones which emphasise and provide guidance on how to identify and maximise the power of right thinking. As you have explained elsewhere, motivation alone is powerless unless it is energised by actively building good habits. I am so thankful to have come across your content.
Great video! I eat very simple as well but I do spend the time to make sure my freezer stays full of homemade pasta sauce, soups and veggies that are plentiful in the fall.❤
Broccoli or cauliflower and potatoes are my go-to. People don’t understand 😂😂 I do use gravy granules for convenience and I’m happy with that. It makes my food tastier and more accessible.
So many good points here! Would I love to be the type of person who meal plans something fun and different each day, buys all whole ingredients, and does everything from scratch? Sure, actually, I WAS that person. When I was struggling and chronically underemployed. Now I actually work, and I’m okay not buying the broccoli I have to chop up myself. Because honestly, there’s an equally good chance it’ll wilt and I’ll get delivery. Since I accepted this and simplified my meal planning I’ve actually ordered way less delivery and wasted way less food in my fridge: win win.
Once I changed my thoughts to "food is simply fuel for the body"...I'm just filling the tank, it was much easier...it doesn't have to be a gastronomic pleasure daily. This also makes the occasional meal out so much more special. After years of eating this way, I now much more enjoy the simplicity and food itself.
One of my biggest struggles is the trade off of more simple foods, and it creating more work for me as a mom because the rest of the family won't want to eat it (so it results in multiple meals being made instead of just one). I am perfectly content with simple, but my kids and husband don't like the "boring" food. I STILL haven't figured a way around this yet, and it usually ends up with me giving in and not doing what is best for my goals, in order to make the majority of the family happy.
@@woundedheart3788I have a non vegan husband and very picky non vegan son. My son won’t eat anything he doesn’t like, he’s an athlete so I get worried when he doesn’t eat.
What problem do I get from saying: I don't care if you think my food is boring. Make your own food. No you won't die of hunger. Or I can let them walk all over me, gloat over the fact that they win again.
@@mnlw1363 I don't think it's a matter of "winning". It's very different when you have been eating right along with your family nutritionally bankrupt foods and then one day decide WE are all going to eat like mom. I don't think any one person should dictate to others how to eat no matter how nutritionally superior it may be. It creates resentment. Each individual has to determine their own path. It's differtent when you have very small children or like Chelsea, she raised them to eat this way. It's better to look at it from the perspective of how we can work together to get all our needs met. It will look different in every family. Depends on numerous factors.
Being a whole food vegan ( and my health ) is worth so much to me that the trade offs are totally worth it. I couldn't believe it when I saw what you have for lunch because I have that for my dinner, except I have cauliflower with my broccoli :)))
The last thing your diet is is ‘boring’. It’s full of textures and flavours. All that marketing of fast foods has conditioned our brains to believe they are treats that we’d rather eat whilst our bodies are screaming ‘please, NO!’
Thank you for your great videos. I realized I wasn’t eating enough each meal, causing myself to snack and then into a bad cycle. So thank you for your great advice!
Wow, so inpactful! I realized how i am making the choices in most aspects of my life. And sometimes in my weight loss, health journey. Now i will have my eyes open and my brain accepting of the questions. Thank you, Chelsea😍
WOW This video was mind blowing! As simple as it may be but the way you explained it was extremely helpful in how we should view the steps chosen to achieve our goals! thank you!!
I watched a previous video where you recommended to choose the veg that you like most. I know have a huge fresh garden salad every night with tomato, lettuce, cucumber, celery and avo with salt and lemon juice, with a portion protein of the week that I prep on a Monday. The protein will be chickpeas, beans or meat (I'm not vegan :) cooked ins stock/sauce (no oil) and lost of shredded cabbage, zucchini, leek, mushrooms, spinach, etc. I love it! Not boring and saves time and avoid temptation. Just struggling to get the exercise routine going 😅 Thank you for your videos. It is really a real life solution..
Hello, great video. So useful! I am ok with boring food, easy and quickly made... Not prepared for precut vegetables who come in plastic though. But I don't do take away. Also I don't have kids at home anymore so it makes it easier...I work a lot though and I don't workout (only walking) and I am not prepared to do it because I just hate it 😊 I lost 25 pounds so far and need to lose 10 more but I seemed to have reached a plateau since almost a year 😢
I love the logic and breakdown of this video. It is so hard sometimes! I was doing so well last school year, and then summer hit with my kids out of school, and I feel like all my progress back-peddled. Now I feel like I am starting back at level 0 again. It sucks, but I just am telling myself that it was a learning process that I will make sure doesn't happen again next summer. The hard part is feeling that I am a year behind now in making progress towards my goals by back-sliding. It is what it is though, and I just have to start hitting it hard again to recover.
Your meals are whole, healthy, nutrient dense and look delicious!! Which is the complete opposite of boring. I eat mostly plant based with an integration of eggs and fish and I find myself craving the healthy options over any processed nonsense. Super video and it really allows people to put the blame inward when they are making poor food choices for themself. Such as choosing to watch shows, scroll on their phone and not to use brain power to create and plan healthy meals. Stupendous work!! 😊
I have no problem with boring meals. Reduces decision making, just like having a limited wardrobe :) Our particular trade offs are that we live in a bit of a food desert. Long drives to the affordable supermarket so we can’t load up on more than a week’s worth of fresh veg as most don’t keep super long. There aren’t that many precut options where we shop but you’ve taught me the value of rolling prep. I pop in the shredding blade and shred big containers of carrot and cabbage every few days. I do load up on longer keepers like carrots and cauliflower (I happen to love both of them steamed) and do keep tons of frozen broccoli on hand. But fresh greens are always a challenge! I am also slowly reducing the amount of unhealthy snacks that come into the house.
❤❤❤Thanks so much for sharing Chelsea. You have made more sense than any plant base RUclipsr. I have watched you make everything easy and simple ways to prep meals and keep it simple. I lost a lot of weight on a plant-based diet a few years ago and got rid of diabetes and high cholesterol And had so much more energy and felt great. My husband got throat cancer and we was always running to the hospital and doing this and doing that I’m not making a priority for myself eating a plant base lifestyle still but I was eating vegan junk food, and I gain some of the weight back Now I’m trying to get on the track of losing this weight again and I’m only gonna be watching your channel. I think when we get in the habit watching too many RUclipsrs doing this and doing that it gets us all confused so I will be watching your RUclips videos on my weight loss journey. I’m very lucky right now not to be on any medication other than Copaxone for my MS I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2003 and doing great. I’ve been vegetarian most of my life and become vegan six years ago now I am eating whole food plant and that’s the lifestyle I prefer. I feel better eating a whole food base Lifestyle diet I noticed in some of your videos I’ve been watching your husband has MS as well. I think the only thing that has really helped me is living a clean life eating healthy, consistent, taking my copaxone medication and walking every day and using the rebound little trampoline and going to the YMCA for swimming and walking in the pool, thank you so much for taking the time to teach us all the right way to eat healthy and understand this way of eating I really enjoyed this video today. You’re the first one that ever explained it the way you did and thanks a lot, hope you have a blessed day❤❤❤
Thank you for breaking this down. I would love more content like this. ❤
Again Chelsea, another inspirational video. I too was against the precut veggies until I sliced the tip of my finger off using a mandolin thinly slicing veggies😂.
I did the same with a sharp chef’s knife. I sliced off a corner of my finger. It took 4 months to grow back to normal.
My husband struggles with repetitive meals and food being boring. I always tell him, not every meal has to be a taste adventure!
My husband is the same! I'm quite happy with more boring and healthy meals but he always needs something special 😅
I agree the trade offs are worth it and eventually you start to crave the boring foods!!
I’ve been feeling sorry for myself because I am no longer bingeing and, like you, eating lots of boring food. Thanks for getting real about the choices we each make. Your video is a timely reality check! Love you! ❤

Amazing content as usual. You are an inspiration. Keep it coming, beautiful. 🤩
Hugely helpful Chelsea… you’re amazing… thank you for all your hard work and for all the amazing content you make
Well done. I appreciate you making this content available for the public. Best wishes!

This is why it’s so easy to stay stuck.😩 Maybe I need to make an appt for a consult. The answer for me is not clear. Just me?

So helpful!! Love your content! Thank you so much ❤
Keeping it real, like always. Love it.
This video was helpful to me, thanks 😊
I’m very fortunate as I prefer the flavors of “simple and boring “. I keep a freezer stocked with frozen veggies and fruits. ❤
Potatoes and broccoli to me are life! Not boring at all 😊
Wow so much to think about. Love your train of thought - keep up the mental stuff it’s always a push pull.

I also have this problem..non vegan husband and a picky daughter makes for a tough time..

Chelsea I love your meal preps and tips. Tysm for your amazing advice.
Such a great video, giving us a lot to think about
This is one of your BEST videos Chelsea!! 🎉❤ They're all great, but this one was amazing 👏
It's the most logic I've heard on a YT vid in a long time... glad i found this channel. Fantastic explanation.
MAy God continue to bless you real good Chelsea
