Thank you! It's especially helpful when I adjust dungarees for customers, cause I only need very basic measurements! And I know the struggle of a big meal 😅
Hi Sofia can you help please, I've got some Lucy and Yak Juni Jumpsuit: ORGANIC DENIM - Mid Wash Blue and they are not comfortable as the waste to the shoulders is too short so it ends up pulling down on my shoulders and actually is painful by the end of the day, feels like a shame as I like them but I wanted comfortable clothes and this is the opposite. Any tips would be gratefully received and I saw from the reviews after, I'm not the only one to have this problem. Many thanks Sara
Thanks for uploading this! I just recently bought a pair of petrol blue 'Atlas' dungarees from L & Y because I wanted to custom paint them, but was a little disappointed that the current fit is... a little frumpy on me? Do you think this alteration would work OK with these (heavy twill cotton), as your material looks potentially a little lighter?
Also I really love the addition of buttons for multiple sizings! So clever - most tutorials like this have you sowing the elastic into the casing permanently which is far less functional for those pms days ;- )
Hi Claire! So glad you enjoyed the tutorial - I'm afraid I've never owned a pair of their Atlas but this works great with Originals, which have a heavier fabric than the ones I used in the video. It's hard to say without seeing them but I reckon it should work, might be just a touch bulkier though. Depends on how much extra fabric is around your waist, too!
@@sewingwithsofia5130 Hi! Popping back to say I ended up following this tutorial and it worked amazingly well, even on the heavier fabric and with a standard machine needle :-) I even found special buttonhole elastic where the holes are already made to keep life simple hehe!
So you make buttonholes on one end of your elastic band, and add a button to the other end. That way, once the elastic is inserted into the dungarees, you can adjust how tight it is day-to-day :) hope that helps!
Putting the button holes onto the elastic is SUCH a good idea! Gives you more ways to wear them. So smart.

Hey Sofia, we love this! :)
Thank you so much!!
I love this idea, I might have to give it a try

Hi! I am so scared to do this to my new dungaree myself (I just got a sewing machine) do you still offer alterations, would love to have this done!

I want to do this but I’m not understanding the end with the buttons and how it works and we’re in supposed to sew them?

I love this! I really want to do this to my Trios, but i'm really new to sewing and scared I will mess them up :/
Well I'm always happy to answer any questions, but I do also offer to do it for people for £20 plus shipping :)
Hey, so sorry I thought I'd replied to you! Honestly I think anyone could do it, but I do offer to do it for people if you like :)
