@@BigSunn0 good question! It's a neck plate gasket Fender used during the 70s to protect the finish from cracking or denting under the neck plate, as a lot of people overtightened the neck screws after adjusting the truss rods.
Is that the stock pickups? The tone sounds really bassy to me, I would try to eq it out a bit. Love those basses, been drooling over 70s fretless p basses with the maple neck for a little while now haha
@@jonashayes2508 stock pickups, amp tone with everything flat but bass tone rolled off for the last two clips (which is where this bass sounds best tbh to me - I want bassy from a fretless precision and it suits that neo-soul/r&B vibe). I have other basses when I want a bit more zing
Skillful playing and unlined fretless basses look so very cool 😎
@@OonaEskeli thank you so much. Yes, unlined certainly looks cooler although I prefer lined fretless because it's definitely easier 😂
Looks really cool. Been on the Hunt for a feer less p bass for a while. I do play the ultra p bass, a very good bass
Lovely bass and great playing - thanks for sharing Matt!
@@xtendless thank you for the kind words! You're more than welcome! I've still got so many basses to go through 😂
That thing is amazing!
Wouldn't a fretless precision bass be just a bass? Since the frets make it a precision bass?
I like to call it the "Imprecision Bass"
I think Derek Forbes (simple minds) used one on two of their best albums ,sons of fascination and new gold dream.
What's up with the plastic under the neck plate???

That Metal Pickup cover can make it difficult for the musician
