    After my VE24 wore out from being used for over 25 years I bought the VE25. Within 2 years and about 20 uses both screen doors were totally ripped and unusable and it has been sitting in my garage waiting for me to send it back for repair. My old 24 bought around 1980 was indestructable but the 25 is obviously made of inferior materials. Sad.

      Hey Chris, I haven't had any issues with the flyscreen on mine ripping, but I must admit that it it a fairly fine mesh that could be ripped if pushed too far, but if they made it out of thicker material it would be stronger but weigh more..
      Why not try and give North Face a call and see what they can do for you? their warranty is pretty amazing sometimes

      Yaa......I intend to. There is an REI nearby and I've heard they might also be helpful. I've been dragging my feet since becoming disabled. I'd still like to have it for car camping in my Land Cruiser. @@SimoD587

    nice vid! I'm considering this tent although am also looking at Marmot Thor 2...have you had any issues with VE 25? Ventilation? besides opening doors for crosswind,,,,how are the Pop-up vents inside? do they make a difference?
    thanks

      Thanks Chris much appreciated. The VE25 is a beast, load of room, designed to withstand the harshest of conditions.. but it is heavy, thats the only downside I have encountered thus far. Ventilation adjustment from inside the tent is awesome and I've never had any issues with condensation.
      My tent is a few years old now and is holding up really well, the first and best things I did when I bought it was add 3mm reflective cord loops to the j-stakes, I'm fairly sure this is standard now.. but damn it makes a difference when packing up!
      Good luck with the purchase and let me know if you have any other questions :)

      awesome- thanks for the feedback,,,,was also looking at NF Mountain 25 although its quite a bit smaller

      I wouldn't discount the size of the Mountain 25 too much, its still a really comfortable tent which shares a lot of the same features as its big brother. You do save about 700g and if you're heading out by yourself then you wont really need the extra space of the VE25.
      Just to give you some context, the VE25 is heavy when you're by yourself, super comfortable with 2 people and squishy but ok with 3.

    What liter pack do you have on and we’re you able to fit the whole tent in it I have a north face cobra 60L pack will that tent fit in it

    • @SimoD587
      @SimoD587  4 года назад

      I've carried the tent in a 65L pack with enough room for the rest of my kit, but I would definitely advise splitting the load between two people. This is a BIG tent for one person and more than enough space for two.
      If you're going solo and don't expect crazy/insane weather, you might be better off with one of the smaller tents to save some weight and space 👍

      It is expensive, but I do believe you get a fairly robust tent for your money. Depending on the conditions you expect to face, this tent is either crazy overkill or worth its weight in gold

    Hello, what do you think regarding the "bastion 4" model, I am between the two models, 2 people always travel, but we just have the space, greetings.
