I honestly didn’t know he had the statues and I just loved the work. Now I have one figure and while it is limited, I’m glad to have oe so I can potentially get the rest!

Shout out He-Man! That’s where I got my start too. Still collect He-Man, and Kaws. Great video and collection! What gets me about people bashing the OE’s, is no one really knows how many are actually made. As far as I’m concerned they’re still hella limited cause lots of people still taking L’s on each release. And the term OE seems to be open to interpretation in the art world, correct me if I’m wrong. When the first standard companions and dissecteds became 8” companions I slept on them cause I thought Open Edition meant they’d always be available, and I wanted to wait to grab them when money was better. They sold out quick and I haven’t seen him drop them again. I guess since they’re “open” he could do a restock, but he still hasn’t... Open Edition is an odd term... shit is still quite limited it seems. Just my two cents, and I appreciate you taking the time to share yours in these vids. 👍

The museum at Fort Worth in Texas had them 1st, then MOMA, Medicom released them over seas, First worth again, Yorkshire Park in the UK also back on MOMA. But they definitely made a certain amount. After the regular companions the next couple of releases the quantity were a lot less. I remember when he released the Small Lie set I can think, he mentioned "Limited edition." Once it dropped it was available for a bit and people was upset just because they thought it was limited (aka I can't make big $ off of them) The word limited can be taken different ways. They bashed him for that which I thought it was crazy. My example to a lot of people was - McDonald's release a "limited edition" cup. But people seem to miss that McDonalds is world wide and they have thousands of locations. So how limited is it? Same concept. At the end of the day they are limited to a certain extent. And like our love for He-Man toys they made a shit load as well, but how many do you find these days in its packaging or in good to pristine condition? The prices are insane for them now. Some people will never see and under that.

Dude 100% respect, I love the art he makes and have for 5 or more years now but only started collecting recently because I’m in high School. I think people that shame oe collectors for ruining the value of their limited editions are just awful because it shows that at the end of the day they want it for the money and not for the joy it gives them. sure it probably does give joy, but I don’t ever plan on selling my statues because it’s something I love and find worthy of my investment.

idk what happened but I got ghosted on one of my orders...smh, got the brown figure on Wednesday and then Thursday I snagged the grey one, was charged for it, and never got a shipping email or anything for it..ugh

Yea disposable white will last you a while. Just make sure you check closely if its actually dusting. You want to avoid any pressure on he painting. Its like putting a feather on a baby face, you know the feather is soft but you still pass it gently lol.

You have a nice little collection. I agree. I always seem to like the brown the most out of the three colors. The gray is the second best. The seems more for people who have that type of aesthetic in their home. As I could see the black going well if you are trying to make it fit in with your decore.

Definitely keep them, you never know when you will be moving them around or if you have to sell them down the line.

Do you use a makeup brush to dust off your original paintings?
I use a dust Swiffer very gently.
