This video is so sad. I feel so bad for him. Everyone failed him and he failed himself too. I think he wanted he wanted power because it was something he could control. Hayden and matt portrayal Is amazing.
most people see the story of anakin skywalker and assume he simply chose the path he fell on. Born a slave who had to prove his worth. One half of a being sharing a singular body between the two. The Jedi order cementing and fumbling his fall. He was judged and outcasted from day one. always having to prove himself. Then when he becomes the HERO of the republic and its poster boy, the jedi are still unable to give him any kind of relief for all his hard work. He stood for what a jedi should be like his son. The people matter more than the politics. All the while the other half began to grow. The anger, the hate, the self hatred, and of course, the cold. Vader inched his way into control bit by bit, influencing anakins emotions like how anakin influenced vader by return of the jedi or when facing kenobi or any other bit of his past. Anakins quote "i want more, but i know i shouldnt", as well as his morbid declaration "what have i done?". this leads to the point that three women defined his life. His mother, his apprentice, and his wife. As his mother died and his apprentice was falsely accused and gone, he panicked and choked when his wife's life was on the line. Finally, Kenobi himself. The father figure who couldnt be. The best friend with limits. The brother who couldnt understand. He was the perfect jedi of the current republic, but even he couldnt disconnect the love he held for anakin. Even still, he let himself and his decisions get weighed down by jedi dogma. HE tried to act like anakins best advocate and greatest challenge. Anakin couldnt confide in him in the end, and felt like he was always in competition with the man who was supposed to be "the closest thing he had as a father". From there luke represents the softness of padme. The unwavering will and warmth that always supported him. Thus, the return of anakin skywalker could come. He was no longer a prisoner in a disabled mans body. he was the chosen one. The poster boy of both The Empire and The Republic brought balance to the force. Your video shows this perfectly.
