Ah man, some of my earliest memories are of this game. I had one of those weird plug-and-play joysticks with C64 games on them, and I absolutely loved this game. In retrospect, I now see that there's a bunch of plagiarism, but hey, still a very fun and fluid game! Still though, Cyberdyne, the Terminator theme, the soldier kinda looks like he's from Starship Troopers or something (idk he just looks familiar) and a 40K space marine at one point (with the beak helmet too!) really goes to show why this game hasn't been re-released any time recently.
the c64s ability to animate many sprites flawlessly at 25fps rivals that of the amiga and it amazes me still today. What other 8 bit system could do it this? none, they didn't even come close, unless u count the pc engine which wasn't really 8 bit.
Not sure if this ever came out individually, but I had it when I were a wee child via a Commodore Format 'Power Pack' Cassette. It was a decent game for a mag cover inclusion! Highly playable.
One of my favorite games from my childhood, i only wish there were more stages :) Surpised Apex didnt have problems from Orion, Cyberdyne name and The Terminator theme at the end...
Nice, I had forgotten this, until I saw the get ready screen. shooting aimlessly into the air :) Nice seeing some of the enemy models that are reused in creatures. thanks!
A pity you didn't include the animated intro, where he lands, leaves his ship and enters the base unnoticed by the patrolling walkers. But you're excused this time - unfortunately this piece never made it into the actual release and has been later included separately on one of the Apex' stuff compilations.
Before Creatures and Retrograde, John and Steve Rowlands made this platform shooter for the C64 - See the video description for time codes!
Al82: Retrogaming & Computing Genius game. Great video. You know what you need to do now..? SCORPIUS!
@@LogrusUK Yeah - I was just looking at it and realised John/Steve are credited with the graphics for that.
AVGN brought me here.

That is without a doubt at 15:40 a BEAKIE MARINE! :)
This is so smooth and quick with some great sound effects. I think I got it free on a Zzap! tape in the 80s.
Zzap! Now that takes me back!
Thanks
AVGN present this game
Cool
Очень круто !
Я оттуда, ты оттуда, мы оттуда)

Cool to see someone complete this without cheating. One of my favorite games ever on the c64.

Never seen this before. From the gameplay, I was sure this would turn out to be something made recently. It looks so good.
Wauw, now i see this i still remember the first part after so many years

*Sets the playback speed to 1.5x* So satisfying.

Final music is cover of Terminator (1984) :)
here before avgn comments
Think i have played this before.
I was getting a strong Jet Set Willy vibe watching this.
Only with more guns 😉
Avgn brought me here
Make by genius
Some of the soundfx reminded me of Paradroid?
Well, I suppose there's only so many blips, bloops and beeps you can create with the SID - I guess they start to sound similar eventually 🙂
Fab game!

It's on my video :)
0:00 - Is that the Doom Marine in the Praetor Suit?
I think the art is very much based on Space Marines from Warhammer 40K 🙂
