When this phase is over, I wish your family to return to the original line-up and cheer their fans around the world. The Jets is the best family band in history.
I used to listen to her voice as a young six or seven year old kid growing up in Monterey Park, Ca., in those Jets jams, and man, even now a a gown man, I get still butterflies hearing her voice. Beautiful is an understatement. 😊❤
@@ramseschadtupang9686yes. I think there are like 17 of them. 15 biological. Only Eddie and Eugene were adopted. When they reunited for the 2010 reunion, they started clashing. Leroy, Haini, and Rudy wanted to go one direction while the girls plus Eddie wanted to go a different one as far as what direction to take the band if they were to continue with an actual full on reunion and eventual reunion album. It got so bad, their parents actually sided with the boys and encouraged them to sue the girls over ownership of the name and right to tour under that name so they did. About a decade later they finally “made up” when their father died, but from what I can tell it still isn’t the same cuz there’s still two separate bands of the Jets right now. So sad
MAN. I LOVE THIS SONG. IT RELAXES MY MIND, BODY AND SOUL. IT MAKES ME FORGET MY SURROUNDINGS. A MILLION THANK YOU TO THE JETS FAMILY. TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE. ENJOY YOUR DAY TOGETHER.
Man, this song blows every modern song out of the water. They don't make music like this anymore. I hate the overprocessed, generic, talentless garbage that's out there today.
@@JessePinkman-t5o that is because songs in the 80s told a story. A story of love, it wasn't just about being catchy. It was about the power of the story of love. An interesting tidbit is that when they heard the Jets song "Make it Real" they specifically wrote the Selena song "Dreaming about you" for Elizabeth to sing.
I loved the Jets since early 80s.I was thirteen when this was recorded. I fell in love with Elizabeth. I'm sure like all the other guys my age .I never got to see them because, we were poor. I wouldn't change a thing ,it taught me to be thankful for the little things.
I JUST READ HER AGE....UNBELIEVABLE..IM FLOORED...what a blessing to be so talented at such a young age, and it seems like she and the rest of the family handled being that talented very well.
You guys, The Jets are a staple in my life, I was only 10 years old when I fell in love with your music (I am now 45 years old) these days, music has changed... But one thing is for sure, all of your (the Jets music) is enlightening and makes me reminisce of the good old 80s. There is no other band like the Jets. Full of soul & brilliance
I've heard of the Jets when I was a kid in the 80's and of course, knew their music. But I'm just now learning about them. What a talented family. And I never knew how young they were. Kids and teens. I'm very impressed and I'm really into their music right now.
I was in second year art college. I was listening to Tears For Fears, Kate Bush, Grace Jones, and all the art bands. And this song. I always knew this was a pantheon pop song. Beautifully constructed, arranged, performed and sung. It still resonates all these years later. The whole band sounds great here!
My older cousin was almost obsessed with this band when they dropped. He and his sister were all about this band. They kinda influenced me to love them too I was born around this time so when I was in my K-1 age, it was the early 90s and they were already gone from the mainstream but just barely. The boy had a huge crush on Elizabeth he thought she was like 18-19 but truth is they're the same age (Both borh 1972). He was so into her, when he came across a light skinned polynesian gal he met in Harlem sometime later, he asked her out and they went out for 4 years, but she left NY to do some stuff in Samoa (She was Samoan and he knew the Jets were Tongan. Similar) for her church. He was heartbroken. He ultimately ended up with an awesome Puerto Rican girl who he had 3 kids with but that Samoan girl he always says was his first love, hugely thanks to the Jets. They'd always kick it to their music when they were dating. Slow dance and everything too. He still talks about her once in awhile lol. Anyway, honestly i thought Elizabeth was like 19 when she sang this. To know she was 13 is crazy. I didn't even know what they looked like until I was in my teens as well. All the sisters are beautiful, especially Elizabeth. I follow them on IG too. They're great.
Thank god that Liz is around to hear that voice, I was 15 and was like damn she melts you when she sings back then. I thought she was older then me, turns out was younger lol.
LeRoy… I got to meet you at a campground in the middle 90’s. You and your family put on a special free show at this tiny campground near Saint Joseph Michigan where you were staying. The family was approachable and so nice. Everyone was so talented. The Jets music never gets old.
Great band, and I wanted to point out that the young man drumming has a great feel. As a drummer I know it isn't easy for young people to lay down a solid, good feeling groove in such a slow ballad.
In all honesty, there has never been a version of this song (by anyone) that isn't worthwhile. But I think the Jets' version here may be the best of all. I notice also that it's a little faster tempo here than on the version released as a single back in 86.
Mr.Wolfgramm, your group and your music is my go to Tunes when things get difficult. Thank you so much for the honesty in your music! Cheers to you all, please tell Liz and the entire group that David says thank you so much......🕊️
More like 12 years old during the time of their album release. Get the album or cd and you will see their ages. Moana was 11 years old and Kathy was 14.
Rupert Holmes the genius songwriter gifted this beautiful song to the Jets. I am eternally grateful that Elizabeth got this song because she was the best person to sing it!
I've watched 1 of Moana's interview saying that they don't really like the ballads back then when they were at this young age because it's boring and they didn't know anything yet about love or breaking up etc. And it shows on Liz facial reaction and body movement. But her voice and how she performed the song, Wow so phenomenal. I so love this group ever since. The Jets are the best family band ever! Whatever happens, I will always be your ultimate supporter for a lifetime. Shoutout Sir Leroy! Ofa Atu 🤙
I remember that interview she said they told Lizzie to imagine her puppy died in order to get the propper angst. But whatever the inspiration, she tore that song up!!
Great post.. a while back your non blood keyboard player who did some live gigs with you had a channel with some great live performances he did with you in the early 90s.. I complimented him and he took out all your music for he wanted his original music to b the focus.. you were in the group at that time.. can you share or post some of those performances?
I remember that! I also sent him a nice comment (about the group mostly) Then the music and an unreleased album of theirs disappeared. I was like what the heck.
Do what!!! Too Cool. I love this song!! Magic. What a Brilliant song. How old was she when it hit the market? I remember falling asleep to it when my mom would pick me up riding home late (night) finally feeling some comfort LOL. This band sang me to sleep a quite a few times. I’m finding myself listening to it now on late night drives home as a grown up just taking my mind off of everything.
Me and Liz are the same age, so when this song first came out I used to pretend she was saying to me lol! You guys captivated me and my friends during our youth, and I just want to say thank you for giving us such great memories.
She had such a mature, adult-sounding voice for only being 13!
This must've been around 1985? Amazing voices and lovely melody!
She was a baby, but that voice....is one of the greatest voices I have ever heard!!!
My favorite Jets song!! I was 21 in 1986 and in the US Navy when this song came out!
