It uses IR for night surveillance, instead of disturbing the plants with white light.

Use a CSI->HDMI cable, I've had several metres in the past with the original Omnivision sensor. There are 1m flat flex cables available for the Pi5/Zero I've used several of those and they work well.

Afraid not, it is only compatible with any Raspberry Pi computer that has a CSI connector.
