Such a great video! My husband and I are planning a trip to Bulgaria next March, to celebrate our 20th anniversary and videos like these makes me even more excited! Much love from New Jersey 💞
Another beautifully shot and informative vlog from the two of you, the difference between your blogs and other travel blogs, is that it’s the places you visit you put first, the culture, the food and the history, all done with humour and enjoyment, it’s not all about tourist areas or ever feels like you put yourselves infront of the locations you visit, that’s why you are and will continue to be so successful in what you both do, you can feel the love and connection between you both, can’t wait to see the journey continue, as always enjoy and have fun on your travels
Thank you so much David, your comment honestly means the world! This is exactly what we try to convey with our videos so that fact you notice is incredible!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!!! 😍
Matt and Juila, As Always, you bring us to some of the prettiest parts of the world. Driving through mountain passes and country villages is simply stunning. Harriet and i appreciate the work that's involve to get the perfect image in Bulgaria. All that with a smile on your face. Thank You guys. Sending you lots of love💖💖💖 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
You two have delivered again, a stunning look at a country most of us know nothing about. It was a quick study but gave a lot of info. I was really impressed with the previous episode and the story about the restoration project going on. BTW, if I had not seen Julia not buy your story on the age of that high rise building, I was all set to try to sell her a bridge that I own in Brooklyn, New York, USA. There is another You Tuber I follow called "ITCHY BOOTS", a lady motor biking around the world. She had spent a long time in central Asia, so it is interesting to get your perspective of travelling some same areas by train, bus, car, and on foot. keep doing what you do, it works. I love it. Best to you both!
Gosh that is some beautiful country right there. Amazing. And you guys have truly become experts because your cinematography has become next level...you truly captured that gorgeous mountain-scape. Glad to see you guys are having a wonderful time as usual. Loved this video.
The views were stunning. Thank you for sharing the history and the geography of your stopping locations. Looking forward to Istanbul - never was able to get there when I was in Europe.
I’m a Bulgarian and I just decided to write Bulgaria in the search bar, and the first video that popped out was yours. It was uploaded 5 hours ago at the time of this comment, I haven’t started it the I appreciate you visit my country. I hope you liked it and I gotta go to sleep course it 1 am.
Such a relaxing video. How do you make it seem so effortless and easy? 😄 Love it, yet again. Thank you so much for sharing all of your travels with us! I hope your bus ride to Istanbul was a pleasant one. 💖💖
What beautiful views! You do such an amazing job not only just videoing but the drone footage is amazing as well! I just love the villages with the cobblestone streets! You be safe and thank you for sharing!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My favorite sunny happy travelers!!! Thankyou. I'm STILL stuck in bed with covid pneumonia so, I needed cheering up. Much Love! Stay safe. This was a lovely video!!😎🏜🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🥰🥰🥰🥰🇺🇸❤❤ thankyou ! I love mountains too. Oceans are my favorite.
You guys are awesome. Love your content. My fiancee and I spent a month in Plovdiv recently, and are now in Almaty actually! Pumped to see the rest of your journey to Central Asia.
What a wonderful perspective 3:41 a drone adds to videos, definitely *Awesome* ... 13:00 First time I can honestly say; *Matt you do look tired* ... Another Great video by *Matt and Julia* 😴
Oh Matt you can clearly see you're becoming sick during the progress of the video. Bulgaria is beautiful, loving you and Julia's adventures as always. Do feel better soon and get plenty rest.
Hi Matt and Julia 👋. Your drone shots were stunning. I enjoyed the shots of the countryside and also the old parts of the city. Your meal looked delicious, though I missed your usual "description of it". 😋🤣. I could see how tired you were so it was understandable you didn't make this a long vlog. Hope you had a pleasant trip to Istanbul and that both of you are well, happy and not hungry. 😊. Take care and you know that I will be eagerly awaiting seeing your upcoming adventures from Turkey. 🤗❤️🙏🌎
Beautiful! 🤩 I can imagine tiredness, combined with an involuntary fast, must have been taxing.. Thanks for capturing and conveying the beauty and the atmosphere of Plovdiv despite all that! I hope you caught some 40 winks before the bus trip! See you in Istanbul! ❤❤
I really love how you will find a combination of really gorgeous mountains and nature in central and Eastern Europe like this, and also really cool ruins (... especially the communist ones). I'm going to make a trip in the near future to this part of the world, definitely countries like Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania... I've always wanted to go to Bulgaria, too, but I don't know as much as about it. Is there any one place, just from your own experience, you really loved and would absolutely tell anyone to check out? ? ? If so, I might take it into consideration for my trip, because I really liked the places I saw from your last couple of videos... Have a good trip to Istanbul!
So glad you enjoyed it Justin 😊 we would highly recommend Plovdiv as it is such an incredible mix of old Bulgarian, Ottoman, communist and modern culture 😊 honestly one of a kind ❤️
I'd recommend you places like Plovdiv, Burgas, Nessebar, Sofia, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo and Seven Rila Lakes. These are my favourite places in Bulgaria. Check them out! :)
I would recommend you to visit Burgas or Sozopol (In the summer, becaus it is the best during the summer) Sozopol has a beautiful old city, a modern part and AMAZING beaches. There arent so many mountains there, but there are some. But if you want to feel the old culture, go to some village close to Plovdiv.
Love that you take us to these beautiful places. It would be helpful to see a map of where these places are for us in America who are not familiar where these places geographically are. Thank you.
There is 0 Ottoman architecture in Plovdiv except the Mosque. In the old town you have the Bulgarian Revival architecture. The history of these building is incredible :D
I’ve enjoyed your videos for a while now. I find your traveling destinations fascinating. I have an honest question for you both- do you ever miss being at “home”? In other words, do you tire of traveling? I guess the answer would be no, otherwise you wouldn’t be doing this channel! But I’m just so curious to hear in your own words, your thoughts and feelings about not “going home” after, say, a week long vacation/holiday, as so many do. I’m such a homebody, so for me this is so fascinating to watch your videos and all the traveling you guys do. ❤️
For sure 😊 Especially during the tougher moments, like after spending 24 hours a bus with no sleep or dealing with awful accommodation 😘 Constantly living out of a suitcase has definitely been tough on our body’s, but of course, we love it 🥰❤️
"The official language of Bulgaria is Bulgarian"... it's obscure facts like these which keep me coming back to your channel. ;) Oooh, both getting a little punchy there at the end!
An excellent video, Matt andJulia. Bulgaria is beautiful and a big country. Travelling by bus is good provided you are prepared to travel in the middle of the night. The country offers good food and fine wine! 👍
I went to Graduate School in Sofia in 1991. It was awesome. Went back several times. Probably the most corrupt country on the planet. The people however are great.
Bulgaria and Turkey are both influenced by Byzantine architecture, being part of the Byzantine empire and the west by Roman architecture being part of the Roman Empire. Ottoman architecture is based on Byzantine architecture since the Turkic tribes were nomadic tribes and mainly used movable structures such as yurts.
This video was wonderful!
I went to Bulgaria 🇧🇬 once and thought they had the best cucumbers and cherries 🍒

Is this not where the cyrillic alphabet was first invented?
Indeed it was 🥰
By the two brothers, later sanctified as St Cyril and Methodius. The Cyrillic Alphabet Day is May 24 when there are public celebrations.
@@58christiansfulit was not invented by the two brothers but by some of their students in the Preslav Literary School (most likely Climent).
