Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great day. AS the others say, however, I'd consider managing the main sheet during those gybes. less potential for disasterous damage to rig and crew.
Can't agree more... All points well taken. This was a light day for San Francisco, a new boom goose neck, and we were using electric winches. Yes the boom break was much on the light side, typically we have more pressure on the boom break and play the main much more in a stronger apparent wind. It's a J120 so the boom is quite high and the crew were well clear of it, and the main. Yeah the main was too far for a moment. We were not DDW and had just enough apparent wind flowing through the asymmetrical spin front to back to maximize a beamy broad reach it never back winded the main. Perfect for snacking.
Should let the gennaker fill after the gybe before letting the boom come across. I would personally sheet in the boom first before letting it slam across potentially injuring crew or snapping the goose neck.
Yea, I cant believe how far he lets that thing fly. Going to kill someone when that thing knocks someone in the head. Plus sheeting the main in helps the spin stay full by not blocking as much wind.

What was the apparent wind and speed during this sail?
It was an Ebb tide in 20 to 26 kn of breeze, sun was too bright to see the instruments
Well this vid was posted in 09, But i was going to say PLEASE sheet in the main before the jibe LOL ALOT less chance for someone to get killed......

Thanks good point... We thought the boom break had more tension on it. Oops
We had a boom break on... though it could have used more tension.
