Lets goooooo, my first feature on the channel. Thank for the round my man
Way to represent Canada! Nice Swing and good game!
@@leogoku13 Lets gooooooooooo
Bryan Adams. Also, Canadian. Double win!
@@tylercraft2193 Thank you sir. Parred the first 5 then fell apart a bit. The Thai grass is so different to chip out of
@@GrahamWinship Not sure how you guys managed to get any putts in on those slopey greens!
"My playing partners enjoyment was more important than me scoring well". This is a great thing to remember when I'm losing my temper and being miserable to play with because I'm having a bad day. Thanks Playa. 🙏
Incredibly relatable round - no one escapes the tuba. Just glad to see you swinging a club again baus!
As soon as I opened this I was thinking I really want to hear the tuba
Thank you for posting the video, you will be back in no time at all, I played yesterday I used a lot of your philosophies and I’m slowly getting better, thank you 1 million times for all of your help! I had a six week layoff because of COVID-19, it really kicked my butt!
The future will be bright playa.
I can relate. After loosing a lot of weight, i completely lost my golf swing and blew out from 16 to a 22 handicap. Absolutely dejected from the game, I considered giving up, but got some lessons and kept grinding. Last week had an 81 off the stick in my club comp. Wadda game, wadda life!
Loved seeing the caddie holding back the leaves on the tree at the 7th for Graham to hit his iron shot. Matt, always a joy watching you golf and just goes to show how much an injury / layoff affects a person's game. That's why I always tell my wife that I have to get out and play all the time!
Missed these videos. Taking your advice - common sense golf, GIOTG, - has brought me from 105 to 90 in the space of a couple of rounds. Keep the content coming!
Great to have you back, Playa. Golfing RUclips has stunk these last few weeks.
Agreed
Nice to have you back Matt ⛳
Happy to see you returning. Love your videos, #1 on RUclips in golf videos
Watching your return to the Way of the Playa will be glorious, thank you for bringing us along Matty
I just want to say thanks for asking more videos. It's really refreshing watching you and your approach to the game. Been a big fan from day one.
How apt this video is at this time for me. I took 6 weeks off post hip replacement surgery. For the last week I have been chipping and putting again. I am not sure how long I will have to wait before I can hit full shots, but I am finding being back on the course therapeutic. They told me I had to walk each day, but they didn't say where !
Thanks for sharing round. I can relate as last year I was recovering from a broken shoulder. I lost 2 full clubs. The good news is it does get better. This year was my best ever. It’s hard shooting infinity!
Welcome back Playa. 90, 80, 70 it’s all part of the journey. Hope you still love the game and continue videos.
Dude your videos are so relaxing and full of information, mixed with you and your caddies good sense of humor it’s a great watch
These last two videos were very refreshing to watch and enetertaining. Thank you Matt.
Oh yeah baby, Matt’s back 😁
I really like your advice about assessing how your distances are on the actual day:
A bit different from yourself due to your break, but over the last two/three weeks of horrible weather in Scotland I’ve been working like mad on a swing change that seems to have gained me 15/20 yards on each iron carry distance but my driver has mostly stayed the same.
Finally got a round in two days ago, and on all of the front 9 par 4’s my approach shots were landing 15/20 yards beyond the green because I was hitting the same club from the same spot as I would have last month without thinking about my new yardages.
@14:54 the dramatic release for our intrepid playa, stress free golf is a beautiful thing to behold
Great to see you back, you helped me so much with my own game and how to think through every shot
Man your videos are really just on another level. You are by far the best RUclips golf channel
Thanks to you and a few others I now regularly hit in the mid 80's
Yass that’s what I like to hear
The comeback is on. It started with that attitude shift on the back nine. The way of the playa will eventually bring you back to under par.
I like how you include all of the warts of playing golf in your videos! Keep up the good work! Question: is the vegetable shirt in this video available to buy anywhere? Thanks!
I recently purchased a chipper Matt. Started slaying my playing partners with it. Best addition to my bag ever!
Always a pleasure to watch and learn from you! Thank you!
Timely share Matty, I'm playing my first round in 6 weeks tomorrow. Last round shot my best at 8 over and I'm nervous. Booked the tee to myself!
Bro I have been watching your videos since I start playing golf last year. Looking forward seeing you on a course here in Thailand soon. Apparently you played with a couple of friends of mine already near Bangkok and Samut Prakarn! May be one day I will meet you in person here Thailand as well! Keep up the entertaining and helpful videos! BTW I love that you point out the mental aspect so much, cause that is actually my biggest flaw as well. Keep up the good work bro!
Playa! I am always learning something from you. Why am I even taking clubs that I'm not comfortable with or actively working on at the range? 3w and 6i through 58° and I bet I shave at least two strokes. I know you've said it before, but it didn't hit until this video.
Nice work Playa. Interesting choice to play with both chippers in the bag.
Thanks for the relatable content!
Glad you’re officially on the mend! Can’t wait for your next update!
The 7w was a great choice. Keep at it Baus, you are inspirational.
You pulled it together on the back nine Baus, which proves your approach is spot on.
Mate I've missed you it's great to have you back Playa!! Looking forward to the upcoming content! 😀
My house is about a mile from North Hill. That course has water on the left and right on a lot of holes. It used to be a 9 hole course called Koolpunte, named after the housing around there
Dying to see your progress. You’ll get me through the coming Winter!!
Oh Canada is Ernie Els smooth😍
I was a sub 90 golfer for a long time then something broke and I rarely break 100 now and a bad day is over 110. Lessons and practice seem to do nothing, so golf is now mostly a drinking game !
You have a plan! Excellent!
I played without my range finder and it helped me out a lot. I learned I'm not a pro but It took out the mental block and trash in my head. Until I get consistent on breaking 90-85.
I haven’t played in over 6 weeks due to illness. The weather in the uk isn’t up to much either but I’m itching to get back to it.
"The TrackPERSON bay"???? Ah here Matt!!
But on a more serious note good to see you recovering from injury and getting your game back👍👍👍
Took me some scrolling to see this post, I wondered about that also. The unit has a real, brand name. Hoping for the best, not what I fear.
Track people
@@GolfSidekick my apologies sir, People!!
And at the end of the day we are all indeed people!!
Anyway 86 for your first round back? I'd kill for an 86!!!
I’m low-high 90s typically. Broke into the 80s 3 times this year (first year playing).
I’ve notice I lose so many strokes on errant tee shots.
Then I hit a good tee shot just to duff a wedge in the fairway.. or 3 putt from 10 feet away
Just change the way you phrased that playa. Instead of expecting impending doom, expect good stuff. Then wash it off regardless of the result and then do it all over again. One shot at a time. No living in the past or future
Trackperson 😂😂 all the silly things you say sometimes slip by me, but this one got me good. Thanks for the laughs over the years broski!
I truly enjoy your videos Matt! You're one of the reasons I decided to start my own channel as well. I hope to go to Chiang Mai some day soon, because I have a few friends there. I definitely intend to play some courses there as well and perhaps we can play a round together! Have a great weekend.
LETS GOOOO!!!! so happy to see your content again! I hope you are doing well!
One of my playing partners makes fun of my old lady 7w. But man when I stick a green from 230 out of the rough. They are impressed.
Good to see ya playa!
Awesome! Chiang Mai is a beautiful place
Good to see you back bro
Love the Chipper. The most used club in my bag 😂
I think what you said around the 10 minute mark is really important. Just because you’re not on your game doesn’t mean you can ruin the game of those around you. Stiffen your upper lip and have fun. Do not get upset, throw clubs, pout. Enjoy the weather, birds chirping, fresh air. Crack some jokes with your playing partners, enjoy the day, you’re fortunate to be out on the course and not trapped in a cubicle, or mining coal for a 13 hour shift.
I used to get really irritated when i played golf even though i was a bad amateur . Now i have have only played 4 rounds of pitch and putt in 2 years (first golf for 14 years) and I'm usually horrendous but just being able to be on a (ropey) golf xourse with ropey balls a half set of v ropey clubs and havinh some 5 putts doesn't matter. Anyone who can play golf of any sort is v well off and should be happy.
Well played!
Prop for showing that last video. The frustration, anger and everything opposite of what playa golf is. Not hating at all. Borderline art amigo. Glad to see you laughing again. I went on a roll for a while then had my one pouty round. Guess we all struggle with it.
Ups and downs, strikes and gutters, playboy. In a slump at the moment myself… just gotta assess and move forward!
your the man matt..be scratch again in no time
The lesson u gave me is short game will save the day
U will back on top in no time.
Look at the storm good old monsoon season lol
Was wondering if you're planning to come to Malaysia for golf..
If you do, do let me know.. I'll bring you to a few courses that I'd normally play.. I could guarantee you a good experience..
Good work playa n chief.. it’s coming back..
2.43 ooh maa god! Wonder how many people got the facejacker reference
Great video.
When are you coming to Upstate NY? Next summer? We've got a great line-up for you...
Way of the playa! Let's go!
LMFAO @ the Bryan Adams quote on the wall
On 12, 2nd shot, after selecting the wrong club (7W), At least you were telling yourself the right stuff to get in a decent mental space.
ohhhhh Canada!!!
LOVE the shirt playa and chief !!! I have been a slave to work for months now and have been dying to "catch up".
... Is the avocado shirt part of your newest drop !??
Sever Exy brother !! I want one, perhaps with a toasty bucket hat ... ? ? ?
Do you grip down on clubs to take distance off?
swing by Manchester anytime there's always a welcome for the playea! in our great city, 👍
Only when shiels is not there!!!
Our Playa Baus since the first video recently with a Canadian Lefty. Go my Baus Chief Playa 👍🏼
Good to see you return to the game, next to return to “form”…
the man, the myth, the legend....hes back
Love your videos
The Avocado 🥑 Bravado in its full glory!!!! GOB 🌞 💪
Knew you’d be back! Never a doubt
Course looks amazing! Hope to be there one day for a nice round!
As a newish 😀 golfer shooting in the 90s, it was good to see how you try to keep your mood together
We all have those days brother. Hang in there. ✌🏻
Edit: The “Oh Canada!” had me in stitches! 😂
Im not an expert, but i think your "head sway" is back in action. I think i saw it in a few shots here and there
The ones eric mentioned when you had a lesson with him
You always give me Hunter S. Thompson vibes with your outfits. Cheers to another good one bud.
Is she hot?
@@GolfSidekick This is actually Johnny Depp imitating Hunter, but I has the bucket hat/loud shirt vibe Proko was refererncing. i.guim.co.uk/img/media/520674c5a7e20ca524666012032d21518724398b/0_69_3264_1959/master/3264.jpg?width=1200&quality=85&auto=format&fit=max&s=410ca96914ad3a580f26cab2fc6f506f
@@GolfSidekick He was a very famous writer but we will go with hot for sure. XD
Good ole reliable 7w though. It kept you in the game.
it a great club. 9 wood is even BETTER
brilliant chip at 2 min. just an absolute beauty on that tough lie
Watery track, welcome back!
👍
8:57 Hey, that's not allowed!
(Sweet swing though)
When you had to get over the tree on the last hole and you went with an open faced PW instead of a 50°, what's the point of that? Isn't opening the face essentially bringing it to the same loft of the 50 anyways (but having to manipulate the natural setting of the club face)?
i didnt have the 50°
@@GolfSidekick ahhh that's right! Sorry lol
WELCOME BACK CHIEF
Wonder how you play better on the tighter 9 on the bad day 😂😘
We missed you Playa in Chief!
"We all know it, why don't we do it?" Infinite truth
*I didn't have an 8 iron but I had a 58°

Wadda playa Wadda life
I’m gonna dream about avocados tonight.
I'm glad to see you say "finagle" too :D
The "oh Canada" gets me every time
You can‘t fool me matti- luring innocent victims into a wager mach after blowing the first 9, only to release the playa-in-chief on the 2nd half 😂
/edit autocorrect
God, I miss Thailand.....
Matt buddy I see something not trying get in your head but I see something I do which is smashing the face off the ball. When your comfortable your swing looks completely different but when you’re not you smash at it get the pulls and pushes.
Kind of like a sudden twitch in the shoulders your best shots you don’t have that
Yes. This was my second round in 14 weeks
20 balls. I usually use more on the practice putting green
The avocado t shirt goes hard
