Monetary power and monetary stability in a multipolar world needs to be based on the buying power of citizens. Else, monetary policy will be determined by foreigners, so India government would become a municipality with an army and no monetary sovereignity.
To maximize buying power, you need extreme low employment and a wide middle class, so the gap between rich and poor is not wide. I suspect that India will suffer a cultural shock because of this, because the rich will not want to stop being ridiculously rich with a cap on their income, and caste system will have to disappear. If caste system remains, people origins will determine their destiny, and as a nation its poverty will condemn India to poverty again. It means that even the untouchables should have the right and real opportunity to become middle class. India can choose the other path, lack of monetary sovereignity.
Buying power of a wide middle class maximizes the stability and monetary power of a currency. And with so many people using the currency, India would be unbeatable by any other nation. So population matters only if people in that population are not poor. This is where those who cannot work because of disability or disease or because they are caregivers, will require a subsidy to keep their income. So what appears to be an act of solidarity towards the most vulnerable is indeed a macroeconomical policy of monetary stabilization.

@@johnturner9855 A currency is strong if people use it. USA tried to increase "use of currency" artificially through debt and interests instead of population income, and today USA is paying more in interests than defense spending. The worst part of it is that to bury interests into the financial system so they do not become inflation in real economy, interests need to be paid and that forces money printing that devaluates USD, so if one day USD had to be converted to commodities, USD value would be way small. Interests weaken currency, instead, population income adds strength to currency,.
Having a large percentage of population as middle class, with strong buying power and cap of income so the difference between rich and poor is not too wide, it will achieve what USA tried to achieve without paying interests. And it would not be inflationary like interests, and no money printing is needed, just high employment rates.
The other alternative is to imitate USA and have the same problems.

You lost me at the caste part. I am from lower caste and we here are getting reservation in jobs and college. We pay substantial less fees as compared to others.

@@veryflow1156 In that case, I applaud if caste system is being abolished. India will have no future if origin of people determine their future. And if it gets gradually abolished, I see a bright future for India.
