It’s true that there are few if any places to physically go for the long term. I think the real escape of our time happens in your mind, and may or may not lead to one moving somewhere else. I know I meet plenty of people that are simultaneously saying they are the prisoner but also play the guard when you actually ask thought provoking questions that shake the cage. My hope is that some will ponder these questions and start asking more. I like the pine tree reference, and I hope I can be a part of creating and building “a pocket of light”.
I quit watching TV over ten years ago. very rarely do i watch or listen to any news. I realized that it was all poison and it was causing me pain. it becomes easier and easier to see what is going on in our society, its like you have a super power to see all the BS. I spend time with God. my life is so much better.
Classic movie. I remember the first time i seen this. About a decade ago when i was still a kid Stopped me in my tracks and i found it so interesting. More then any movie. Just 2 gentleman having a deep conversation. Like the first podcast honestly

Been reading "Amusing ourselves to death" by Neil Postman recently; seems relevant.
