GRK use to be available direct from the company in bulk ,(50 lb ) boxes for a very reasonable price. They then went into the stores and jacked the price waay up . Pity.
What a GreatProduct. Im building a workshop one day and will use these screws to hold the entire structue together. and see how it will do doring severe weather.
Lag bolts are last century. They are also much more expensive compared to GRK RS screws. I built a redwood tent platform with 4x4s and used a couple of boxes of 5/16x5 1/4 for about $100. That same amount with lag bolts would have been hundreds of dollars.
I have recently had a problem with them. I was building a simple garden bench out of 4x4 pine post. 4 of the six grk screws that I used got stuck and hopelessly stripped and un useable. I don't know what I did wrong whatever I did wrong I need to figure out. Please help
Even tho it comes with a washer built into thr screw, would installing the screw with another washer help in my particular application? I'm planning in installing a pull up bar into the ceiling, and I'll be pulling downward with about 225lbs. Ty in advance
i know this is an advertisement, but i have to say that grk over engineered their fasteners. i only do small projects where fastener price is not much of an issue, i will never buy anything else again after just a few projects using grk r4 8x2. they aren't cheap and should not be used on huge contract builds (the cost would seriously add up) but for home projects where you are just "screwing" around, there is nothing better on the market. this is the best. it bites easy, runs true, and countersinks itself in wood. and the torx head means you won't be going "bump bump bump" at the end of the run, you might even destroy your bit if you aren't paying attention (and the piece you are working on so watch out).
kght222, they use to be quite reasonable when they were sold in bulk and directly from the company, but now they are only sold in stores with the middle man cost tacked on. pity.
have you tried bc eagle wood pro ? just ordered on amazon for around 1/3 the price of grk, also looking at u2 fasteners which are very similar but appear to bite quicker and have a deeper bit for better grip
I don't know how teachers ever functioned without bass and drums playing during the lesson!
WOW! Great video, well done.
That 18" screw - that is just nuts. Nice job.

If you build a house and use a lot of GRK fasteners, you'll need to get a second mortgage just for the screws. Damn those things are expensive.
👍🏻 love those , and U 2 fasteners also , more expensive but well worth the difference
They are expensive, but they are awesome screws. I can drive a 6" 3/8 diameter RSS screw with a 12v Bosch impact driver.
Grk screws fasteners are strong in certain projects. They cause wiggle and can bend. Spax doesn't bend and is stronger
Hey, do you know of a good supplier for the longer RSS screws, it's difficult to find lengths longer than 10" in Canada.
Can you ask your hardware store to special order some?
