scott dudeeeee the build is looking quite nice my man, I knew the quads would be dropping like flies with the new wheel set. It looks good on you too so trust in the process you’ll adjust 🙌. i just went down in crank size to 114’s myself after switching to a 20 for now until hopefully next nationals and i actually love how it makes every trick feel more than the 125’s. your riding is looking sweet though my man, keep it up and i’m glad the hub is workin. who knows i might convince to come to the dark side of a 20 inch soon if you’re working in freestyle, i’ve got some sweet part advice for you haha.
this was just what i needed my man highlight for me - that caught flip under was INSANE - treyside4 looked too easy - br 3.5 nuts nuts nuts - 180 backflip-overflip was textbook - wtf was that no spin secret side flip?! is that an nbd? looked alien dude. loved it! qq - what length cranks are you riding? I just got a pair of those same Eiffels in 118 that i'm messin w/
@@jrnxf Thanks dude! This was my second no spin secretsideflip. I’m fairly certain that Mario bel had landed it before me. Yeah I’m running the 118 eiffels and absolutely love them. They’re super light and with the slightly smaller size I find it easier to flip and cleaner to land.
Yes dude!! Great that you're still so motivated ❤️ There was some absolute bangers in here! I was so thrown by the BR 3.5... i dont think I've ever seen that before and it came around so easy for you!! Enjoyed every aspect of this one as usual! I see the lav mic, what wireless mic have you got it connected to? Been eyeing the DJI mic 1 or 2 setup myself but havent been able to justify the money yet and worried about how securly they will attach for riding etc. Keep it up man!!
Thanks for the comment, Sam! I've never been more motivated haha. As for the mic, it's actually the same one I used for the whole "Training For Unicon" Series. It's a Tascam DR-10L, which is actually a wired mic that I just shove into my pocket. it feels similar to a bulky phone in my pocket so I don't mind it too much.
@@scottjulian6517interesting, so do you just have a seperate audio file and sync the audio in post? It sounds crisp anyway! I wonder if there is a decent way to mount it to the une and have the mic near the wheel for optimal pedal sounds for a street edit 🤔
@@doamono Yup, I have to manually sync the audio file up to the video. Not the easiest solution by far but I haven't minded too much. I've actually thought about getting some nice une sound design made but I don't think it would ever work with a wired setup :/ I know you love your sound design though haha. I always appreciate the attention to detail you put into the sound design in both Alex's and your recent edits. Makes the experience so clean.
@@scottjulian6517 thought that might be the case, I guess if you film everything in one clip you only need to sync audio once then nest the audio and video together and cut it up afterwards. I'm definitely keen on having better une sounds with less wind and other background noise. A une mounted mic would be sick! Strap or tape it under the saddle somehow and maybe a cable lav mic down through the seat post and frame to just above the wheel. I dunno! One day I'll get a mic and try some stuff out... I hope you're planning/starting to film your call out response to Levi? 😉
Class video! Found your thougts on the progression in freestyle very interesting. Would love to hear which types of the freestylish tricks you draw inspiration from and see how it looks when you combine it with your riding!
Admittedly I've been slow to work on my freestyle haha. I got super pumped about this wheelset and been trying big flip tricks since then. But I do draw a lot of inspiration from the control and flow of freestyle lines. Making everything sewn together in a line rather than each trick looking really hard and separate from the line itself. On a physical level, I think this way of doing tricks is really useful for conserving energy in a comp. If you make each trick transition into the next, you're not working the unicycle as hard and pushing against the momentum you've created. Besides that, it just looks really sweet haha. I think Jack's style of line is a really good example of this.
Totally agree with you on that! That is what (among a lot of things) I like the best about Jack's riding! I talked with Daniel Ackerman on this exact subject a while ago and he said this way of thinking influenced his riding a lot (even though he drew the inspiration from skating, but it works in a similar way i guess). It's very interesting at least🤩
Good to see you. The new rim looks great!
Amazing dude! Can't wait to see more episodes! That edit was SO SICK. My favorite had to be the secret-side flip
Got me cracking up, love this dude! I could watch these every day
love these style edits man!
Not a single trey underflip idk why I even watch this content anymore
I look forward to seeing you at the next Unicon!
@@shuheikawai Yeah, I’m looking forward to seeing you there too!
Great video
This is awesome dude, stoked to see you're still getting after it post-Unicon. The no spin side flip looks so sick.
I love Scott Julian!

How lighter is your setup now compared to your last one?
