@@maxx_vdv4960 Not really. The b variant has a cam screw to adjust the hammer position which is useful for setting the sweep hand zero position and the minute counter intermediate wheel is not attached to the top bridge. Otherwise there's no major differences
@@hal0eight allright thanks a lot! going to try to dissasamble a movement for the first time. thank you for the very good video!, could you make a assamble video too? sorry for my bad english.
I think, from memory, the minute counter wheel was broken and possibly the center wheel assembly. I have quite a few movements in reserve and occasionally scrap one so I have parts for customer repairs.
Geday, I make them. www.ebay.com.au/itm/VTA-6170-Movement-HOLDER-for-SEIKO-6105-6139-6119-6309-6145-MORE/292898300532?hash=item4432196274:g:w1UAAOSwdZBcKyUD
I've been waiting for someone to do high-quality vintage Seiko teardown videos for ages. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
that was great. easy to follow. could you please do a reassembly video of the 6139 movement? thank you
I'll try and do some this year, hard to film well.
That what an very good video, but how do I know if i got an a or b movement?
I got a seiko 6139-6012
Says on the automatic framework bridge, 6139A or 6139B. Generally anything made after 1971 is the B variant.
@@hal0eight does it really matter when I try to use this video as a tutorial for serviceing?
@@maxx_vdv4960 Yeah that's fine, go for it.

Hi, what kind of a movement holder is that. Looks like a printed one ?
What exactly makes this particular movement a scrap movement? You mentioned something about the minute gear system?

Got it...finally!
Where would be the best place to find a screw for the balance cock? Do you know if Seiko-dealers have AM pieces in stock? :-)
They have ALL the AM parts!
where did you get the holder?
