I love my 2010. It is a good city car that feels as fun as a go-cart. It's mostly very light weight. It feels engineered very well. The steering is instantly responsive. Short wheel base for u-turns, alleys, parallel parking, etc. Not a soft ride, and my AC has never worked right. If you have any hobbies that involve hauling stuff it is good for that.
One of the best and easiest platforms to K swap. People slept on these. Gus is a part of the inflation problem highlighting chassis that are slept on. In all honesty, Gus has taste with slept on chassis and is pulling a community together!

The talked about the starter and a/c cluctch failing. I did have to replace ther a/c clutch, but it was only $50.

Awesome platform, loved the FITs. The problem is, all the aftermarket support is overseas. This was really a car that the aftermarket companies overlooked in the US. It was an affordable car everyone could buy to modify.

Boy, are you talking to a member of the choir! I bought a new 2011gen 2 Fit Sport 5MT, a new 2015 gen 3 LX 6MT, and a new 2015 Fit Sport with CVT and paddles rev matching 7 simulated gears which I love despite the lukewarm press on gen 3 and CVT. I couldn't find a manual but am happy with the CVT. I gave the 2011 and 2015 to relatives, but will get the 2011 back when my grandson-in-law gets a new car. As to tires, 205-50/16 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s are great - sticky but long mileage, quiet, comfortable ride, inexpensive. Every Saturday for over 30 years I go canyon carving in fabulous Est San Diego with some really hot cars, and my Fits have been christened Porsche Harassers.
Fit to fight…. As for crash bar thing. In US we are more likely to encounter crash with 1/2 ton and full size ton trucks with highway speeds of 65-75mph… in Japan it is highly unlikely that size of truck will travel that faster and they hardly have 1/2 ton trucks on the road

Nice build mate, definitely a warming platform to build upon. Any sources for converting these to rear disc as I'm based in Australia? Thinking of turboing my 1.5L in the future just to get a bit more power out of it pity the HKS kits dont really exist anymore or even trying to source a l15b7 from a civic if its a semi-direct swap but its suprising how well these cars handle
Watch out with rear discs. There's a video on RUclips where they tried it, and the rears locked up despite measures they tried like low grade brake pads. Maybe Honda had a non-economical reason to use drums.
Engines for the Fit is criminally cheap lol. It’s really the modern EF/CRX with practicality minus double wishbone. But the L15 gets and goes and the 5 Speed shifter is like your typical Honda.
This is exactly why I love them. Except for they remind me of the EG/Del Sol handling (but actually rigid). Currently selling my Base 04 Integra (RSX equivalent) to get a Gd3 as they're pretty much as fun to drive even though they are a, little down on power.

Where I live the roads are quite twisty and narrow - meaning a Honda Fit is actually a better size to have fun on these roads as easier to hold good speed. I have a friend with a Gd3 manual and it's only a little bit slower than my auto DC5
@@christopherjohnston6343 makes sense your right about that on nice small tight canyon roads the Fit is a champion and doesn’t get you into trouble. I’ve has several FG2’s, CL9’s and this GD3 I feel in Manual is gonna be a modern Honda classic in its own way.
@@iheartgs400 I've had Del Sol SiR, DC2R (obviously not in the States), MX5 NB RS, 2012 Mazda2 Sport and now the 04 integra. Had the most fun in the Mazda2 Sport but its just a bit too little and impractical. Fit has that fun factor but with decent usability. I'm at the point now where I find it more engaging to chase down much faster cars in my wife's Fit. Slow car fast. Uses more of my skill. DC2R was just easy mode in the hills. Felt like I was cheating in most match ups because it was too capable on tight roads.
