    Dulce, you are so so beautiful. Thank you for your honesty and time to make this video to educate fellow girls about self esteem. I just want to leave a little insight that really resonated with me. Nobody will ever be 100% confident with themselves. Even if they do feel that way, it's momentary and it won't be long until we feel insecure again and vice versa. It's fine because we will continue to go through life with blips along the way. Through insecurities is where we learn our worth and strength in our 'flaws'. It's not realistic to believe we will ever be 100% anyway because fortunately, nobody will ever be perfect. I feel relieved knowing now that I will never be perfect and thank goodness because it takes away all the pressure. I went to Seoul to work not long ago. I saw a lot of gorgeous women. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them getting plastic surgery and it is a popular thing to do over in Korea. It takes guts and courage to be mentally and physically prepared for surgery. However, I started to see the same type of eyes, nose, face shape and lips on so many girls and guys. As great as they looked, for the first time- I really really felt good to look different from the standard beauty. We can't measure beauty with numbers from the scale. We are more than wrinkles, marks, bumps and fine lines. I am 28 myself and while I know physically- I may not be at my prime- I also feel more beautiful because I'm at a better state of mind. I believe you feeling beautiful now is a combination of your kind heart, your dedication to your family, achieving dreams and compassion you have for yourself. Love you!!!! Hope to see you soon again.

    You regret your nose not because you miss your old nose the one God gave you, but because your nose is leaking from one nostril & you are now worried about it. Now you regret it. sounds more realistic to me from what I heard you say. I'm not hating dulce. but I do suggest you get that leak checked. better safe than sorry. good luck dulce.

      She mentioned she was so unsure of it before and after. Now that it's leaking and crooked, it's even harder for her to accept it. She said what she said and she meant it. She's saying straight up she's being honest and just putting it out there.

      So true. Especially these "beauty gurus" in youtube,they all want to be someone else. I mean it is fine if you want to changes for your own good, somerhing that will make you feel better has to be from deep inside you not because you watched someone else. I see that this other youtuber(jermaine) and candy came back to their humble beginnings. I hope they keep it like that.

      +KivetteB I disagree with you there! I think money is just a buffer to aid your self-esteem. Yes, you have the money, you actually go ahead and get things done or buy stuff, or whatever! And if you didn't have the money and you still faced self-esteem, self-confidence or any such psychological issues, you'd still WANT to get things done or buy certain stuff, but fact is you just can't afford it! Everybody WANTS things, and it's the wants and desire that help us go ahead in life.

    The fact that Wendy Williams trashes other women daily, and encourages her audience who are also women to join her in picking apart random women who are just trying to live their lives shows that's she is very INSECURE in the woman that she has to be to be "successful". "Say it how you mean it" is just a phrase she has to say to convince herself that what she does on that show is ok and she's not hurting anyone.

    • @letsjazzitup
      @letsjazzitup 9 лет назад +3

      at the end of the day, wendy has a tall show, its her job to entertain and ppl enjoy the nit picking of other ppl. it is unfortunate, but if she didnt do it, they would fire her and hire another person who will.

      +gina ducheine I totally agree, I think when Wendy is home by herself living her real life she has more insecurities than she will let on. I do believe she enjoys talking about people for the money of course but also because it may make her feel better about her situation. I don't understand Dulce looking up to Wendy but I can see she gets her success on and all but I'm sure there's more to her than what we see on her show.

    • @letsjazzitup
      @letsjazzitup 9 лет назад

      wendy's only competition is TMZ and they come on at complety different times, im pretty sure her cycle of "viewers" wont die done anytime soon considering that she is on her 7th season, she is doin something right on that show to last 7 seasons.

    I just had to pause the video to say that I love your mentality, you are very wise! It is so try what you said, which s what I say to people all the time. People make the mistake of trying to find happiness and love outside of themselves. they don't realize that it starts from within. You have to get to know yourself and learn to love and accept who you are as a person. Once you do that, then you automatically start loving everything about yourself, from the inside to the outside. That is how you start being confident, it just starts happening automatically, it's crazy. I know from experience, it's such a beautiful feeling.

    I'm not saying this with any mean spirit in my bone. Isn't it a double standard to say accept yourself I wish I wouldn't have done the nose surgery but at the same time you say I love my breast surgery I don't regret it. It sounds like you just preferred the way you looked before the nose. And that's ok. You like your breasts. That's ok too. Someone will like their nose done as much as you had your breasts done. I don't think it would be appropriate to tell someone don't get it. My friend had hers done and has way better self esteem. It was good for HER.

    • @SabeStar87
      @SabeStar87 9 лет назад +4

      I see your point but also breast implants can be removed if you regret them. It is nearly impossible to reverse a rhinoplasty.

    • @hairpluckingasmr6352
      @hairpluckingasmr6352 9 лет назад +31

      +Arcy Young I don't think she is really meaning to tell people what to do, but what she is highlighting is that these decisions shouldn't be made lightly, especially as a young woman because as we grow older we learn and we change and we see the world differently. (I'm certainly not saying this in a mean way to you because I do understand where you are coming from). I think maybe what is different is that Dulce says it (unlike a lot of other youtubers) exactly how she feels without making it so 'politically correct'.

    • @mcarreno3
      @mcarreno3 9 лет назад +16

      +Arcy Young I was confused too- Nose job bad, boob job good? God made the boobs too. LOL

    • @chel.madeleine
      @chel.madeleine 9 лет назад +8

      +Arcy Young I mean, a nose job changes your entire appearance, and a boob job is more of an addition to your body. Changing something on your face is a lot more daunting then changing/adding something on another part of your body. Also, you can have breast implants removed, you cannot reverse rhinoplasty easily.

    Dulce this really spoke to me. For so long and I wanted rhinoplasty. Not because i was ever bullied for it, but because of my own insecurities. My boyfriend told me recently, out of no where (not knowing that my nose was one of my biggest insecurities) that he wanted our babies to have my nose on their faces. It was such a sweet comment and it made me rethink my decision to get a nose job. After seeing this video I am really thinking twice about my decision and you've inspired me to really love myself for who I am and for who God made me to be. Thank you❤️❤️

    • @theservinggirl
      @theservinggirl 9 лет назад +8

      +rachalicious85 I think she regrets it because she thought it would fix her insecurity and it didn't since the problem she had came from her insecurity not because there was an actual problem.

    • @wirinaholstein4076
      @wirinaholstein4076 9 лет назад +7

      +rachalicious85 Im sure the whole "God made me this way" wise words are just about regretting the nose didn't turn out as perfect as wished.

    • @theservinggirl
      @theservinggirl 9 лет назад +2

      I don't think it's fair to judge what her idea of perfect is ...I think her nose came out fine but to her it didn't ...I feel like either way she would have still regretted it because it's something that she picked at out of her insecurity. It drastically changes your whole face and that can be hard to accept when making any physical changes besides that you have thousands of people telling you on a daily about your nose and that your previous one was better. So really her audience has a big impact because people are very negative. People judge her more than God actually would smh.

    • @wirinaholstein4076
      @wirinaholstein4076 9 лет назад +7

      JAYLOR07 Well her boobs was also done out of insecurity. And they dont exactly got to stay the way God made them either. Still those she loves. I think its a bit shallow this whole "God made me like this, I shouldn't have changed it". Its just such a used phrase and obviously doesn't apply to other than her nose.

  • @oopsnessa
    @oopsnessa 9 лет назад +4

    For her to be tremendously brave and extremely honest about a self image issue in front of 2 million people, and people still have the audacity to dislike the video, its baffling!

  • @puchechai
    @puchechai 8 лет назад +10

    Thanks for your honesty. I don't know your backstory, but I do know that we've all felt insecure at one time or another. I've found that the key to being happy with yourself is to use your time doing things for others so you don't become self centered. Do what you love, be it music, academics, fashion etc. Volunteer, take care of your younger siblings, older people in the family, etc. when you put your family's need first, or when you're busy following your passion, you'll forget about all your imperfections and insecurities because you're busy and focused on what's more important in life. People who really love you won't care too much about how you look. They love you for who you are! So you should be kind to yourself and love you for you! You are worth it!

  • @indieintroduceme
    @indieintroduceme 9 лет назад +29

    When we start thinking "I deserve this" or "I earned this" then we lose our humility and our gratitude. That last 10% isn't a part of you that hates you. It's the part of you that reminds you to be grateful for everything you've received in life.

    • @Lyindra5
      @Lyindra5 9 лет назад +2

      I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. I am all for being grateful and feel like I deserve something because I really do. I work hard and I do think I earned it. I think the issue is just be humble and don't go all out.

    • @indieintroduceme
      @indieintroduceme 9 лет назад +2

      +Irene G. I don't see how someone can be grateful when they feel like the deserve it. "Thanks I deserve it." It's individualistic self entitlement. It's forgetting you're not the only person in the world and whatever you think you did to "deserve" whatever you've "earned" was possible not only because of you but also because of the people around you and where you are in the world. I want to hear people say "Thank you I worked hard but I'm no one in particular. I could never do anything to really deserve anything that I have or will have."
      Idk. Maybe I'm just crazy. :)

    • @OdetteAndOdile
      @OdetteAndOdile 9 лет назад +1

      +indieintroduceme "I deserve this" doesn't have to be aggressive. It's also a form of self empowerment. It's important to tell yourself you deserve to be treated right, and you deserve good things. Its not entitlement. Sometimes people work hard and people work alone. If you don't give yourself any credit for your achievements, thats not right. Its a slippery slope between feeling like you dont deserve anything on your own and low self esteem. Balancing the feeling of deserving something with being thankful for it is in fact extremely healthy.

    • @indieintroduceme
      @indieintroduceme 9 лет назад

      +OdetteAndOdile yeah maybe you're right.

    • @Lyindra5
      @Lyindra5 9 лет назад +2

      indieintroduceme Oh no, not at all. I think you are seeing "I deserve this" in a different way I see it. Just because I think I deserve something, does not mean I am taking all the credits. You are talking about two extremes. As I said, I deserved all the great thing in my life and I give credits where it is due. "I could never do anything to really deserve anything that I have or will have" sounds depressing as opposed to being grateful. I am sorry..

    i think it took alot of bravery for her to come on here and be real about what she might have thought right then but she regrets now, and she is not the only one who has done something like this and now has regrets, but as far as coming to terms with insecurities we just have to learn to accept the parts we can't change and that does not mean we won't feel insecure, somedays we will be more secure with ourselves then other's, that's just life, it's more about looking within for security not the outside that ages and changes daily.

    I find a major flaw in this video. You're telling people to completely "love themselves" before getting plastic surgery but if you completely love and accept yourself you wouldn't want plastic surgery. Im glad you fessed up to the fact that you were in fact insecure about your nose because I'm so tired of people acting like plastic surgery doesn't stem from insecurities. When you learn to completely love yourself theres no need for plastic surgery.

    Reading all these comments are definitely making me realize why these RUclips sensations rarely ever talk about their deepest thoughts and feelings. It's bizarre to me how people can call dulce a hypocrite and she's lying and this and that when I'm sure not a single person saying these things actually truly know who she is. Clearly she's still learning to love herself and it's obvious that in learning to love yourself theirs so many trials and tribulations. Who can blame her for doing something she thought was right. She got her boobs done because she thought it would make her feel better, got her nose done because she thought it would make her feel better. Unfortunately her nose job didn't make her feel the way she wanted it to. She's bravely on here in front of a camera telling you guys something that's so personal... That couldn't have been easy for her. Dulce, you are beautiful inside and out and I personally am so thankful that you shared your story and experience

It's because she's authentic, assertive and ambitious - things that many women feel they can't achieve or be, so they project their self hatred and insecurities on to her. Dulce, I have been following you for many years. I fell in love with your spirit and your style and I have always continued to check back. Your words today really spoke to me. I am 21 years old and I have always had an issue with my nose. I always thought that eventually I would take care of it and get it surgically altered. Thank you so much for coming out and being so honest and sharing that we all have flaws but they make us who we are. I do not want my sister to grow up thinking she needs to look a certain way and I do not want my future daughter to feel that pressure to be perfect. This video was a great reminder of that. You are such a beautiful person inside and out.

  • @love2bmom77

    I really admire how candid and honest you were in this video. You can hear the raw emotion in your voice. I can relate to the insecurities and thinking plastic surgery can alleviate that. I've never been able to have any cosmetic surgery, mainly because it was never something I could justify spending that much money on. I'm now in my late 30's and am so glad I never did anything to alter my appearance. You are right Dulce...your 30's will bring on a whole different level of self awareness and self confidence. I'm sorry you regret some of your surgery, but don't let that hamper how you see yourself. You are such a beautiful woman. Your surgeon did a beautiful job with your rhinoplasty and I happen to love your cute nose. Look in that mirror and see the beauty that we all see. Very little of what we actually see in you is skin deep...your personality shines through and is SO much more endearing than your physical appearance even though you truly are a beautiful woman. I love how you express yourself. I love how you carry yourself and that makes you beautiful. ♥

    Dolce. I absolutely love this video because of your heart and true self shining throughout it. I appreciate your authenticity. Regrets are OK. Our society has this 'no regrets' mentality because 'it all brought me to where I am today.' I thought this way as well when I was younger, but after maturing and growing, I understand that regrets are OK. It's ok to say that something we did was wrong and we shouldn't have done it and if we could go back we would undo it. God knows I've hurt people and said things and I would give anything to change that hurt I caused. The same can be said for things I've done to my hair or body. As we grow I think we recognize more and more that it's ok to say we messed up and we would change our screw up, if we could.
    I also wanted to speak to your comment about comparing ourselves to 'everyday' women on social media rather than how it was when we grew up where we mostly saw celebrities on media and therefore that is who we compared ourselves to.

    • @itsthecomptons6216
      @itsthecomptons6216 9 лет назад +3

      It was so easy for us growing up to say- it's ok that I'll never look like Beyoncé because she is super rich and can pay for every type of trainer and undergarment and surgery and cosmetic... So it's unreasonable to hold myself to that standard. But today, young ladies are manipulated into believing that these perfect images we see on social media are not produced and are authentic every day women, which makes it very difficult to not place the standards we see set onto ourselves.
      I pray that women come to a place of general acceptance for ourselves AND each other. If we lifted more women up instead of tearing them down, I believe we would be less likely to tear ourselves down.
      I love this video! Thank you again for your thoughts and openness. Love you!

    I appreciate that you took time to open up to all viewers because there isn't anything more comforting than to hear someone that is greatly admired be so transparent especially when you know you are not at 100% yourself that day. I think this video is perhaps the most open I have seen you do. Admitting ones flaws and working towards accepting them as unique as they are is really hard. Thank you for showing us that so humbly.

    I remember when she said she got a nose job. I was like , whhhhy!!! there was nothing wrong with it. I think RUclips money just got to you and u didn't know what to do with it, so u made this dumb decision. Stop comparing your self to other and be yourself. U can never be like anyone but u.

    What I don't get is that, doesn't she contradict herself saying that she is against doing surgery to her face but not to her body? she said she didn't like the fact that she changed something god gave to her but doesn't that apply to that as well because she also changed her breast.

    you have reached a whole new level of respect in my book. I have contemplated plastic surgery for my nose for years and I am so glad I didn't do it now. I love your message about not doing it because of the constant comparison we put ourselves though. I love my wide nose because its different and its me. After a lot of years of working on me I love me!! You are amazing and your candid honesty is refreshing!!!!

    I used to like DulceCandy because she was so real and strong (was in the army), but now i dont watch her videos often because she portrays a different person... i feel like in the past few years, fame got into her head and started to always want more and more and can never get satisfied ex:nose surgery (always looking to change her image) .. so because she's never satisfied with the results, she claims to be an insecure person.. honestly, i dont think she's insecure because she likes to show off her trips, her house and her success etc she has a good life she's just never satisfied

I'm so glad you did this. SO many girls are changing themselves to fit these unrealistic images they see online. Thank you for coming forward and being so honest. Know that you are amazing!

    I always tell my husband that when I get enough money one day I want a breast augmentation and a nose job. Just like you, nobody has said anything bad about it. A few people have said they even like it. But I always wished I had a more defined nose (mine it's like little round/circle at the end). This video really helped Dulce. It has been something I have been thinking since high school. But now, I know I just gotta love myself, and this is who I am. I do want to get a breast augmentation in the future because mine don't go with my body and I just want to have pretty ones, and fit on cute shirts. These are things that people would never think bother me but I always look at myself and it's like I can't wait to do something different to my body. And I think it will make me feel better, but I see that it might not. I still love you Dulce, and you are beautiful!

    What an honest and beautiful person you are. These insecurities are usually a product of our low self esteem due to our childhood. I am also hispanic and though I have great parents I didn't have much verbal validation nor physical affection as a child. I think this is common and it catches up with us as we get older. Keep searching for your self acceptance and love yourself everyday a little more. XO

      Jenny B I know it seems mean but yes, her nose looks weird now, her old nose looked so much better and blended with her face. This one has textbook defects from poorly executed surgery now including pinching. It's really unfortunate, but it is possible for her to get a revision if it bothers her. It's just stressful and expensive and it's hard to trust surgeons after they screw you up.

    Thank you so much for this video. I just came across it today and it's been so perfect timing! I was having a down day and i've actually always had an issue with my nose. I was feeling insecure about myself and like you mentioned, comparing myself to others. Your video made me cry because i can relate to what you said so much. I think social media like Instagram is giving people such a false image of others and their lives. Thank you for your honesty about your regret. I have always been scared to get my nose done for this exact reason. That i would not be happy with the results and regret it.
    Like you said we ARE all unique but unfortunately we seem to all want to be the same. I'm going to keep reminding myself that unique is good! Gracias!

    Dear Dulce,
    I was seriously considering getting plastic surgery done. I was going to get eyelid surgery and a nose job, I even had a consultation. But this video changed it for me. I'm not doing anything to change my face. And you saved me, not by saying plastic surgery is bad and you should never do it blah blah blah but you change the way that I look at myself to the point where I look at myself in the mirror now and I think "i can't believe I ever considered permanently changing myself" You saved me. and I thank you for having the courage to come on youtube and share your intimate self.
    Thank you

    I love your honesty in this video. Thank you so much for sharing insight about your growth and maturity regarding your personal experience with plastic surgery.
    I actually remember the day I saw you plastic surgery video. At that time, I had just turned 18. Even though being 18 means being an adult, I was still naive and impressionable. Still am now, but more so back then. Anyway, at that time, I'd been subscribed to you for like 2-3 years, and I loved how confident you are with you looks. Or so it seemed.
    In past videos pre-rhinoplasty, you've talked about the bump of your nose but you said you were happy regardless. It gave me so much confidence because I have a bump on my nose too. (Bigger than yours but your confidence rubbed off on me). So, when I saw your plastic surgery video, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. I mean, what you said in that old video encouraged me to think deeply about plastic surgery, and the seriousness and repercussions.
    I don't want anyone to think that I'm happy that you regret your nose job. I'm actually sad that you realized too late that you are amazing the way you are. I'm glad that you talked about this because people don't realize that insecurities are not skin-deep. It can only be fixed from within (and I'm not talking about invasive surgery).
    Now, I still want to get a nose job. It's funny because I wanna get one to get back my old nose. When I was 11, someone hit my nose and that's how I got a bump on my bridge. Middle school and a part of HS was awful because I was so insecure. I hated people looking at my profile because of how much the bump protruded. All these years (about 9) with a bump on my nose, all I've been thinking is that what I look like is not how I truly look like. I'm not supposed to have a protruding, slightly crooked nose bridge. I want to get plastic surgery so that I can get my old nose bridge back, so my nose looks like my dad's again. I want my true nose. I want to fix the accident. I don't want to change anything else on my nose except to get rid of the protrusion.
    Now as a 20 yr old, I feel more secure with how I look. My nose insecurity flares up more often than I'd like, but I know that I've thought long and hard about my decision. My nose doesn't hold me back any longer, and I'm still content with the idea of rhinoplasty. :) I want to get it because I know it's right for me.

    FINALLY! I feel like I've been waiting for this realness from you. Between the surgeries, the Range Rover, the Chanel bags, it was obvious to the outside that you were searching for something that cannot be obtained. It's a breath of fresh air to hear you talk about this and I love you that much more for it. You're beautiful inside and out and you do not need "things" or personal exterior changes for that to shine through!
