Regarding the push jerk: setting the hips back in the beginning of the dip, or, keeping the spine natural, and hips strait down, initiating the dip from the knees.
I don't have a coach and only train olympic specificly twice a week and I'm not progressing weight wise but I feel like my technique is getting better.
Weightlifting is definitely a kind of addiction. I remember Bob Takano mentioned something to that effect on a podcast and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on it. And on how we can get help.
This is a tough one. The main reason being, its what wins. When you are brought up into this sport as a child, and continue to excel into your prime, what matters is placement and records. If they get the job done with the squat jerk, so be it. However, the odds of anyone who views the videos on this channel excelling in competition and breaking records with a squat jerk are INCREDIBLY low. Shi is an absolute 1 in a million lifter. Thats all there is to it.
is using a coach whos main job is crossfit, or who operates out of a crossfit gym a bad idea? I want to learn the lifts the right way, and I know that there are some things a lot of crossfit coaches get wrong. If anyone has experience here let me know.
As long as the coach is progressive and not lazy about the coaching of the two very specific things you want to learn. The problem with CrossFit coaches is that their goals are not to produce good weightlifters. They want to produce average gymnasts, weightlifters, distance athletes, etc. Go to a CrossFit coach, but leave if its not the right one, with the right mindset.
@@zacktelander I really appreciate the reply. I'll start looking around the area and be sure to try and feel out their priorities and mindset. Thanks for everything man, keep on keeping on
So i noticed when i catch the bar after the clean my upperback will hunch a bit under the weight but my lowre back and hips stay flexed correctly, is this just because of load or am i not bracing correctly idk i cant find anything on this
Don’t know if your still having the problem. But I would assume you have the leg strength for the front squat but are lacking back strength relative to leg and clean strength.
Watch torokhtiy's technique about the power position and pull the bar close in the second pull. Plus you shouldn't focus on your hips it is your quads that do the most!! (Do not rely on hip extension and be patient when you are pulling)
I do everything for the style. #IsquatJerk70kg
Zach Thorn Down there withcha!
What, are you telling me I'm not Lu? Sounds like you should do video about it or something.
After a few years, I have come to accept the fact that I am not Lu.
At 3:24 Zack Telander caught Max Aita sleeping during the interview! Lmfao!!!😂😂😂
Abishek S he was typing on his laptop...what a dick
It’s come to a point where I feel guilty watching good content without any ads in it..
Batman got rich because of ads. Now batman poor.

Spider-Man: Mirco Scarantino
Lasha should be Thanos?

I know it‘s a stupid question but what are the reasons for squatjerkers then? E.g. Shi Zhiyong?
The reason is called being Chinese

TJ Bach , really depends on the coach, they could have a solid weightlifting approach and background.

So squats is key!
The bar hits my testicles in clean, how I fix it?
Watch torokhtiy's technique about the power position and pull the bar close in the second pull. Plus you shouldn't focus on your hips it is your quads that do the most!! (Do not rely on hip extension and be patient when you are pulling)
Cut them off. Weightlifting is more important than testicles.
Love hearing Max talk! That other guy is kinda okay too
7:22 Anyone know who that lifter is?
Should call these T(elander) & A(ita).
