This is a story about love and caring. Young girl rent a room form old lady. Old lady not allowed young girl used landline phone and electric to cook food without paying money. Young girl doesn’t like but have to take it because she couldn’t afford to move to anther place until she get a good job. Young girl thought old lady is a cold person everything just about money. One day young girl fund out why old lady wanted to save money as she could. And old lady knows more about young girl as she’s a good girl. They understood each other started get on well. They have a good relationship.
If you understand what they said to each other, you will see that both say mean things to each others from their points of view. Then gradually you understand why something was said and understand each has their valid reasons. Both found each others real need and feeling through those mistakes and clashes. It is about human pride, loneliness and love. Sometimes we communicate through gesture and our eyes. That's how we find common human-ness regardless of the language we speak. I did not put the movie there, I just found the movie and like it a lot too! I also wish there is subtitle, sometimes they speak very fast in their local way and it is also difficult for Chinese from other regions to understand. But we can rewind and listen to it again. You are trying to understand the movie regardless of the language barrier, it is a respectful thing. Thank you for watching!!

我看到孤独，看到了不舍，看到了人间的自有真情在，而人间又都是冷漠与不公.....
女主太美了，是那种没有科技原生态的美，脚也很好看
很棒的電影、很不容易拍的電影，描述 大陸經濟改革開放初期，共同生活在一間破舊的北京四合院，祖孫輩兩代人的 思想、生活、習慣間的差異與矛盾，平凡寫實 非常成功。

两个孤独的灵魂依靠在一起！小马是个初到大城市的无依无靠的女孩，老人是个无儿无女无人赡养的寡人。俩人一起自然而然的就有了相互依靠的祖孙情

老太太的养女搞不明白为什么跟自家人反而没有跟一个没住几天（实际上通过季节变化说明也有些时日了）的人那么亲，我后来觉得，老太太最后之所以跟小马有了感情上的依依不舍，实在是因为两人的性格相似，老太太在小马身上大概看到了年轻的自己，而小马则是因为感觉到了老太太慢慢增加的关爱
老太太说抽过大烟, 当过民兵。结合金老太太25年出生, 无论哪个百科, 金老太太45年之前都是空白履历, 这事怎么听怎么像真的😂
