Applying Brother Lawrence's (he really should be considered a saint) idea of practicing God's presence and St. Therese of Liseux's "Doing little things with great love" combines so beautifully together to make a robust practical spirituality. Those two things are essentially what all the Law and the Prophets are about, that is to love God with everything you have and love your neighbor as yourself. These two humble french monastics; a dishwasher and the "Little Flower", are absolute giants in the faith.
As for a Pastor, consider that they pray for each member or family of their congregation. They're praying for the organized (behind the scenes) Church; praying for their own needs and the needs of his/her own household. Of course there's sitting in the presence of God. It's easy to spend hours on end in the presence of God "praying and listening".
Your Pastor likely prayed 4hours. Pastors and dedicated intercessors pray 🙏 (can pray) for four-six hours even more if the holy Spirit of God is moving.
