I was just womdering while watching.Do you maybe know if this can be used for a solar tracker? I would appriciate your findings and answer. Oh dont worry.... my gloves are also punctured. Thats life...

I would say not suitable for that purpose, there are standalone light sensors for that; this device includes a light sensor inside but doesn't exactly do what you need; there are some nice DIY solar tracker videos on youtube based on multiple solar sensors in a shaded array to infer the sun position in the sky

i see they say these can do ac or dc, i watched a guy in thailand wire one direct to a car battery, i ordered 24vdc yet it has a bridge rectifier, wont work on dc .

you can attach your source and load bypassing the rectifier
