We lived in Rabaul 1978-1980. Was a beautiful place to live (and as a kid) before it was decimated by the volcano eruptions. Very special memories. My brother and his mates used to go into the tunnels and would come back to the house with all sorts of war memorabilia (which sadly he had to leave behind). On one occasion he brought back a live bomb. An amazing place. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Hedgehog Rabaul is a very interesting place and the tunnels looked amazing. I was hoping to be able to get into the tunnels but we were told it wasn't safe due to unfriendly locals.
Hi Megan, thanks. It was a Princess cruise (11 days) from Brisbane to Brisbane. The destinations and more information can be seen on my 2 other videos about the same cruise - Kiriwina and Conflict Islands (Papua New Guinea) and Alotau (Papua New Guinea) Traditional Dancers. We booked and our cruise was delayed for several years (covid) so I am unable to give you a current price and also the fee structure has changed with different packages being offered. Thanks for watching and I have lots of other cruise videos including Hawaii, Mediterranean, Suez Canal, Panama Canal, Caribbean ......and more. Also we have videos about our caravan travels. Happy travels.
I was born in Rabaul. Thank you for the images.
