    Wow, you must be doing something right to make all those hoyas happy and blooming!! 😍😊

      Thanks, but most Hoyas aren't difficult to grow and get to bloom. There's a big mystique about them, but I haven't found them to be difficult; and I'm neither a botanist nor an expert.. Thanks for watching and adding your comment

      Thanks. It's my favorite room in the house. As soon as it's warm enough, some of the plants and I make the migration out there. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.

    Wayettii is beautiful and hardy. Mine can use a repot.

      I up-potted mine shortly after I recorded the video. Fingers crossed.

      @PlantedInRI a few months back, I took some cuttings since it was hanging out a bit with exposed roots. The new substrate, PON, seemed to be a good fit. So I will take insurance cuttings and re-pot the plant and see

    Love your Hoyas, absolutely beautiful! i live in hot dry Central California but if it's not too difficult indoors, i'd like to try growing a few of these Hoyas you've shown here.

    • @PlantedInRI
      @PlantedInRI  2 месяца назад +1

      Hoyas can be fairly hardy, and a number of them like being warm, though not necessarily hot; but look at where they grow in the wild. Humidity they would appreciate, but mine grow in ambient humidity - I don't have any cabinets or grow tents. I do use a humidifier in the winter, but the humidity doesn't go above 60%. All you can do is try. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.

    Having watched your videos for several months now, I realize that, if I want a less "leggy" hoya, I need to be particular about the variety. The only hoya i have now (i can only say it's a leggy variety) was a gift from a co-worker, so I intend to keep it, but i will now keep an eye out for something like H. lacunosa. Thanks for creating this channel.

      Yes, some species are "leggy", but the light can also contribute to that. In addition to H lacunosa, you could also check out H bella, H heuschkeliana, and H davidcummingii. Thank you for watching and sharing your comment.

    What a great video and beautiful hoyas! How often do you fertilize your hoyas and what do you use? Thanks.

    • @PlantedInRI
      @PlantedInRI  2 месяца назад

      The great majority of my Hoyas are in wick-based self-watering pots; most in pon but some in an organic mix. Because that's a semi-hydro set-up, the reservoirs get filled with a nutrient solution, so they're constantly fed. Pon has no nutrients, so water alone won't do it. I've been using the GH "Flora" series, but any good hydroponic plant food should work. Thanks for watching and asking your questions.

      Love your channel and seeing these lovely Hoyas! Thank you for sharing and for the information you give on the Hoyas as you go along in the video. I typically like the larger leaf Hoya but when I saw your video on Hoya Lacunosa I picked up a few different ones and I find myself enjoying them very much! Take care. 👌🪴🥰

    Someone said the lacunosa bloom smelled like Chanel no 4 or 5. I really like the smell

    • @PlantedInRI
      @PlantedInRI  2 месяца назад +2

      I, too, like the smell of H lacunosa. I'm not familiar with the scents of Chanel, so I don't know about that one. If you like H lacunosa you should find a H davidcummingii. I love the scent of that one too, and it blooms a lot; not sweet, sort of cinnamon spicy. Thanks for watching and commenting.
