Without question. I've gone out of way to distance myself from any Republican anything in my life, but I've also lived around countless immigrant and refugee communities over the years. The pure chance location of a uterus at the right time doesn't magically determine someone's value, but the garbage choices they make in life absolutely do.

My 17-year-old daughter made a joke a couple of days ago. She said the Republicans would probably write a bill changing the name of the USA to The United States of Trump. I chuckled to make her feel good about her joke but cried on the inside about what the future might hold for the next generations. I'm so glad I can look her in the eyes and tell her I'm voting with her future in mind.

I remember talking to my daughter and her friends about the 2020 election, and most of them could easily see Trump for who he was. It's baffling to think that 4 years later, most MAGA voters know less about Trump than the kids did then.

I thought the point was to get the senators on record. Not to actually pass this bill. I want to see the vote in the Senate. I don't care that the House won't see it. If the House members won't vote on it, the Democrats can use that too.
He, who wrote the bill (Sen. Lancaster) already stated NOT to vote for his own bill ...
For Schumer, that is his goal. He doesn't need to "handle" the House because Jeffries is a capable leader. The GOP senators have the choice of voting for or against the bill that will bite them one way or the other. The House just ensures that Biden doesn't get the blowback of a veto or lack thereof because it would never reach his desk.
Yes no gerrymandering to save them. Hopefully the house failures feel a nasty back blast too, no matter how lop sided their districts are.
The Democrats in The House can try and force the bill to the floor and use that to target Republicans that did not support bring it to the floor.

What I mean is that the Democrats should do more to call out the fact that the other party in America is full of hot air. The Republicans love to take all the credit all of the time. The democrats should go on the attack, and state their resume while poke holes into the other side's narrative. I think Shumer's move is overdue.
