    I'm positive the auto industry is not happy with you showing us that wire trick. We were supposed to pay a highly trained, state of the art automotive technician $159.00 to have that hose replaced. However since you showed us that tip we saved $159.00 and learned how to do all the other hoses to boot!!!! Thank You

    I swear I heard a vacuum leak in the background through the entire video .... :D
    Great tip! One of those, "Why didn't I think of that" tips. Thanks!

    I tie a string to the end of the bad hose, so that when I pull it out I can leave the string in place to have a physical record of how the hose was routed. Then I tie the end of the new hose to the string (with tape over the end so nothing gets inside) and pull the string back, dragging the new hose into place. Sometimes it doesn't help at all, other times it makes the job so much easier.

      Better off using standard wire instead of string it's a little more durable and won't break

    you could always cut a good amount tape it to the other one and it should feed itself through as your pulling it out from the other side. less hassle

    I put a hose barb (plastic or brass on old end of hose you 1st took off, pull the other end off the Vacuum solenoid which drags the new hose where it belongs. You can either twist off the new hose from the barb or trim t off. Insert New Hose on the barbs you took the Old One off anf your DONE!

    I have a question for you about vacuum hoses :
    Do you know if the length of a vacuum hose affects the reactivity of a fuel pressure regulator ?

    • @realfixesrealfast
      @realfixesrealfast  6 лет назад

      No it should not affect it. That is as long as you haven't added anything to it through some sort of "tee" connector.

    Nice but I would just go straight from solenoid to vacuum connection, more straightforward and doesn't interfere in with anything.

    Of course it simple for everyone else on the planet but what year is this vehicle & what is it because mine certainly does not have that. and I’m going nuts trying to find this damn leak. I’ve been searching for days

    • @ufoabove
      @ufoabove 2 года назад

      Any luck on that? My check engine light comes on with small evap leak. I'm going to try smoking it with a diy smoker I made to try to find the leak

    • @maniacalmonster2293
      @maniacalmonster2293 2 года назад

      @@ufoabove Im just now seeing this wow but yeah, I had luck. I found the leak. I tried the smoking test also, I made my own little homemade smoker but I don't think it was working because the system was closed or w.e. and it was windy asf for like a week strait when trying, go figure. So I got a little caught up, confused & pissed off on that situation so with my last attempt I just put some soap and water in a spray bottle and started spraying every inch of the car that I could see. When I was just about to give up, the very last place I sprayed of course was after 45 minutes of spraying n looking.... I sprayed down the exhaust pipe the muffler and catalyst. Holy soapy bubbles Batman! I finally saw them fuk'n bubbles lol. Started bubbling around the weld of where the exhaust pipe meets the muffler.
      You find yours?
