    Great video. I have the same problem with my coilovers. Do I need to buy both "Adjustable toe arms and adjustable camber arms?" How about for the front? After lowering the G35, all 4 tires were getting chewed from the inner.

    • @milsgarage
      @milsgarage  8 дней назад

      Thank you! Yes, you’re gonna need both the front and rear camber and toe arms.. i haven’t had any issues running the stock front arms with the upgraded rear setup, and i’m lowered to within millimeters of bottoming on speed bumps.. The stock wheels should work as long as the camber is corrected

    I just replaced my G’s rear subframe, and found out all I needed was (new bushings all around ofc) a rear cross member W brace, and rear cross member support brace! I would’ve saved A FORTUNE if I knew that. But instead I was told by numerous repair shops that the subframe was junk when it was the most MINT thing about the car. Don’t do what I did!!! I see a lot of people worried about rusty subframes but its the braces that cover them that are actually rusty, a lot cheaper to replace to if you dont go to the dealership, I recommend Z1 for the W brace, then ebay or partsbeast for the support brace! Hope this helped anyone!

      @Miguel Macias Yeah? That sucks, but i'm really glad you're here giving advice on the subject. i'm in the final stages of getting rid of a rotational rattle in the rear.. Thinking it's either the differential going bad, a bearing or two, and/or some sort of bushings.. Maybe the dif bushing.. What were you fixing that made you think it was the subframe at first?

    • @tleoipl37
      @tleoipl37 4 года назад +1

      Diff brace and diff bushing are the most underrated mods you can do to the VQ g and z chassis. 90% of owners don’t know this. I yet to install my whiteline bushing and bell house diff brace one day lol. I’m at 55k and she’s hanging in there. Usually they go out at 60-80k

    • @miguelmacias2115

      Mils Garage Sorry for the late reply! I heard a lot of squeaking in the cabin, then decided to check it out, brought it to a mechanic w an actual hydraulic lift, and was then told it was the whole subframe (even tho it wasnt). The diff bushing can definitely be main factor of the noise because of all the play, but if you have replaced it then I’d assume the support braces for the subframe need replacement. Mine were so rotted out I could rip it out! Same w my front😳 but thats for another time LMAO.

    • @milsgarage
      @milsgarage  3 года назад +1

      i already have true rear coilovers, which combines the strut and the spring as one unit. It's the best setup to lower and/or race the car. i personally would not put my money in a coilover set that has the separate springs, because it is not going to perform well on a track, and would end up needing an alignment any time i slide around... which happens :) 🚗💭➰➰➰

      Starting to wish I had done more research on this before I bought kwv3 for my G35. I only lowered the car like and inch maybe 2 max and I'm hundreds of dollars deep into alignments. The shops cant get the camber out of the rear. I have camber and toe arms and still the best they can get it is -4°. I'm not one of the camber gang boys and I'm stuck in a spot now where I'm gonna have to buy a new set of rear coilovers if I want any chance of getting it back to factor specs. Okay so, I've hit a major hurdle that maybe you could explain. I've pretty much followed you up until this point, I've got Z1 Motorsports adjustable upper control arms, toe arms, camber arms, and since the Toe arms delete the bucket for the spring in the rear, my BC Racing Coilovers for the rear are independent of eachother. Meaning these are meant to go on the stock suspension. Spring is separate from the shock. Where did you get a coilover that has the spring built or assembled inside of the shock? The BC Racing Coilovers package I got does not allow me to add the spring to the rear like the front comes with. I've got a cup for the spring and spring is supposed to fit into that bucket. Does BC Racing make a locking ring for the rear coilovers so I can attach the spring over the shock? I'm pretty bummed right now cause I had planned on doing this over the weekend and Ive finally got all the parts I need. I have the BR Series coilovers. I can't believe I didn't notice this but I didn't see this in your video about the coilovers

      So i never purchased the coilovers, as i bought the car with them on it.. For the longest time i thought i was driving on BC Racing BR Series, and i had no reason to check.. It turns out i have Stance XR1 coilovers, which are currently priced ~$500 more than BC BR coilovers. You can check them out at stance-usa.com/ . You will need coilovers which remove the bucket setup in order to use those toe arms.

      A good less expensive route is to go with a brand like Tein. They ride nice and are cost-effective. If you have the ability to go with the XR1's, i would absolutely recommend them

      I've emailed BC Racing. It appears all I would need are different springs and maybe locking rings. The springs it come with are too wide and slip right over everything. FML, I should've caught this. Maybe I can find a set of rear only somewhere

      @Michael Enochs 😮 They're saying you can change the BR Series strut tower so it has the spring on it?? 🤯 Wow. i'm very interested in hearing about that, cause i have 2 customers already rocking the BR Series, and i'll absolutely recommend the solution to them

      Whoa whoa whoa, no. I emailed BC Racing for their options for my case. What I'm saying is, the set of coilovers I have has a fat spring for the rear that sits in the OEM bucket. I thought it might work on the rear coilover but the bottom part of the spring is so wide that it slips right over the locking rings. There wouldn't be any way to mount the spring to the coilover. The only way I could make these work is if perhaps I got new springs that were thinner and then the locking rings could hold the new spring in place. I don't see why it wouldn't work, it would be ni different that the coilovers in the front. I am not experienced in suspension but I don't understand why what I'm saying couldn't work. Do you have an email? I could send you picture memes of what I'm talking about if you can't understand. Otherwise I can report back with what BC Racing recommends cause right now the spring is meant for that old OEM bucket and too large for the coilover. It's just a shock at this point and not a strut/coilover which is what I need.

    What are the pros and cons of both the oem style coilovers, and the true rear style?

    Are the camber and toe lockout kits the same length? I see it looks like your toe ones stick out a little bit past the nut. I just installed mine and they are only about half way in the nut. I called Z1 and they said that was correct.
