In case anyone is wondering, much of the animations in this video were made by a method called video data moshing. It's really cool to see how people can utilise a glitch to make such cool effects and visuals.
is it just me or like i couldn't see any obvious datamoshing, most of it was just normal motion graphics stuff (speaking as a novice motion graphics designer, but hey)
@@davidscann I think this is a different kind of Data Moshing, the ones in the video is mostly using artifacts of an animated Gradient images that will be data moshed to the video... That's all i can think of.
Aside from the music video's spectacular visuals and outstanding music, there is also a deeper meaning behind this song. Let me explain. (Essay warning) Silentroom made this song to express his anxiety about life and music making. This is why this song is called "Nhelv", which is a combination of the words "nerve" and "hell". The person in the music video also represents Silentroom himself. At 0:43, it zooms in to his head/mind. After that, at 0:45, it reveals a jumble of red, black, and white colors, showing that Silentroom's mind is a cluttered mess. The music at the drop also reflects this feeling, because there are only drums and noises, with no clear melody, which represents that Silentroom is in a completely hopeless situation. The noises in this drop reflect the noise in Silentroom's mind, or in other words, all of his obsessive anxious thoughts that overwhelm him. These thoughts appear in a disorderly manner in Silentroom's everyday life, which is why the noise in the song is so irregular and that part of the music video is such a visually chaotic mess. (In a good way!!) At 1:51, the music video reveals that he is falling into what seems to be an abyss of black and white. This abyss symbolizes Silentroom's mind. Silentroom is currently calmed down, which is why the music is calm in this section. He is slowly falling down, which means that even though he feels relaxed in this moment, his mind is still slowly deteriorating as time goes on. However, at 2:02, the jumble of red, black, and white suddenly appears again. He is also falling much faster, which emphasizes the seriousness of his mental decline. This whole part of the song is in fact, a buildup to the climax of the song. At 2:13, the song reaches its climax, and an ear-piercing sound is played for three seconds. During that period of time, the music video also shows Silentroom covering his head in great distress, which means that this time, he is COMPLETELY overwhelmed with his obsessive thoughts, filled with anxiety and hopelessness. The feelings of pain, hopelessness, and fear have completely taken over him. But despite all this, he still tries to fight back. 2:20 Even though he is falling down into what seems like an eternal abyss of hell, 2:24 he still picks himself up on the ground and KEEPS MOVING FORWARD. Then, the music shifts into the major key and a more hopeful tone. Starting at 2:30, the background is fully white and the person in the music video disappears into the radiance. This shows that even in this realm of anxiety and suffering, he still found the light. This is such a powerful message, and it reminds us that even in the darkest of times, all we have to do is to keep moving forward in life, and we will eventually find the light at the end of the tunnel. As a person with OCD, I relate to this song SO MUCH. This song means the world to me. I think this song is TRULY the greatest song of all time, and nobody will convince me otherwise. BRAVO Silentroom!!! Note: Also, I am only scratching the surface of the meaning behind this song. There are still so many more details to uncover that I didn't fully explain in this comment.
