I can barely understand a word without the captions and I lived 15 years in Britain. It is a problem if you constantly have to read while watching a video
I found your explanation quite informative. I have a question, even though I'm not very technical. I'd like to understand how it works. If there's an ERP system running on this server, do users log in to the operating system using a specific terminal application installed on their regular Windows desktops before accessing the ERP?
Nothing bad will happen if you stay logged in, some servers have a no activity timeout and they would automatically log you out! but it is always a good idea to log out after you are done.
First being on the cloud is an added risk which is not needed and just dangerous for many (utility, health , banks, gov, etc), next you can run almost anything OSS you want onto it without using external systems as the Hardware does support an hypervisor that is able to run linux vm , with a CPU sharing that is far far more powerfull than current intel based hypervisors. It does include a powerfull DB2 engine with functions that just don't exists on LUW (auto creation index management), next, the level of security capability (C2 level) and tracability needed in critical environments like banks etc, you just don't get that on Linux or Windows without added software or constrains. Last this is still the most robust system existing (just lower than clustered Zos etc) with a TCO that is really low as long as you know how to run it. Its almost indestructible. The only thing really missing is that, as long as i know, it doesn't support gpu external cards.
Your explanation absolutely covered all my questions. Thanks a lot!!!!

I picked up one of these at a thrift store and it seems to work but even my VGA monitors don't work with this. How does one hook up a monitor to this?

Why would a modern company use AS400 instead of google clouds?
