My wife and I just started watching this tonight. Three episodes in and love it. Funny and heartwarming. When do we get to declare Ted Danson a national treasure? He’s had an AMAZING television career. Really enjoying this.
Just binged it this weekend and it’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in ages. So touching and genuinely made me emotional which was not what I was expecting when I started. Absolutely loved it and hope it gets another season
I'm not sure it will get another season though, and perhaps it's for the best for the story's sake. The ending just seemed really open ended and broad, and seemed to have patched up all internal and external conflicts wonderfully. Though, I could still be wrong regarding the addition of another season to the story.
These creators always get me in the field. They set up a silly premise like Ted Lasso, maybe shrinking Brooklyn Nine-Nine and they find humanity and always makes me swell up. I love this show and I love these creators.
Great tv series and great review. You only missed to mention something very important, that this series is based in the great chilean documentary from Mayte Alberdi The Mole (El Agente Topo)
You gotta watch The Mole Agent, which is the documentary that this show is based on, cause its amazing It was nominated for an Oscar, such heart and special message behind it, especially since while very cinematic, it was real the experience
I loved it, although I wasn’t sure that I would when I began watching. The longer I watched, the more I wanted to continue. It was funny, sad, and heartwarming. I hope there’s at least a second season.
Besides the wonderful story itself, it was great seeing all these character actors who I recognized from other movies and tv series - Mary Elizabeth Ellis (Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Lori Tan Chinn (Orange is the New Black), Eugene Cordero (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Susan Rutten (L.A. Law), Margaret Avery (The Color Purple) and so many more.
Loved seeing all the TV actors from the 70s, 80s, 90s TV shows. All in the Family, LA Law, many more I saw but hit a brain freeze on the various actors whom Ive come to know of their earlier work.
Will try it. But Shrinking is still the best comedy ( i guess it's not a sit com) show out there that nobody talks about. But i do like the old timers getting a chance to show that they are still valuable.
I was beginning to think i was the only one who was so enamored with this show. I literally binged it in one day and then was mad at myself that I didn't leave any of it to watch later.
Hey austin. Been following you since years. Would love if you clip this front intro and some parts making it a 30 seconds video and clipping the final verdict of the review and putting it on instagram reels and tiktok. Worth the views and traffic ! Plus some people just want the final verdict sometimes in short seconds!!! Cheers
I suspect people who liked "A Good Place" liked this. Even though we watched it all, the ONLY reason was because we're fans of Danson. The story and writing is weak and contrived and the outcome of the mystery is telegraphed in the first episode. Meh
I typically find this genre of tv to be exceedingly boring, i mean i still got PTSD from how boring the movie 'the color purple' was.... but NO, this one, A man on the inside, i actually LOVED it!!
Very disappointing show, as in I am disappointed it was not longer, disappointed that season 2 is not available right now, disappointed that I am not going to see Didi and the rest of the crew at the home in season 2. I truly want Didi to play a larger role in the next season. I also (friend) ship Julie and Didi, or just ship them. Ted Danson is having a similar arc as Hugh Grant, only on the small screen.
Watched it after your video, really didn't like it. It is dull, not funny at all, mostly boring. The characters are run-of-the-mill, clichés, nothing we've seen a thousand times before, and in much better and more touching ways. The writing is uninspired and so predictable, over-dramatizing innocuous things. I usually agree with your reviews, that's one big exception here. It's like I've been watching a totally different show than the one you're describing.

Yes yes and yes

I finished it and immediately started it over again!!!❤❤❤❤
It’s charming Ted danson dazzles in another comedy series

Don't forget about their other creation The Good Place~
@ oh no never forget good place it made me feel better about my mortality
I binged this yesterday! It was so funny and heartwarming, and I loved it! Ted Danson is the best.
He sure is

@lytaquiroz Thanks for shouting out The Mole Agent. It is a great documentary.❤
LOVED it! Mike Schur shows are money.
100%
Just so wonderful
Will check it out. Austin, Thanks for turning me onto this 🙏🏼
I loved it, although I wasn’t sure that I would when I began watching. The longer I watched, the more I wanted to continue. It was funny, sad, and heartwarming. I hope there’s at least a second season.
You seemed so pumped for this show Austin, I will definitely check it out.

I agree! This show warmed my little heart!
It's based on a Chilean movie I can also watch on Netflix: "The Mole Agent."
It is a documentary not a movie.😉
Agree, 100%! Just finished binging the show in two nights
Loved seeing all the TV actors from the 70s, 80s, 90s TV shows. All in the Family, LA Law, many more I saw but hit a brain freeze on the various actors whom Ive come to know of their earlier work.
Another fantastic video! Thank you
AMAZING MUST SEE!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate the lack of the insufferable laughtracks ubiquitous in sitcoms, dictating what should and shouldn't be funny.
I got so sick and tired of sitcoms because of that 💀
Based on the movie + documentary "The mole agent"
AMAZING SHOW
I agree with you. First I was thinking that I was the only one crying. I believe as well that this will be the best sitcom of the year. 😁👍

I really appreciate the show reviews, which feel much less common.
My pleasure!
I just lost my job and got loads of time on hand. Will watch this tomoro. Thanks for the recommendation.
Hope you enjoy it!
@AustinBurke thanks for the reply. 😁
I’m glad to hear!
Omg i cant wait to watch! Thank u
Ted Danson can even make a cameo in Saving Private Ryan. And still bring his A Game.
WATCH IT! SO MUCH DEEPER THAN WHAT YOU THINK!
I am a HUGE fan of the good place and I'm so happy to have watched this new series! I loved the easter eggs!!!!!!

SO GOOD, great tv like the ol days!!
Please do Pantheon
Austin this review is making me want to get Netflix 😅
The poster looks like the movie poster for OSS 117 with Jean Dujardin…
Bro what are these bots 😭
They scare me
I think they want to go on dates with me after I give my SIN number and banking passwords
Are going to review Moana 2?
I typically find this genre of tv to be exceedingly boring, i mean i still got PTSD from how boring the movie 'the color purple' was.... but NO, this one, A man on the inside, i actually LOVED it!!
It was a bit of a let down , too much of a bloated script and then it padded out towards the end and then finished out okay. I was expecting more.

Ah yeah…..couldn’t sit through 10min, awkward moments and horrible story telling isn’t a great recipe for a comedy….somebody got paid! 😂
i understand why you’d feel that way but it really does pick up pace and becomes funnier as it goes along :)
