    Started using Bome recently and I am highly satisfied with that results. This paid software is 10x better than the built in Mac midi network, and it naturally works between Windows+Apple so you only need Bome installed on the devices you are using.

    Just wanted to say I switched over to the Bome Network shortly after watching this video a while ago, it has been awesome! I now rarely have issues with connection, it virtually always automatically connects immediately when I plug my computer into the network (hard-wired of course). Considering how much of a hassle it was before using the Apple Midi Network app I totally love not having to worry the midi network connection anymore.

    This is great news. Been using the Apple midi network app and it does weird things every once in a while. The strange thing is my mac to PC (lighting, rtpMIDI) connection is virtually flawless, but going mac to mac (ProPresenter) there can be hiccups. So weird.
    FYI you're not the only one that gets excited at the thought of midi network sessions lol

    Jake, as always, awesome video. Quick semi-unrelated question, I see that you're using Proclaim for your lyrics and not Propresenter. We're in the process of choosing a new lyrics program that accepts MIDI so that we can automate. We're leaning towards Propresenter in part because you use/used it. Would you recommend Proclaim over Propresenter today and why? May I suggest a video comparing the two?

    IConnectivity replaced the mio4 and mio10’s with the mioXM and mioXL Tuesday. Huge RTP possibilities! I understand the budget thing, but I still would rather have hardware.
    Nothing against Bome. I have the Bome Pro Midi Translator. Just like the idea of a hardwired hardware stability. I have done tons of variations, but the iConnectivity stuff...you just can’t beat it.

      I'd just like to remind you that the MIDI messages themselves are likely going to be generated/interpreted by software at either end anyway.

    Thanks for this video on Bome Network Midi. i could not get my iMac to configure the native midi over Ethernet as the checkbox on network/advanced/hardware settings doesn't exist. Short story is i downloaded (and purchased) Bome for both mac and windows and it just works both over wifi and wired ethernet. I have a ways to go in getting automation to work but without this i was stuck.

    Hi Jake thanks for the video, Question have you come across a situation where the Bome network license has removed itself? We recently started using the Bome networking and we shutdown and restarted our computer that's running pro presenter and it has worked out just fine with no issues. But for some reason on Sunday we came in and the Bome midi network license was removed from both our Pro presenter and lighting computer. So I had to re-enter the license key on both occasions. Any reason you could think of on why that could have happened?

    Thank you for the info. So to connect between 2 windows PC's, do I need to buy the Bome Box & Pro App License?
    Can the Propresenter communicate with another computer with this setup, without the MIDI Module from Renewed Vision? Because they do not have the MIDI module for Windows!

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  4 года назад

      This doesn’t solve the ProPresenter on Pc issue. That’s a ProPresenter problem. For two PCs you don’t need the bome box. You should look into Proclaim since that can do midi on PC

    Hey, thanks for this. We use Bome MIDI translator to handle the conversion from Ableton MIDI cues to control Propresenter on Windows machines. RtpMidi handles the network connections right now but I'll have to check into the network software to see how it works on Windows machines. Bome does good work

    • @JonathanHeintges

      Hey, you are running ProPresenter on a Windows machine and you are able to control it remotely? I thought you needed the Midi module for that, which is only available for Mac. How do you do it? Or did I get you wrong?
      Great video as always!

    • @llarlee4864
      @llarlee4864 4 года назад

      @@JonathanHeintges We use Propresenter and Ableton on Windows machines. RtpMidi on each machine handles the midi networking while Bome Midi Translator does the conversion from midi note to Propresenter control. The Bome software can be customized to select any slide/presentation as well as any of the key shortcuts that Propresenter offers. It works well for us as we have no Macs but we can use them should we purchase any. This setup allows us to imitate the midi control Jake uses successfully but on Windows.

    EDIT: I found a solution. the issue was Bome. it just didnt work for me, it was so unreliable and i could not depend on it. to solve my issues i just used macs Internal Network Connection and everything worked perfect after that.
    I am running the bome network pro on two macs one running ableton the other running lightkey and it is highly unreliable for me. It seems to lose connection to the lighting mac and wont fire the midi triggers to the mac. It will work for about a song or two and then just randomly stops sending midi signals to my light mac. Also my lightkey triggers on fire on channel 16 and I dont know if or how to change it. Please help, thanks!
