    British Armour did not use HEAT rounds but had HESH rounds High-Explosive Squash Head for the L11 guns. I am not sure the Chieftain models are correct they are mk11 but with the stillbrew Armour which my Regiment never had up to the point we switched to Challenger 1 in 1989 or so. Cheers

      This game is supposed to take place in 1989, so if you switched to challengers in 1989, they were probably mk1 so what are the mk2s even doing here?

    Both British first line Armoured Divisions had access to a regiment of M107 175mm SP artillery, provided by the Corps artillery, is it coming to the Division or is it omitted for some reason?
    By the look of the model the TOGS (Thermal sight) on the right hand side of the Chieftain turret is open, so im guessing the idea with the mk11 having the longer range over the mk9 is that the mk11 has thermal sights fitted where the mk9 does not, 20 points for a thermal sight that doesnt effect optics but does effect gun range....?
    You mention HEAT a few times, obvs British tanks only carry HESH not HEAT so guessing it wouldnt have HEAT ammo as it works ingame
    Not sure why 1st ArmDiv gets Fox recon cars? I dont think they had those, only the Royal Yeomanry units in the 2nd Infantry Division had them
    And its a big shame they didnt capitalise on the 1stArmDiv having the PRG (Parachute Regiment Group) in their deployment zone in Germany to give the Division some ATGM heavy Para units

    Challenger 1 mk1 had same frontal armour as the Leopard 2A4 and same front turret armour as the T-80U. The Leopard 2A4 shouldn't have armour 20. Should be 19.
    The Leopard 2A3 had armour similiar to the Chieftain mk9/10 so shouldn't have armour 19.
    The infantry being kind of average was a surprise. Given how well trained they were. Given the basic rifles of course who seem pretty decent with two LSW's and good 20ap AT launchers.
    The SAS wouldn't use Mp5's and second rate Law's. Pretty stupid tbh. Made them almost useless.
    Not worth using yet over the other recon infantry options.
    Biggest weakness of the Brits is low option of AA (like no SPAAG'S) & weak anti infantry - infantry options.
    But besides my little gripes about other comparable tanks and infantry options it's a good deck.

    • @studentaviator3756
      @studentaviator3756 2 года назад

      The rapier is fantastic. 3100 meters fire and forget against helicopters is great mate.
      And the infantry is pretty good too.
      Standard infantry sqaud is 8 guys too lmg and a 20 ap 800 meter law.
      Tbh that's really competitive, imo.

    • @BroadHobbyProjects
      @BroadHobbyProjects 2 года назад

      @@studentaviator3756 The rapier is a good piece of kit. Especially not having to worry about SEAD given this version isn't radar guided.
      I think the range vs helicopters is 3000m an 2825m for other air assets.
      I think its good but lacking any long range is a weakness. Kind of how the British forces wanted to operate I suppose.
      The infantry are kind of lack luster. The warriors are great, rifles with LAW80 are great and their recon in with the same LAW80 are great.
      But everything else is bad.
      Oddly the armoured rifle squad of 7 men with the weak m72 law (AP13) an one less person than the none armoured files costs the same.... Lol
      The SAS are bad too, equipped with Mp5's which they'd not use. They are mainly counter terrorism weapons.
      They'd use the Canadian version of the M4 silenced in a Cold war gone hot scenario.
      I think giving the Brits infantry a card extra of scouts with the LAW80, changing the load out of the SAS or make them a bit cheaper an maybe a card if more assault like infantry would be good.
      Say even a card of airmobile infantry or paras.
      With how overly effective artillery is now a force like Britian having slower battles with infantry due to them not having flamethrowers kwhich they shouldn't) then they get beaten heavily.

      So imo an anti heli aa piece is more important than anti air.
      helicopters require ground based aa to kill
      aircraft can be dealt with asf.
      I think if the warrior infantry had law 80s it would be really op. you could zerg rush anyone with good ifvs and anti armour infantry and tear everyone too pieces. so i think they had to do it that way.
      the sas, yes i think its highly unlikely they'd use mp5s but they would of almost certainly used m16a1s and m16a2s.
      Just look at falkland conflict and desert storm. they are all using american m16 rifles not C7/C8.

    • @BroadHobbyProjects
      @BroadHobbyProjects 2 года назад +1

      @@studentaviator3756 The Soviets do the BMP rush rather well. Lol The Warrior doesn't have a stabiliser so the accuracy on the move is pretty garbage for assaults.
      Unless using the infantry & mortars to pin the opposing infantry down then select "hunt" behind the enemy lines so the warriors stop & shoot their way through the weakened infantry.
      That does the trick.
      An my bad yeah they didn't adopt the Canadian version rfiles until the late 90's.
      The idea during the Cold War was to use the SAS to seek out & destroy expected Spetz that the Soviets planned flooding the rear areas of NATO forces with.
      From what I've read & heard anyways. So they should be better equipped for wiping out infantry with light AT (which they have) for likely compromised civilian vehicles used by the Septz infiltration units.

      There were no "specialized" ammunition types in Wargame, and there is none here either. The game assumes that the vehicle is firing whatever ammo is the most appropriate for the target - so if a tank is firing at a vehicle, it uses APFSDS, or HEAT, or HESH. If the tank is firing at infantry, it's assumed it's using HE shells and so on.
