Med School Insiders Could you tell me how do you make this kind of animated videos? Which software do you use? How do you edit? I really want to learn. Please reply.
@@srijonisaha9017 The 9 Best Animation Software for Beginners and Beyond Audodesk Maya, Adobe Animate, and Houdini are excellent animation software options for beginners to pros. Here are six more options, free and premium. Animation software can help bring your ideas to life-and the screen. Whether you’re animating for a feature film, video game, or personal project, animation software can help you achieve your goals. If you’re animating on a budget, there’s plenty of free animation software that can enhance your artistry at no cost. Below, we walk through nine of the best animation software options-free and premium. You can use Autodesk Maya to take a standard motion capture clip and create your own custom animation. 1. Autodesk Maya Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro Many beginner animators want to know: What animation software does Disney use? Well, look no further-while Disney artists use a variety of animation software, one of the most popular choices is Autodesk Maya. (If your question, on the other hand, is “What animation software does Pixar use?” it’s a proprietary software that’s not available to animators outside of the company.) For many professional animators and animation studios, Autodesk Maya is the industry standard. This 3D animation software is ideal for character creation, modeling, simulation, motion graphics, and more. It’s been used to create animation for movies including “Finding Nemo,” “Monsters, Inc.,” and “Avatar.” After a free trial, pricing begins at $122 per month (for a three-year license), although monthly plans are also available. If you’re a current student, you may be able to access Autodesk Maya for free. 2. Adobe Animate Adobe Animate 2D animation software enables you to create basic vector characters and easily animate them. Use on: Windows, Mac OS Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro If you want to create a traditional cartoon, Adobe Animate is a great 2D animation software option. With this software, you have the ability to animate using a variety of different techniques, including hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation, as well as puppet animation, which allows you to manipulate a character rig without redrawing it. You can even import a character created in Procreate or another illustration tool and animate it within this software. Many shows have been created using Adobe Animate (previously known as Adobe Flash), such as “My Little Pony.” Adobe Animate is available as part of the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription model, but it can also be purchased individually (unlike some other programs, like Adobe Character Animator). 3. Adobe Character Animator Use on: Windows, Mac OS Best for: Beginners Adobe Character Animator is perfect for beginners, even those with very little animation experience. That’s because creating and animating a character in this program requires very few animation skills. Here’s how it works: You choose a character (called a puppet), which can be your own artwork imported from Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator. Then, the program uses your computer’s microphone and camera to detect your voice and movements and animate the character. Essentially, you use your own performance to animate a character in real time. Whatever you do with your face-including your mouth, eyes, and eyebrows-your character does. Plus, you can add in other movements, like hand gestures. Ultimately, this allows beginners to create animations quickly and easily. However, it’s best used for animations that are mostly dialogue, as there is limited functionality to create action and physical movement. Interested in seeing an example? Showtime’s “Our Cartoon President” is created with this animation software. Character Animator is available as part of Adobe Creative Cloud’s “All Apps” plan. 4. Cinema 4D Cinema 4D animation software can be used to create and texture 3D objects, and then light, animate, and render them out for final use. Use on: Windows, Mac OS Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro Cinema 4D is a 3D animation software that’s ideal for animators at every level, from beginner to pro. Originally developed for Amiga (a computer company that’s no longer in production), the software is now available for Windows and Mac operating systems. In addition to animating, you can use the software for modeling, lighting, texturing, visual effects, and more. It features an intuitive interface, as well as a customizable layout to fit your needs and preferences. An annual subscription starts at about $60 per month. 5. Toon Boom Harmony Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro Toon Boom Harmony is an industry-leading 2D animation software. You can use it for frame-by-frame animation or rig animation. In fact, if you’re used to hand-drawing your animations, this software offers unique and robust tools for scanning and cleaning up your drawings. While this software is appropriate for beginners, it’s not limited to those just starting out. Major studios have used Toon Boom Harmony to create shows such as “Rick and Morty,” “Family Guy,” and “SpongeBob SquarePants.” Animators can choose between three different levels of the software, which each offer different features and price points. The most basic package starts at $25 per month. 6. Houdini Houdini can be used to animate an auto rig-essentially, a character that you can manipulate to create movements. Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux Best for: Experienced to pro An advanced animation tool, Houdini has been used in several well-known feature films, including “Frozen” and “Zootopia.” Houdini offers what’s called a procedural workflow, which generates animation in real time. This is used to simulate things like smoke, fire, water, hair, fur, and clothing. Ultimately, this allows animators to create dynamic and realistic effects. Another unique feature of Houdini is its nodes-based workflow. Every action is stored in a node, which can be rearranged and adjusted to refine the final product. This provides flexibility and cost-effectiveness that isn’t always possible with other types of software. Even with these advanced features, Houdini is intuitive and easy to use, making it one of the most powerful and robust animation software options available. The more advanced versions of Houdini are available to purchase; however, students and hobbyists can access a pared-down version of Houdini to use for non-commercial projects for free. 7. Pencil2D Pencil2D, an open-source 2D animation software, allows users to create a traditional, hand-drawn style of animation. Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux Best for: Beginners A more traditional 2D animation software, Pencil2D allows users to create hand-drawn, animated scenes. Pencil2D is an open-source platform, so multiple users-even you-can contribute to its capabilities and features. As a result, it’s one of the best free animation software options out there. The software boasts the ability for users to seamlessly switch between raster (also known as bitmap) and vector workflows, as well as add layers. Overall, the software is fairly minimal and easy to use, so you can focus primarily on your animating. However, advanced animators may not find that the features are robust enough for their preferences. 8. Blender Using Blender, this artist has created the animation of a spooky cloth ghost rising from the floor. Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro If you’re looking for free animation software, take a look at Blender. Blender stands out from other options in that it is an open-source 3D animation suite. That means it’s been developed by many contributors from around the world-so you can be sure that it offers robust and varied capabilities. Blender supports the entire animation workflow from start to finish: modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, and video editing. Users also appreciate that they can import external objects, such as textures and other animations. Did we mention it’s free? 9. After Effects Animators can use Adobe After Effects for everything from setting up a canvas to animating a character. Use on: Windows, Mac OS Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro After Effects, an addition to Adobe Creative Cloud, can bring your animations to the next level. Considered the industry standard for motion graphics and visual effects, After Effects integrates with Adobe Creative Cloud apps and other software/hardware providers to offer you complex animation capabilities. Although not ideal for frame-by-frame animation, this powerful tool can be used to create 2D and 3D animations, as well as real-life motion graphics. This software is available starting at about $21 per month for an annual subscription. Whatever your experience level or goals, there are plenty of animation software options to choose from. These tools can help bring your characters and ideas to life-and you’ll have fun along the way.
1. Bed/wake time consistency 2. Pre-bed time routine (shower, limit screen use 30 minutes before bedtime. 3. Find an alarm system that works for you (sleep cycle alarm clocks, spin cycle, wake up lights) 4. Room should be pitch black 5. Avoid naps as possible or keep them short (15 min) 6. Avoid stimulants before bed 7. Bed is for sleep only 8. Place the alarm on the other side of the room
i've been through crazy cycles of 2houre nap and sleeping 4 houres at night waking up without alarm middle of night. keeps you tired all day but you're up early
lxr_lxn FOR REAL! I set a 20 minute alarm, ok one more, alright one more, mmm I’ll finish it off with a half an hour nap, alright fuck it I obviously need sleep we’ll see how long my body snoozes *wakes up 4 hours later* sighhh
TheUnleashedZombie I'm not a med school student either, and this helped because I have to go to McDonald's with my cousin's tomorrow morning at like 10:30. considering that I normally sleep until 2:00-3:00 PM, (or the whole day if I could) getting up that early is hard. I know this will probably never help (I don't think I should even attempt at sleep anymore considering that I probably will never get more than 6hours ) but I still thought this video was good, and could of helped anyone but me
Ok, here's one tip of mine that has helped me. When you wake up you have to have something that you're looking forward to, if it's making hot chocolate, coffee, a nice breakfast or even taking a shower. Hope this helped!
I'm not sure but go to 3:31, set speed to 0.25 and look at the zzz being drawn, it's just 2 images of the hand with the pen "alternating" and moving over the screen
The best sleep I ever had in my entire life was when I was moving to a new house. There was just so much work throughout the entire day, I could fall asleep within 5 minutes and the moment I woke up I was energized. It was surreal.
Actually, anything past 7-8 hours is shown to have negative affects on your health/consciousness. Unless you have any serious health conditions that are draining you physically, try and limit the am mount of hours you sleep. P.S. - How is it that I know these things? Why, I'm pulling an all-nighter for PSYC 1030 of course.
I remember when I was watching Persona 4 I was anxious to get up so I could have more time to watch it before school, haven't done it since, guess I should
KeenBread I had to deal with some kids, and GOSH!!! That was the worst decision I could have ever made, my nerves are destroyed and I am wake at 4:30, I've never been this late… this suck
As a farmer (who commutes for work), I appreciate this. My mornings start at 3. His advice is solid. I'd only suggest, to those of you who have physical labor jobs, adding a series of stretches to his advice for nightly routines.
1. Workout 2. Don’t eat too much sugars after 8 3. Don’t eat 2 hours before sleeptime 4. Drink lots of water 5. Eat moderately and good amounts of protein and carbs. 6. Sleep early
I am literally shocked at how helpful your videos are (I've watched 2). These are perfect, concise, visual, excellent communication, the whole bit. I never comment on anything ever- I can't believe these only have 400 or so views. Spread these videos far and wide!!!! Will continue to watch. Thanks again. -Nurse with a Dream
+AquaAnim I can't give an expert response but believe sleeping patters are a matter of habitual behavior. I've been in jobs that required me to have vastly different and somewhat extreme sleep patters requirements. In most cases, I adapted fine, even if it might have initially been a rough transition. A person's circadian rhythm typically takes roughly 72 hours to adapt to new sleep patters if a person is disciplined in getting to bed by a certain time and prepares (important) to be in bed by that time. After that period, the person should adapt sufficiently and get adequate sleep. In one case, I never adapted, because I had a need to work from 4:00PM-4:00AM, while also having a need to attend a daily meeting at 12:00PM. You can imagine, I didn't get much rest. However, I will say that in extreme situations, a person's mind and body, can be sufficiently resilient to still function, even if it obviously has a degrading effect. I would advise that people do not put themselves in these types of situations if at all possible. This can be dangerous in many ways. The situation I described was somewhat extreme, based on limited duration and important needs.
RedondoBeach2 Thanks so much for your reply, I'm going into the sleep studies field, I find it really interesting that we are still to this day finding out new things about sleep. Recently scientists have found over 15 genes in our DNA linked to sleep habits. Thought you might find some of this interesting! www.fastcodesign.com/3046391/morning-people-vs-night-people-9-insights-backed-by-science www.sciencealert.com/this-one-factor-may-explain-why-you-re-a-morning-person-or-a-night-owl
RedondoBeach2 what about night owls like me. I can't (and by can't I mean I fucking can't) sleep till its 4 am in the morning. Then I have to get up at 8 to catch my class at 9. I sometimes feel like I have smoked weed the whole day.
For waking up early, we have to sleep enough and go to bed early. But how to go sleeping when we've got a test on tomorrow and we started to cram for it today!?
Cram all you like I say, so does science actually, to a degree. Recent studies in mice have shown that memories are made simultaneously in the cortex and hippocampus and that the long term memories in the hippocampus take 3 days to be laid down. You can study early and use long term memory or late and use the cortex, either way it will be accessible from a minimum of one location. Make up your own mind though (apologies for the pun, it was just too easy).
Thank you! My 14 yr old stepdaughter is a night owl, which results in battles every morning. She's asked for my help, so I'm going to share this video with her.
I've done that before. I found what works for me is to make it far enough where I can't just reach it without moving, but be close enough where I only need to sit up to get at my phone. I use three different alarms with different sounds, and randomly every couple weeks I'll change which sounds they are so my brain doesn't get used to it.
Haha, if that's the way you wanna live life, sure. I'm not on this planet to feel miserable. And I know, feeling miserable in a Ferrari is better then on a bike, but it's not worth it to me.
30 minutes of yoga-like stretching with some nice relaxing music on and I fall asleep as soon as I hit my pillow, EVERY TIME. Doing this before bed works better than anything I have ever used to fall asleep. Heck, if I do this at two in the afternoon I immediately want to sleep. It is beyond relaxing.
+Melody same here. And it's impossible when you work randomized hours. I need consistency. And light in the mornings which we do not get here 50% of the year, then the other 50% it's light all damn night. Light at 11pm, light at 4 am.
Med School Insiders yes, I just discovered your channel and it is amazing! I will start following your tips so I can improve my lifestyle! Thanks a lot! Cheers
I always watch these and every time I hear the consistent sleep time, I laugh. I work 5-11 Thursday and my weekends, 5p-5a on Fridays and will be working either 3-11 or 11-7 on Tuesdays. Also have school at 8am on Monday and Wednesday.
Fair point :P, then i end up sitting on my hands looking at the four walls hahah. ITS ALL I KNOW, might have to try meditating. I guess it doesn't help not actually going outside either. Uni has made me a hermit.
I use flux, i also have most white backgrounds turn to black at night when it is applicable. set two alarms, one for going to bed, one for waking up. Actually what really did help is having a dream journal. Sounds stupid, but i found that i just didn't want to sleep. Being able to remember my dreams gave them purpose, i didn't see sleep as wasting 8 hours of my life every night.
I'm also studying computer science in switzerland... It's impossible for anyone at a recognised computer science school doing the things that were shown in the video, we simply don't have the time and there's way to much pressure coming down on us. I go to zurich to the University come home, revise revise revise.... And than I turn off the computer brush my tooth and go to bed and in the next mornin I have to catch the train to zurich again. But if u want to be a really good computer scientist there is no way arround that... I rest on weekends and during hollidays, u simply gotta live with it...
you can buy those orange glasses from amazon they filter out the blue light in screens so your brain is not tricked and you can sleep. it works wonders I swear
I'm a game designer, not a doctor, but I've worked my share of 20 hour days (and a few 48-72 hour days during particularly rough crunch times), so I certainly understand the importance of sleep (though I hate having to do it). I also understand and agree with much of what was said in this vid, but I don't really understand the "get up earlier and you'll have tons of extra time to get stuff done" thing. In order to maintain the proper amount of sleep, getting up earlier means you also have to go to bed earlier, so, really, your day is the same length, just offset. Also, getting up hours before you have to be at work (and maybe getting some work done before your work day starts, as you mentioned) means that you're starting your official shift when, mentally, you feel like you've already been working for several hours. It's not bonus time so much as it's just increasing the length of your workday. As a bit of a workaholic, I personally don't mind doing that, but let's be real that that's what's happening there. You'll get more work done, but only because you're working longer. Your real shift still ends when it would normally end. Honestly, I prefer staying up late and working at night for many of the same benefits you likely get at 3:30a (fewer distractions, e.g., as everyone else is asleep). And despite various studies which have shown that sleeping during the day is supposedly less restful, I find that -- regardless of how much or little sleep I've gotten -- I perk up at night and drag during the day. And I have zero difficulty falling or staying asleep when the sun is up whereas I often struggle to sleep at night. Also, left to my own devices, my sleep schedule revolves around the clock as if my body is on a 30-ish hour day, so I'm not sure that the same advice applies to everyone. There may be a standard rhythm, but I think some people really are naturally nightowls. Or, in my case, living on Martian time. All that being said, good advice for relaxing and getting to sleep here. Screens and caffeine no longer have any real effect on me, but people like my gf could definitely benefit from the apps you mentioned as she struggles to fall asleep more than anyone I've ever met. Additionally, for myself, I've found that listening to binaural beats in the delta range can help, as can the various RUclips channels with ambient "white noise" such as "rainy town square at night" and whatnot. I've also tried a few different "sleep meditation" videos/audios that have worked quite well, including one designed as a "space journey to the subconscious" (or something) that I've never heard past the 15 minute mark because it knocks me right out every time.
+Rabbit Punch he's referring to the the time where they do 72 hours straight to finish games before release. He's likening the one incredibly long work stretch to one work day as there's no chance to sleep.
Hollywood John I can say, for myself, that the morning hours are when I have more energy and am better able to focus. for me waking up earlier is better than staying up late. for me, 3 hours in the AM ≠ 3 hours in the PM. as the author stated way more productive with the morning hours. I wake up 3 hours before I need to see my first patient, review labs, records, the coming cases, and clear my inbox. I'm also able to eat breakfast and have my 1 cup of coffee. in the afternoon all that would take 4 to 5 hours easy. by them my brain is full of all the things that have already happened and I'm fatigued/distracted. plus once my last note is signed I can go home and spend the next 3-4 hours with my family and really be there with them. there are no distractions, everything is always caught up. I think more people would be productive if they shifted their schedule to go to bed early and wake up early. humans are naturally more alert in the morning. it's how we are wired. that said I know it isn't necessarily true for everyone. we're not Toyota corollas so what works for most isn't necessarily true for all. do what makes you successful.
actually, for me it often takes until ~5 pm that I become really productive, so that's why I often also program until midnight or sometimes even longer
I think he's talking about being more productive by waking up early because that's the time where most people work and supposedly where the expectations about your productivity should be higher, since your boss is probably expecting you to work more at your workplace where he can see it. In your case it's different because you are able to speed up the work and deliver to your boss in the same way. As a medic, he probably have to be at his workplace to do some of his work. And you can benefit by getting earlier at your job because you don't get there late and your boss is going to notice that you are dedicated at your work. Even though this may not be true. I agree that you have less distractions at night and i prefer to work at night as well usually going to sleep at 3-4am, but nobody notice the work that you do backstage, unfortunately.
Watched it about 1 year ago and didn't follow the tips........now from 2 weeks I got determined and to wake up early no matter what and have been successful....I wake up everyday at 4 am....Thanks to u.
the best morning routine video so far.. it tells you the things in a simple way, rather than showing those glittery things or fancy things most people use in their videos (no offence, it's just an opinion). SIMPLE , STRAIGHTFORWARD AND VERY INFORMATIVE video. great job. hope to see some more productivity videos like this.
I have been sleeping on a couch that is about 20 inches shorter than me for 3 and a half years and in this same couch where I wrote this comment I play Playstation, watch TV, eat, smoke (not always) while watching YT videos, pet my cat and almost every night I fall asleep with this same laptop on. These tips are helpful but not if you don't have a bed and can't afford one but I still wake up happy only because I have a mother and a cat that love me, despite the physical pain, bad diggestion, fur allergy, asthma... Overall I'm going through an ungrateful phase of my life :)
I'm not sure what your condition is, and I am no doctor, but it sounds like you have to get up and move. Exercise. I've been in some pain too from not doing anything due to social anxiety, but I've finally have had enough and got myself to apply for a job. Good luck.
You cannot be in asthma, fur allergy and bad digestion forever friend. You will eventually get an ulcer and asthma can aggravate. You smoke too?!... That's really bad.
I work in an industry that limits us to working during daylight hours, so we frequently arrive at work well before dawn - in the summer that boils down to 3 or 4am wake ups. Getting a sunrise alarm clock changed my LIFE. I'm gonna check out these hue lights. Thanks!
A problem of mine is that I start school at different hours every day, weather 8:30, 9:30 or 10:30, but I think I'm gonna try and wake up at the same hour everyday for some time, even if I start later in the morning ^^ Also having a light subject to think about at night time helps me a lot, I try and supress any negative thought I can have to avoid getting into a depressing circle of thoughts that keep you awake, and rather find a fun and light subject to let your mind wonder about, like how would your character be in the world of the book you just read, how to design the smallest house ever, what modifications you'd like to make to a lego build..
scalp vessels do not compress that easily and it has a fantasitic blood supply so no problems there. Your brain gets via internal carotid so no problem there either
Ashley Knapp he stated in the beginning of the video that there are other tips available to help you get improved sleep hygiene besides hius video. However, he was going to only talk about what worked for him in this video.
I love getting up early expecting to be happy, have a nice breakfast that I can eat quickly so I won't be late wherever I have to go. I love getting up early to a nice blue sky. I love getting up early not hearing my parents yelling at me to get up. I love getting up early not feeling stressed about the next day. That everything is gonna be fine. I'm going to feel totally awake, and *happy.* But that almost never happens, I wake up getting out of bed confused and dazed af seeing a damn bagel on the table. I look outside and it's always gray, no sun. My parents are yelling at me to "get up, we're going to be late." I feel stressed, that nothing's going to be okay and I'm gonna have to deal with something called reality. I'm not happy when I wake up early. No I'm not. Sometimes I wish I don't wake up tomorrow, but of course I wake up tomorrow. It's an about 10 month long cycle of feeling like crap waking up and feeling tired when I go to sleep. Reality sucks ass. No day is good when I have to work/ go to school only when I have to do the same exact thing tomorrow. When I don't have to work and I can relax is a good day. I can only do that on Saturday. Until June, July, and August comes around so I can be happy.
Small window unit air conditioner for the bedroom. I turn it on maybe an hour before bed to a comfortable sleeping temperature. It's cheaper than cooling your whole apartment/house to 63 degrees or whatever, and the white noise is great.
cooling to 63 degrees? what the actual fuck? Do you have a burning house? but seriously at least write Fahrenheit in the future, everyone assumes Celsius since it's the worldwide standard...
once, I woke up 2 hours later than the time I usually have to get up at and I was extremely late for sch the first time in my entire sch life HAHAHA I didn't hear any alarm at all
Thank you for the Very Informative video. I will try this I am just not a morning person. so When I get up late I am constantly running behind on everything trying to catch up on everything its exhausting and it puts me in a bad mood. so thanks for the tips
I'm 16 (about to be 17 in a couple weeks) What I do to wake up consistently without that groggy feeling is to go to bed and wake up at their usual times. For me, every night I go to bed at 10pm to 11pm and wake up every morning at 630am. There's even some mornings where I would wake up a couple minutes before the alarm would go on (hinting that the body is now used to it) I have blinds to cover any outside light but when the light comes in, it really helps waking me up. And that light is better to wake up to rather than phone light, since humans for millions of years have waken up to the sun usually and so we are built to wake up to that. You may want to switch your alarm often since if your brain keeps hearing a specific song, it will be built to not like the song and so you will try to turn it off as fast as possible and probably fall back to sleep. But if you hear a song you haven't heard in a whole but you like it, your brain will be awake to hear the song, giving your brain the chance to wake up better than no sound. If you have a conventional fan (like those box fans or something), turn them off. Your brain will stop listening to the soothing sounds of the white noise and will wake up faster. If you have a AC, try turning it down a little so the room sorta warms up a little. Turning on the room light is way better than using your phone flashlight (unless you have woken up to the sun fully) These are my tips. They may all not fit you but it's what I found useful. Maybe try some of these yourself and reply back to see if any of these helped you out. Thanks for reading
What kind of doctor is he? I would love to have a convo with this man I'm 18 and have a passion for medicine and plan on going through pre med... currently working for a LVN liscence to work while going to school.. from what I have read and watched about pre med by far this guy is the best I really love your videos
For me it’s really important to watch my sleep phases. Everyone needs to figure his own sleep phase length out on his own. But for me it’s often ways easier to wake up very early and refreshed after 3-4 hours of sleep instead of 5-6 hours. So if I want to get a good sleep and wake up early I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep and if I can’t get them it’s sometimes better for me to get a little less sleep, to be able to wake up refreshed.
I really like this idea of placing an alarm on the other side of the room to force you wake up so that you could switch it off which in turn will make u not to go back sleeping
I've resorted to wearing sleep masks and ear plugs when going to bed because my boyfriend insists on watching tv until 3am in the morning, ugh! Only a couple more months of my dietetic internship though, so closeee! Thanks for the tips :)
hey! @medschoolinsiders! your channel is awesome, just found it today. have you ever considered podcasting? you obviously put a lot of effort into these videos and they're well produced with good content, -and there is a big audience looking for this type of material over on the podcast app. I for one use the podcast app daily while i'm at work, youtube isn't exactly all that useable, or at least isn't optimized for listening while doing something in the background (driving, exercising, working, cooking.....) also with podcasts you can download them and listen anywhere, a feature youtube certainly lacks. I'm not sure what's required to start one but i can't imagine its much more than you're already doing! thanks for all your content.
I finally managed to wake up early since I started working on my youtube channel more intensively, especially on weekdays. On the weekends I tend to revert to a weekend schedule because I really feel it helps with the accumulated sleep deficit during the week.
who even needs sleep? I've gone through days just fine without any sleep! (*no longer wonders why people say she's insane*) I normally get about 1-5 hours of sleep, and I'm probably the most energetic person ever
They did an interresting experiment on the subject during the war. After 7 days with no sleep, you halucinate and cannot distinguish between what is real and your own 'dreams'. For exemple, the guy was describing that his room was on fire... when it was not. So, no sleep = very bad idea. Also, they found that if you do it for more than 4 days, you end up hurting the cells in your brain. In the end you will end up damaging your brain. Simple as that.
Is there a blog of this? I like the information and your speaking voice is nice and clear, but dang that "I'm totally drawing this" aesthetic of the video is not great for me and distracting as hell. I'm really having a personal problem with vector images "coming out" of a sharpie.
So it 5:30am, I have to get up for school at 7:00am I have not see any videos by this channel, I am not subscribed to the channel, I do not associate in any way with this genre of videos. But through some miracle, I am recommended this video. I am going to get, at most, 1:30 of sleep. And who says there is no God?
John Doe doubtful it likely may be a computer program that makes it look like a hand it writing the words. what really gives it away is that the marker is way to consistent in color, no smears, nothing like that.
Des Sad This may seem like a bad generic response, but choosing a specialty is different for each person, just keep an open mind and try new things. Think about what you enjoy doing and see if there are any jobs on the rise for that field. Also remember to be realistic. Don't let yourself chase after a dream that isn't for you. If you don't want to be a doctor (or you are just doing it for money), don't be a doctor. It may seem simple, but this can be a really hard decision for many people.
ThePikachu00200 Thanks for the reply! I just read the comments and that video idea sounded good XD I'm still in my third year so have a looooong way to go, just thought a video to let me know what would be ahead of me would be great
When it comes to choosing a career, it's best to find something that you're interested in and can realistically find a job in. Flexibility in job choices from the degree is also good if your preferred career path is crowded and competitive. Depending on your field, I'd recommend being aware of any automation/outsourcing as well. In my previous career in insurance, I watched as they began eliminating positions here in the US through a combination of automation and outsourcing to India (where they could hire doctors for a lot less than American doctors to summarize all of the medical information on applicants). Granted, for most medical fields that isn't an issue, but it is one ppl should take into account.
I recently started trying sleeping strategies for falling asleep fast and I found that I'm able to relax my body and clear my mind really fast. Even when I watched some videos a couple minutes before, I can still fall asleep between 5-15 minutes. I'm going to continue practicing this skill to decrease my time as much as possible

Med School Insiders Could you tell me how do you make this kind of animated videos? Which software do you use? How do you edit? I really want to learn. Please reply.
@@srijonisaha9017 The 9 Best Animation Software for Beginners and Beyond
Audodesk Maya, Adobe Animate, and Houdini are excellent animation software options for beginners to pros.
1. Autodesk Maya
Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro
Many beginner animators want to know: What animation software does Disney use? Well, look no further-while Disney artists use a variety of animation software, one of the most popular choices is Autodesk Maya. (If your question, on the other hand, is “What animation software does Pixar use?” it’s a proprietary software that’s not available to animators outside of the company.)
For many professional animators and animation studios, Autodesk Maya is the industry standard. This 3D animation software is ideal for character creation, modeling, simulation, motion graphics, and more. It’s been used to create animation for movies including “Finding Nemo,” “Monsters, Inc.,” and “Avatar.”
After a free trial, pricing begins at $122 per month (for a three-year license), although monthly plans are also available. If you’re a current student, you may be able to access Autodesk Maya for free.
2. Adobe Animate
Adobe Animate 2D animation software enables you to create basic vector characters and easily animate them.
Use on: Windows, Mac OS
Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro
If you want to create a traditional cartoon, Adobe Animate is a great 2D animation software option.
3. Adobe Character Animator
Use on: Windows, Mac OS
Best for: Beginners
Adobe Character Animator is perfect for beginners, even those with very little animation experience.
4. Cinema 4D
Cinema 4D animation software can be used to create and texture 3D objects, and then light, animate, and render them out for final use.
Use on: Windows, Mac OS
Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro
Cinema 4D is a 3D animation software that’s ideal for animators at every level, from beginner to pro.
5. Toon Boom Harmony
Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro
Toon Boom Harmony is an industry-leading 2D animation software. You can use it for frame-by-frame animation or rig animation. In fact, if you’re used to hand-drawing your animations, this software offers unique and robust tools for scanning and cleaning up your drawings.
While this software is appropriate for beginners, it’s not limited to those just starting out. Major studios have used Toon Boom Harmony to create shows such as “Rick and Morty,” “Family Guy,” and “SpongeBob SquarePants.”
Animators can choose between three different levels of the software, which each offer different features and price points. The most basic package starts at $25 per month.
6. Houdini
Houdini can be used to animate an auto rig-essentially, a character that you can manipulate to create movements.
Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
Best for: Experienced to pro
An advanced animation tool, Houdini has been used in several well-known feature films, including “Frozen” and “Zootopia.” Houdini offers what’s called a procedural workflow, which generates animation in real time.
7. Pencil2D
Pencil2D, an open-source 2D animation software, allows users to create a traditional, hand-drawn style of animation.
Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
Best for: Beginners
A more traditional 2D animation software, Pencil2D allows users to create hand-drawn, animated scenes.
8. Blender
Using Blender, this artist has created the animation of a spooky cloth ghost rising from the floor.
Use on: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro
If you’re looking for free animation software, take a look at Blender.
9. After Effects
Animators can use Adobe After Effects for everything from setting up a canvas to animating a character.
Use on: Windows, Mac OS
Best for: Everyone, beginner to pro
After Effects, an addition to Adobe Creative Cloud, can bring your animations to the next level.

I'm not a med school student but this sounds extremely helpful for me despite that. Thanks for the tips!
TheUnleashedZombie I'm not a med school student either, and this helped because I have to go to McDonald's with my cousin's tomorrow morning at like 10:30. considering that I normally sleep until 2:00-3:00 PM, (or the whole day if I could) getting up that early is hard. I know this will probably never help (I don't think I should even attempt at sleep anymore considering that I probably will never get more than 6hours ) but I still thought this video was good, and could of helped anyone but me
TheUnleashedZombie same, if I join jazz band this year I'm going to have to wake up an extra hour earlier this year

Ok, here's one tip of mine that has helped me.
When you wake up you have to have something that you're looking forward to, if it's making hot chocolate, coffee, a nice breakfast or even taking a shower. Hope this helped!
I'm only looking forward to sleep more :(
Yes it worked

Actually, anything past 7-8 hours is shown to have negative affects on your health/consciousness.
Unless you have any serious health conditions that are draining you physically, try and limit the am mount of hours you sleep.

RedondoBeach2 Some people are genetically dispositioned to be night owls though?
Le Greg study before and dont cram ...
Med School Insiders me too, but try explaining my parents why i only studied 2 hours and went to sleep at 9 for " good sleep"

30 minutes of yoga-like stretching with some nice relaxing music on and I fall asleep as soon as I hit my pillow, EVERY TIME. I always watch these and every time I hear the consistent sleep time, I laugh. I work 5-11 Thursday and my weekends, 5p-5a on Fridays and will be working either 3-11 or 11-7 on Tuesdays. Also have school at 8am on Monday and Wednesday.
rip computer science students.... Where you are always on a screen and have no circadian rhythm... My sleeping pattern is so chaotic...
I live at night and sleep at light.
Hollywood John almost positive that there are 24 hours in a day
+Rabbit Punch he's referring to the the time where they do 72 hours straight to finish games before release.
Lmao WhY aM i miserable when i wake up i literally can turn anything negative at 6 am?!?
R. MacDonald b
R. MacDonald because 6am is really early...
same thing. sometimes I wake up in SUCH a bad mood..
boii, I have to wake up at 5:00 am whenever I have school. ugh, tomorrow's a Monday 😑
Enrique Banez ahah I'm off for 2 weeks
Watched it about 1 year ago and didn't follow the tips........now from 2 weeks I got determined and to wake up early no matter what and have been successful....I wake up everyday at 4 am....Thanks to u.
the best morning routine video so far.. it tells you the things in a simple way, rather than showing those glittery things or fancy things most people use in their videos (no offence, it's just an opinion). SIMPLE , STRAIGHTFORWARD AND VERY INFORMATIVE video. great job. hope to see some more productivity videos like this.
"limiting screen time" *watches tis in my bed while I meant to sleep
I have been sleeping on a couch that is about 20 inches shorter than me for 3 and a half years and in this same couch where I wrote this comment I play Playstation, watch TV, eat, smoke (not always) while watching YT videos, pet my cat and almost every night I fall asleep with this same laptop on. These tips are helpful but not if you don't have a bed and can't afford one but I still wake up happy only because I have a mother and a cat that love me, despite the physical pain, bad diggestion, fur allergy, asthma... Overall I'm going through an ungrateful phase of my life :)
Big S. WHY DONT YOU SLEEP ON A BED?
I'm not sure what your condition is, and I am no doctor, but it sounds like you have to get up and move. Exercise. I've been in some pain too from not doing anything due to social anxiety, but I've finally have had enough and got myself to apply for a job. Good luck.
You cannot be in asthma, fur allergy and bad digestion forever friend. You will eventually get an ulcer and asthma can aggravate. You smoke too?!... That's really bad.
Lolz you'll get through this 😂
I work in an industry that limits us to working during daylight hours, so we frequently arrive at work well before dawn - in the summer that boils down to 3 or 4am wake ups.
Getting a sunrise alarm clock changed my LIFE. I'm gonna check out these hue lights. Thanks!
"no screen time 30 min. Before bed"
*Watching this at **12:00** Am while the rest of my family is asleep* the bed is so comfy
A problem of mine is that I start school at different hours every day, weather 8:30, 9:30 or 10:30, but I think I'm gonna try and wake up at the same hour everyday for some time, even if I start later in the morning ^^
Also having a light subject to think about at night time helps me a lot, I try and supress any negative thought I can have to avoid getting into a depressing circle of thoughts that keep you awake, and rather find a fun and light subject to let your mind wonder about, like how would your character be in the world of the book you just read, how to design the smallest house ever, what modifications you'd like to make to a lego build..
Sleep masks are great. Cheap, dark, portable and easier to implement than installing better blinds. Bedtime Bliss mask on Amazon is a great one.
Chris Flanner but they're uncomfortable.......
like a bra for your eyes
scalp vessels do not compress that easily and it has a fantasitic blood supply so no problems there. Your brain gets via internal carotid so no problem there either
Ashley Knapp he stated in the beginning of the video that there are other tips available to help you get improved sleep hygiene besides hius video. However, he was going to only talk about what worked for him in this video.
"Your bed is for sleep only!" is very good advice. Going to put this in play. No more tv, video games, etc in bed.
Not in med school (yet) but this is very helpful for my new 4 am job :-)
Desirae Hatcher did you get there? 🙂
"limiting screen use" well guess what, it's like 1:30 AM, and most likely won't even sleep until at least 3AM. great
CaptainSparkleBell hahaha, its almost 5am now here, wanted to go to bed by 2. Rip
Lol it’s almost 2am here I gotta go to school at 6
Beebo Urie FOUR AM AND GOIN TO SCHOOL AT 6
I love getting up early listen to the birds chirp it's great it's also the only time theirs peace in my house
THCBaked420 😂😂😂
If I get up early enough to, It's nice to smoke a bowl listen to some jimi Hendrix and watch the sun rise from the bottom of the sea
I'm going to feel totally awake, and *happy.*
But that almost never happens, I wake up getting out of bed confused and dazed af seeing a damn bagel on the table. I look outside and it's always gray, no sun. My parents are yelling at me to "get up, we're going to be late."
I feel stressed, that nothing's going to be okay and I'm gonna have to deal with something called reality.
HeyIt'sJohn Been dazed and confused for so long its not true
+Anne Doing thst now 😴
Rain sounds for sleep are my favorite!
Xerus you can kind of figure that out by the high number if you have a brain.
Fahrenheit ? I expected Kelvin lul KAPPA
i have a problem whole day i feel tired but when the night come my sleep just gone who else have this problem
Your circadian rhythm is accustomed to staying awake at night. Try to forcefully wake up at 5 AM for 2 weeks and things will change for sure.
This is insomnia i have this issue and you can help it by writing a "diary" for everyday or taking some melitonin and try to fix your sleep cycle
Are you taking coffee or something? Caffeine lasts at least 6hours.
Suhrab Afridi yea me 2
What is the software program he uses for this animation? I'm really curious does anyone know? It's really cool.
This guy can't be a med student! His handwriting is too good
not a med student, just a high school senior but mornings are insanely rough for me so this is helpful
I have about 10 alarms so I wake up, and because that one time I had only 1 and I didn’t wake up... After that I had 10 everytime lol.
Same...!!!
once, I woke up 2 hours later than the time I usually have to get up at and I was extremely late for sch the first time in my entire sch life HAHAHA I didn't hear any alarm at all
I would deactivate each and every one and get myself back to bed.Its like im possessed 😑
Me too very time it rings I tell google to be quiet and I go back to sleep
And I end up not waking up anyways
Thank you for the Very Informative video. I will try this I am just not a morning person. so When I get up late I am constantly running behind on everything trying to catch up on everything its exhausting and it puts me in a bad mood. so thanks for the tips
I'm 16 (about to be 17 in a couple weeks) What I do to wake up consistently without that groggy feeling is to go to bed and wake up at their usual times. For me, every night I go to bed at 10pm to 11pm and wake up every morning at 630am. There's even some mornings where I would wake up a couple minutes before the alarm would go on (hinting that the body is now used to it)
I have blinds to cover any outside light but when the light comes in, it really helps waking me up.
Turning on the room light is way better than using your phone flashlight (unless you have woken up to the sun fully)
These are my tips. They may all not fit you but it's what I found useful. Maybe try some of these yourself and reply back to see if any of these helped you out. Thanks for reading
Seeing that this video has 5M views feels I’m not alone 😂
Yeah... mee too 😂😂
What kind of doctor is he? I would love to have a convo with this man I'm 18 and have a passion for medicine and plan on going through pre med... currently working for a LVN liscence to work while going to school.. from what I have read and watched about pre med by far this guy is the best I really love your videos
What you do is take 2 promethazine pills the night before and when you wake up pop 4 caffeine pills and 1 codeine pill

How I keep myself motivated is I say to myself “you can do things in the morning, but not in the middle of the night.” I don’t know why but it works
Yesss saame
I want to be a family physician when I am old enough, thank you so much for this video it really helped me!!
Now, can you teach me how not to be miserable about and regret having woken up in the first place?
less screen time ... ffuuuuuuuuuucckkk!!!
+Med School Insiders what's most important to you at this current time in your life?
nose
Ima use this when my finals are near
For me it’s really important to watch my sleep phases. Everyone needs to figure his own sleep phase length out on his own. But for me it’s often ways easier to wake up very early and refreshed after 3-4 hours of sleep instead of 5-6 hours. So if I want to get a good sleep and wake up early I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep and if I can’t get them it’s sometimes better for me to get a little less sleep, to be able to wake up refreshed.
I don't know about other people but screens actually help me sleep I watch some bob ross then doze off
well said
@ThatGirlMae 😂😂😂😂yeah well said....
@thatgirlmae maybe a deleted reply
His voice reminds me so much of Casually Explained that I was expecting a sarcastic remark in one of his sentences.
I like your pic
cacerescristian1 I have a canvas picture of your profile picture
I really like this idea of placing an alarm on the other side of the room to force you wake up so that you could switch it off which in turn will make u not to go back sleeping
I once got up walked across the room turned off my alarm and then right back to sleep, and was late to school
I for one use the podcast app daily while i'm at work, youtube isn't exactly all that useable, or at least isn't optimized for listening while doing something in the background (driving, exercising, working, cooking.....)
also with podcasts you can download them and listen anywhere, a feature youtube certainly lacks.
I'm not sure what's required to start one but i can't imagine its much more than you're already doing!
thanks for all your content.
man u r just simply awesome
your videos just made my hard work into smart work
thanks and keep going
I will share videos to all my contacts..🙏 pranam
I finally managed to wake up early since I started working on my youtube channel more intensively, especially on weekdays. On the weekends I tend to revert to a weekend schedule because I really feel it helps with the accumulated sleep deficit during the week.
Also blinds/curtains to block out streetlight is helpful. Or an eyemask
Poppy or just close your fucking eyes lol
My sister went to med school at the Mayo medical clinic, anyway this was very helpful.
4:18 my dad used to have a construction light mounted at the ceiling over his bed to help mimic sunrise
It's interesting how important what you do before going to bed can be. I never considered the quality of sleep, only the length of sleep. Thanks!
who even needs sleep? I've gone through days just fine without any sleep! (*no longer wonders why people say she's insane*) I normally get about 1-5 hours of sleep, and I'm probably the most energetic person ever
CaptainSparkleBell me to sleep is a waste of time imo i haven slept in like 4 months and i have more energy then an cocaine adict
i havent slept since i came out the womb - the cocain's created a few extra breathholes but apart from that i've lived an excellent life!
Pfftt, I haven’t slept since the Big Bang. My name is Ghandi’s flip-flop.
It’s almost 5 am and I have to wake up at 7:20 Lol 😂😂😂
Lucky I have to wake up at 6:30.
Samiya Yusuf u both are lucky, it's 2:00 am and I have to wake up at 5 smh 😂
I have to wake up at 8:00
Samiya Yusuf I have to wake up at 5:45
Empty Souls x bruh do you go to school
From all these drawings, he seems to be more of an artist than a scientist.
my room has a huge window with a street light right outside it. investing in blackout curtains made tremendously helped my sleep.
Very great video !
Kellie Chasity I agree
This guys is actually living a life I've never encountered- literally sounds fake but okay
Is there a blog of this? I like the information and your speaking voice is nice and clear, but dang that "I'm totally drawing this" aesthetic of the video is not great for me and distracting as hell. I'm really having a personal problem with vector images "coming out" of a sharpie.
couldnt you just look away from the screen or close your eyes and listen to it?
Med School Insiders Thanks. That's super cool of you.
So it 5:30am, I have to get up for school at 7:00am
I have not see any videos by this channel, I am not subscribed to the channel, I do not associate in any way with this genre of videos.
But through some miracle, I am recommended this video.
I am going to get, at most, 1:30 of sleep.
And who says there is no God?
I like your voice. 🙊
Med School Insiders Get in there boi
Lmao
Elliot Pierson lmao
Lmao
Ya thought i was gonna say "lmao"

The blue light filter like Flux is know built into Windows 10.
I never realized that, nice! Just found it
Holy hell, is that your legit handwriting?
no, it's a program
which one?
Tommaso Guerrini VideoScribe
John Doe doubtful it likely may be a computer program that makes it look like a hand it writing the words. what really gives it away is that the marker is way to consistent in color, no smears, nothing like that.
Momiji! :O Praise kek!
I’m 13 and I love using the 8:00pm-8:30pm bedtime and 4:30am wake up time.
I'm watching in quarantine cause my parents are scolding me every morning to wake up early and do study 😩
studying makes me wanna go "NoPe'" but dont stress

video on choosing career ?
Med School Insiders just choosing one, any career.
Med School Insiders A video on how to decide on a specialty would be amazing!!
Des Sad
This may seem like a bad generic response, but choosing a specialty is different for each person, just keep an open mind and try new things.
