All I’m saying is if there is a division 2 then Cornish pirates best be in it… if someone can deposit a small fortune to their current donation/ sponsor pot. The young talent in that team will go to waste if they can’t find the money to get through next season
Potential World Cup winners in order Ireland /France/ NZ and SA (i'm not sure but i would never discount the Boks). Dark horse : Australia. There might be a big surprise with this draw. And secretly i hope Scotland would make an upset in its pool stage, and possibly qualify.
Those not in the know but when Rassie & Jacques took over the Boks in 2018 their Goal was not to win RWC 2019 but RWC 2023. 2019 was an unrealistic goal after the horror years of 2016 & 2017. But it happened & was a fantastic yet somewhat unexpected win. They selected a core groip of. Players to work with, with 2023 in mind. Only Beast, Francois Louw & Schalk Britz retired after 2019. Frans Steyn prob wont make the WC squad, but many of the others will & its not quite Dad's Army like many think. Most are peak prime age. Boks have a tough draw but are/will be better prepared than 2019.
The pod regularly goes on about "how do we sell the game?" "How do we make people care more?" Etc Yet they have a presenter (hask) who smugly and proudly brags about how he never watches any rugby!!! What hope have we got!! Ye can't have it both ways guys

The possibility of a strong 10 team second division could be extremely beneficial. Having Brands like Wasps, Worcester, and Irish in that type of league would really strengthen English Rugby and improve promotion/relegation more than it ever used to be. A long way to go until that's even possible tho. As for England... you are bang on. Pick a fly-half and build a team around them. If that's ford then pick JvP, Tuilagi, Watson, Steward, etc. If that's Farrell then pick Lozowski, Daly, Malins, and Goode for a one off tournament. If it's smith, then pick Care, Marchant, Murley, David. It sounds drastic, but with so little time, why not?? It's why Ireland have been successful on the back of Leinster.
I don't think Tindal has the best understanding of the game. That last France try from a set piece line out was just horrible defensive reads one after another all on no man's land I would say the French where shocked it worked for a try off first phase.
