When my mom graduated nursing school in the early 90s she got a job in a small town in Louisiana at a dialysis clinic. During recruiting the lady in charge met with both of us…then made sure to tell my mom not to worry because the job would pay for me to go to private school so I didn’t have to “mix with coloured kids”. At the time we lived in Toronto & I was at a school where I was one of 10 white kids. All my friends were different races because it was a low income community full of new comers. Needless to say I chose to stay in Canada & lived with my grandparents until my mom’s contract was up. I refused to participate in the structural racism there.

About four decades ago we were given a military test in my junior year of a public high school in rural Tennessee. It's probably no coincidence that there was a lot of poverty in that county.
The military tantalizes the poor with the idea that they can get out of poverty simply by "serving their country." The reality: Homeless veterans, a woefully underfunded VA, et cetera.
Project 2025 will hurt everyone except for a few male billionaires I suppose. I just want to add that Project 2025 also includes eliminating the Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program. As if there isn't already a severe shortage of teachers and other careers in public service.
This would be horrifying and many of the rights eliminated would have prevented most of my family, over the last 40 years, from finishing school. This isn't some harmless mouthpiece pet project of a fringe, this is dangerous for any "leader" to be considering, let alone participating in.

About four decades ago we were given a military test in my junior year of a public high school in rural Tennessee. It's probably no coincidence that there was a lot of poverty in that county.
The military tantalizes the poor with the idea that they can get out of poverty simply by "serving their country." The reality: Homeless veterans, a woefully underfunded VA, et cetera.
