Golu Devta Mandir is considered an avatar of Shiva as Gaur Bhairav. He rides a white horse and is considered the one who always does justice. They say, if you ask with a clear conscience, he fulfills every wish. He is the Isht Devta of the region and also Kul Devta of many people here. You could also see him as the presiding deity of the Kumaon hills.
This temple is situated at Bhowali, which is near Nainital.
Nainital is at a distance of 23.3 kms from Kathgodam and 30.7 kms from Haldwani, with Kathgodam lying en route to Nainital from Haldwani. After disembarking at Kathgodam, one can opt for local or state-run buses to Nainital. Taxis are also available on personal and shared basis from Haldwani and Kathgodam.
