i just love how well Bobby and Taylor balances the videos, with fresh energy and experience and knowledge. ! Hope next season is as fun as this one. ! Best Regards from Costa Rica... just dreaming on making this sailing trip !
I have watched every one of your blogs Bobby and without a doubt to date Taylor is the best crew mate you have had!!!!! She scores high in every Department and seems to get along with you better than anybody thus far.
Spinniker sock tips for an old, doublehanded ocean racer: Ease the sheet much more than you have shown on the video and you will substantially depower the shoot so it will come down much more easily. And when it is up, mark which of the two lines to pull to get the sock down. This will be particularly valuable when dousing the shoot at night when the deck lights preclude one from seeing above the spreaders.
I don't know when this was recorded, but as late as June 15th, the cruise lines still had about 42,000 employees that had not yet been able to get home and were stranded on the ships. Some of them are using the ships to return crew members to their home. So that may have been why you saw that cruise ship.
All thanx to Taylor. His subscribers were below 200k before Taylor came on board and will continue climbing until Bobby exhausts all of Taylor’s footages stored in his hard drive. He is also into his 59th video, another record. For all these achievements in addition to other crewing chores like cooking and cleaning and other services the Captain might demand, if you know what I mean, how did Bobby reward his star viewers magnet? With a used go-pro. Now that you know this, let me ask you, was Bobby screwing Taylor or not?
@@amnatapundit67 Actualy no. Inteligent, independant and autonomous girls like Taylor are aware they get a free sailboat vacation in the caribeans with skipper to take care of the boat on top . In return, they accept to do what they can; cooking, cleaning... Bonus here for the inteligent girl Taylor is : He showed her how to start her own RUclips channel , teached her how to edit etc AND gave her a camera to jumpstart her channel. Taylor got off his boat with sailing experience, lasting memories, a smile on her face and thanks yous on her lips. Of course , the precious little princess type would see things diferently. Sincerely, Marc.
@Marc Andre Robert, first let me state this: the money is the principle, everything else is meaningless rhetoric. Those near the top of the food chain like the mafia know this, and Im sure so does Bobby. Taylor paid for her grand vacation by performing crewing duties like cooking, cleaning, manning the helm and other unspecified services for Bobby. If Bobby paid his crew with real salaries his youtube business will not be viable, correct? As for knowledge transfer of youtube business to Taylor, how much is that really worth when there are plenty of free tutorials in youtube itself about that subject? Now lets go to Taylor’s endless baring of her sexy assets for Bobby’s audience, which is his real business as this is a girlie show that is just pretending to be about sailing. What did Taylor get for giving Bobby record numbers for this season? A camera, probably sponsored, and a used go-pro. I will leave it to you to figure out the value of Taylor’s contribution to Bobby’s business but Im sure you know its a lot more than what she got. Just because an impressionable 20yr old girl proves to be an easy mark for a con doesnt mean she is not really a victim and that there was really no con, correct?
With the main up you can blanket the spinnaker easily, and the douse the chute. 9- 10 knots you should have the main up any way, jib and jigger for heavy wind.
Nice sail out for 1500 miles . Hope all goes well .... We obvs know it does ,lol. Cool vlog an well explained on sail choice . Stay safe n bring on the new, kinda, girls Fair winds :-D
If you could use a very reefed mizzen or main, or even a storm jib on your inner jibstay, as a riding sail, it would make that night motor a lot less rolly.
let the kite luff when you snuff it. That hoop will crack and shred your sail if you force it. If u keep the main up when u use the spinnaker you can use it to blanket the spinnaker to easily depower it. Always use the main with the kite unless you are in drifting conditions. It seems counter intuitive to have 2 sails up instead of one when the wind gets moderately breezier, but you'll find you have better control. Also don't aim dead downwind. Learn how to trim to the luff curl.
absolutely ... and with the main up you can then quite easily gybe the kite in the lee of the main. Also a tweeker on the kite sheet will help stabilize it from oscillating
You should have a tylaska trip shackle on your gennaker tack with a trip line, so you can blow the tack while its under load. It will depower the sail, then you can pull down the sock with ease.
Loving the show since we sail mainly around the UK (where even we have dolphins and porpoise) - you offer some great tips Bobby. I was watching you last night in AIS app where it appeared you were doing 7.4 knots by Throgs Neck bridge New York which is never accurate since 24 hours later you’re still there. Might be worth a shout out to promote any random AIS app and promote boat courses as an affiliate for an extra income stream to show people how to get onto the water? Another great video...already looking forward to the future videos. Was great to see Meagan, she looks great. Your other crew member seemed very nice as well! A number of your religious followers from day one, were surprised that you snubbed Taylor the other night. I thought it was great that she joined the followers but you surprised us all how you did not handle it. Be safe! Be well!
Love the channel, starting to question how Bobby treats the crew(mostly young pretty girls) since there always seems to be drama and angry women leaving the boat. Makes you wonder...

Release the sheet before pulling the sock. And keep the main up while sailing with a spinnaker, makes the boat and spinnaker much more stable.
That Solmate spinnaker! Gorgeous!
Hi great videos. I served in the us navy on an aircraft carrier. I remember being in storms where the water was hitting the bottom of the flight deck
Congrats on 300K, Bobby! Loyal viewer since 2017. I miss the doggos, but you and Taylor have made up for it. I'm sorry to see her go. Be well, Sir.

Fascinating usage of sails. I’ve only helm motor ships personally. So it’s very interesting seeing it done. Great episode
Bobby, Congratulations on making 300K. You earned it.

Easier to Gybe the main first so you can keep Clean air in the spinnaker to fly it out front and sheet In on other side.
Was thinking exactly this. You saved me some typing. Overall the boat will be more stable with the main up as well.
