It is one of the prettiest places in Glenbrook! The rope seems to come and go depending on who thinks it is necessary 🤷‍♀️
Glad you enjoyed the video 😊

Awesome video.. thanks for the insight and inspiration too
Just completed the Red hand cave hike today - in Glenbrook .. was inspired by the history behind the cave.. more inspired that it’s literally 15 mins from Penrith.
Do you have a video on the cave?

Red Hand Cave is a nice walking circuit, even more so when they finish the track improvements. No, we don't have a video on the cave as yet, we are waiting on the track upgrades to be completed.

Love Kanukabrook! If you want risk your life by holding onto a shrub root you are able to climb up and jump off the top rock!

We took advantage of one of the last afternoons of daylight saving time, a magical time to be there. Might pass on the leap of faith...

Thank you for this video and for acknowledging the name of the falls as Grey Hat Falls. I discovered and named the falls way back in 1970. It was beautiful, undisturbed and pristine back then, no tracks. Camped in the overhang cave many times during my youth. The floor of the cave was covered in soft white sands. All gone now unfortunately, badly eroded since the track went in many years later. If you happen to go back sometime, make the trip up to the top of the falls (climb up from the beach on the western side). The solid rock valley formation up there is amazing.
I last visited the falls last November. Here's a link to the video I made of that visit. My story is in the description.

      Hi "Spud" !
I can imagine how exciting it would have been to have discovered these falls. They are beautiful!
Would love to know why you decided on "Grey Hat" for their name, and if you have any photos of them from the 1970s? I have noticed just how much some falls change from having large pools at their base to becoming very silted up and shallow. I'd be thrilled to see photos of local attractions such as this from the past if you have any!
Camping in the overhang would have been superb, and I've often said falling asleep to the sound of the falls would be wonderful.
I may have to go back and have an explore above the falls sometime!

@@shoesonmyfeet6056 wow ... how do you know my old high school and bushwalking nickname was Spud? Did you see the dedication I wrote on the cave wall in charcoal back in 2010? (faded away now but I have a photo of it). The earliest photos I have are from 1979 (I have them scanned). Yes, there is a good reason why I named the falls Grey Hat Falls but it's a long story. I am happy to share my photos and other stories of the falls with you (like why is the water in the pool coloured blue). Just need to know how we can make contact.
