Man riding to Aht Urghan the first day it launched on the ferry was something special. So many people on that boat, so many people running to everywhere in White Gate and beyond. They would run out into the woodlands, die and still have a great time.
Thank you for another chill remix!^^ First time I rode the ferry, I was with friends, and we foolishly decided to fish to pass the time. At the time, I didn't know the different songs between monster and fish. So I pulled up a hecking seamonk critter! I did this, like 10 seconds or so before the ferry was set to dock. So it had JUST enough time to knock me out before we all zoned. Thankfully someone at the port had raise so I didn't have to deathwarp back and redo the ferry. XD The embarrassing thing was that I was a whm, and I had just forgotten to put reraise up prior to fishing. XD
Hahaha that's awesome! Luckily by that point I think they had already patched out fished mobs aggroing other players, so you hopefully didn't cause a boat massacre.
About as chill as it gets :D I think back to how traveling between areas used to work, specifically having to take a boat or airship. In modern MMOs, we have teleport locations everywhere, including in current retail XI. But back in the day we had to take a boat or airship, and we were totally cool with that, even if we missed the departure time lol
I honestly really appreciated how that made it feel like a living, breathing world, even if I did complain about missed ships on occasion. That said, I admit I probably wouldn't have the time for that now.
Eastward Bound! I remember this playing for the first time, and falling in love with it. It remains one of my all-time favourite FFXI tracks. I was super looking forward to your eventual remix, and here we are, and I am pleased. c:

This is so chill. I don't know the original piece, but this arrangement works so well. That main synth melody reminds me of the famous Hill Street Blues Theme synth sound - great choice!
