it felt like such a shame to kill them, you'd think a druid would have at least a means to a peaceful resolution like taking the kid and leaving or sacrificing the kid if you're evil but nope, straight to combat.
@@creaturetransylvania8943 i do, doesn't change the fact they're nested right next to an enclave of druids, if you can talk your way out of a fight with other larger arguably more dangerous creatures you should be able to do that here but Larian said no dice.
@@Katsuhi50 I get what you saying but harpies don't typically role like that unless they from the east. You mess up a monster in the siren catagory song they switch too attack mode.
I personally wish that there was a choice to play as a Harpy with the origin of being found in an abandoned nest then raised either in Baldur’s Gate or in the wilderness and having either the Druid or Bard class as the beginning class. And have this scene be one where you can either give up the child in order to learn harpy magics or convince the harpy’s to leave the child alone.
Nope. It should've been a game over following that line. The same way the tentacle head eats your brains on the fallen ship on the beach if you fail in dialogue check. That was amazing writing and script. My first ever playthough ended there, comfortably laying as he chomped away.
Chose to listen to the song and must have failed a saving throw because I was suddenly (like, teleported) right next to the bottom harpy getting multiattacked!

I'll admit, when i first came across this quest, i was enthralled by the singing. They sounded wonderful.
SAME
Same here. I was playing a mutiplayer session with a friend, and we both heard the singing and went, "WOW. What is that!?!?" We were so enthralled.
Just like in elden ring. I'm never trusting singing again

You do know what a harpie is right?
@@creaturetransylvania8943probably not, there's a shit ton of tourists now that this game is mainstream.

I think druids would have peaceful(maybe jolly) cooperation with "beasts"/animals; however, harpies are "fey" and aligned with evil.

That sounds actually really cool

Indeed
It is, you become enthralled, Tav just got lucky and roled a save first turn. Otherwise you remain enthralled and get clawed.
Cleric: "Don't fall for it! Come back, resist the song!"
Bard: "What song?"
What happens if you keep listening to the harpy song? You have a really good day
I didn’t even get all that. I just walked towards the beach to hear where it’s coming from and was immediately attacked by the harpies 💀
They simply attack at some point if you progress the story far enough before going to the harpies
I just let them take me lol. I got in their van. Would do again
So it seems like the scene cut short because your character made a saving throw. I wonder what happens if you repeatedly fail

WTF I played through the entire game twice and the 1st act 4 times, and I haven't seen this before
same bruh
Nice censors the nudity.
:)
Nudes are allowed on RUclips just not sexual nudes.
I didn’t realize they were topless when I played this section!
@@SwirlyCub New things to learn.
Nudity is optional. Usually streamers turn it off.
