I've spent my life around the ocean and find the sound of waves quite calming. Today, I listened to multiple recordings, and none seem to recreate the full frequency range. Specifically, they seem to under emphasize bass frequencies. I'm not sure whether this is a limitation of the recording instrument, but I did some rough experimentation. By turning up the bass (under 80hz) by 10dB, it sounds much more natural to me (My sound system is pretty flat from 20hz-20khz, and my hearing is good enough.) Has this been mastered with full range systems in mind? Could be a major improvement for your listeners, in case I'm not an outlier. Three months kiteboarding in Barbados taught me that waves this size have some serious rumble.
Love hearing the passion you have for the sounds of the ocean and the thoroughness you put into your analysis!! We staff professional audio engineers who specialize in recording and mastering nature sounds with industry-level equipment. Unfortunately, some of our sounds are affected by compression during the upload process to RUclips. You can try disabling the ‘Stable Volume’ setting on RUclips, which is found by clicking the gear icon on the video player. While it doesn’t always solve everything, it might improve the range you’re hearing. Hope that helps!
@@RelaxingWhiteNoise Interesting. Stable audio does seem to reduce the natural variation of volume in time, as expected. As far as I understand, bit rate compression shouldn't reduce bass, but I could be wrong. I'll check your Spotify and see if it's any different.
Love it, it's like being at the beach. 😙
I am at the beach because I live at the beach with my parents after we moved from Pelham Alabama a little over two years ago
Listening to the waves, I can feel the natural heartbeat. I can feel how beautiful the world is. 🌊💫
This is my favorite sound.. ❤
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! I have been looking for something like this for years!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹
