Thanks for showing us Paris, especially the Eiffel Tower! Hope you get back to see more of that beautiful city some day. Glad your entertainment was better than your "slumming" buffet. Another super video!
So now you've had a taste of Paris (an amuse bouche, if you will) you can always go back for 3 or 4 days. At least you went, and endured the bus ride there and back. Plus, the potato chips looked yummy. I love to go in grocery stores abroad just to see what's on the shelves that's different and unique. What was the museum you went to after you discovered the Louvre was closed? Anyway, cheers and will look forward to the next installment.
Glad you went to Paris and had such a nice day but it is so far away... I would have passed on that one. Paris deserves a couple of days to be seen. Agree on the buffets, once you tried HAL and other lines, Carnival's need improvement.
Fair enough! We figured life is too short and unpredictable - so if our travel adventures ended unexpectedly, we didn't want to turn down the chance for Paris (even as brief as it was.) Hopefully life takes us back there for a longer time. Carnival buffets used to be so amazing - the shut down stations and change to paid options makes us feel like the buffet experience isn't what it used to be.
I miss Paris so much, so I thought to rewatch this episode. True, 2 hours cannot do it justice. I’ve been three times (10 day, 3 days, and 7 days) and still more I want to see and do there. Managed to do some untouristy things this time like visiting a cat-café, knitting and embroidery shop, and doing Invader tile art scavenger hunt. But no matter, any time you can get to see the Eiffel Tower is priceless. It never gets old. Paris looks wonderful through your eyes. Thank you so much for sharing.
We have been dreaming of trying to get make a spend time in Paris for a few days prior to getting on a cruise. We felt that our time there was just a teaser of what Paris has to offer.
You Jill always looks so glamorous in all the videos and you really look like you belong in Paris! ...oh sorry, yes Jerry. You look glamorous too... sort of. And no one ' put Babe in the corner! '
Great video as always. I was in Paris for a day and a half and it's not nearly enough. Missing the Louvre was a bummer but don't sweat it too much because it takes a couple days to do just the Louvre right. I always said cruising is like a travel buffet, you get to try all kinds of places and decide where you would like to go for a land vacation. Or a pre /post cruise few days
For sure it was a sampler of Norhtern Europe that left us knowing where we'd like to return and spend more time. We look forward to cruising one day with a cruiseline that spends overnights in some ports and gives even more time to explore and soak it all in.
What a gorgeous day you had there. I’ve always been there in Oct. Not as crowded then, but the days are a little short then. We took our kids there for a week once! Nice to share it with them.
Thank you for the beautiful tour of Paris! I know you didn't get nearly enough time there but you saw many of the big highlights. Too bad the Louvre was closed but you honestly wouldn't have had time for it anyway. Now you'll just have to go back!
Glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like it might have been a good think that the Louvre was closed and we didn't waste our short time trying to do just that. We had a bit of time to take in a few other highlights. Fingers crossed we get back!
Great video, is too bad you guys didn't have more time to explore Paris. My wife and I have been to Paris twice, last time was December 2019 for 10 days and we spent New Year's Eve in front of the Eiffel Tower. What a sight it was! Looking forward to your next video, Bruges. Belgium and Holland it's on our bucket list.
There has been a marked decrease in patisseries since the EU imho BUT Paul’s franchise locations are everywhere now. Quality affordable snacks and lunches. Noticed a location across from your cafe. Also cafes are cheaper if you eat inside instead of on their patio. French Pricing affects Canadians and Aussies more than Americans because of currency conversions.
We didn't realize pricing was different inside and out....although we just went to the counter inside and brought it out. We found prices quiet reasonable - but most prices compared to touristy prices found elsewhere seem reasonable! We did notice the exchange rate is better recently between the Euro and the Canadian dollar - compared to previous years....so that gave it a positive spin. :)
We have an MSC Cruise (Euribia) planned for northern Europe in April 2024. Thank you so much for these videos! They are very helpful. I hope we get to see Paris also!
@Cruising Canucks I really hope you get to go back and see more of Paris! We decided to embark from the port in Rotterdam because we wanted to spend 2 nights exploring in Amsterdam.
@@CruisingCanucks my father was there for the liberation during WW2. He was on the front lines in Italy. My parents were able to attend the celebration in Apeldoorn in 1995.
Good evening, I am fast approaching my Carnival Pride Northern European cruise and have a question about Le Havre excursion you took. Thank you for all your vlogs. They are so helpful and appreciated. I am currently booked with the Paris on our excursion. The one you took, how long did you have at The Eiffel Tower stop. Did you stop at the Louvre to take photos or anywhere else? I know it lets you out at Place de la Concorde and wondered how long you had for time on your own? Lastly, did the drive take the full 3 hrs each way? Thanks in advance.
Yes on three hours each way. The Eiffel tower stop was a 10min photo op in the side of a road. We didn't drive by or visit the Louvre. Hope that helps! Have a wonderful trip.
Thank you so much for your responses and time. I think I will keep the time on our own tour. Hopefully 4&half hours will be time to see what we need. May have to get a few Ubers from place to place, but doable. Best Regards!
Curious to know if there are places to pick up souvenirs and T-shirts at the port or around the drop off for time on your own? We sail May 28th. Viatour offered 315.00 pp Paris private tour on your own and only 8 people.
There was a very small souvenirs booth at the Le Havre cruise port but not much selection. We were dropped off in an area without any nearby tourist stores. We had to walk about 15min for that option. There were a few small souvenir booths at the Eiffel Tower as well. Have a great tour! 8 people would be a better size.
@@CruisingCanucks thank you for giving me a glimpse of what’s to come for me. I have been enjoying your journey and looking forward to Europe again. Best Regards!

Our pleasure! We figured we couldn't be that close to Paris and not try for a quick visit.
Thank you for a wonderful day in Paris. The music you chose was perfect.

That museum was the Petit Palais on Winstin Churchill Ave. It's near where the bus dropped us off for a couple of hours.

Paris, worth every mile. New sub, thanks for taking me along. 🛳

Paris has my heart. I’ve been twice…and cannot wait to go back. It’s very emotional for me. The Eiffel Tower makes me cry! ❤
We felt the same way. We definitely want to return and spend more time there.

Last day on Le Tour du France! Yea!!!!!
😊
Looks like a lovely day. 😊 Glad you enjoyed.
Just not enough time at port.
Thank you for Paris! I hope some day I get to see it!!!
I hope so too! We loved our quick visit to Paris and look forward seeing more in the future.

Yes it was! Almost too hot but we enjoyed our short time there

And the sky was absolutely cloudless and beautiful! We got stuck on Metro and didn't get to Notre Dame or the Louvre!
We didn’t get to Notre Dame as it’s still closed but it would have been nice to do a drive by.

10 days sounds wonderful!! Thats how we should do it next time. Bruges is out now and Amsterdam on Wednesday.

Le Marais and the St. Germaine area are the best.

Sadly no time. We were on the highway longer than in Paris.
