Great video. I moved to Tonopah recently, and you covered some high points really well. The real highlight of Tonopah is not the town itself, but rather, the expansive desert around it.
I am really enjoying the Seldom Seen Slim series you’ve been doing. You do a great job including historical information in all your videos, this included. Thank you so much! 💜🌵☀️
Thank you very much! Glad that you're enjoying them! We have more to come in the series. They just take a while to edit because of that historical aspect. Lots of old photos to dig up and find! 😅
Love this. I can't travel to the sites while visiting AZ for the first time. I'm covid vulnerable. This video made me feel like I "know" Tonopah. Thank you❣️
Very well done! I'd love to see more content of yours around Tonopah - it's a magical placee that has a lot to offer and you understand very well how to tell a compelling story around it.
Thanks! I do have plans to go back to Tonopah and have another video I made there about a year ago in our back catalogue. Also, in a few weeks, maybe sooner, we’ll be releasing the next in that series focused on Goldfield, NV. I just need to finish editing it.
As you and I well know, living in Arizona in the 1800 would be a terror, truly. Not to mention zero air conditioning but just imagine living in a cloth tent like that wow. And that was the best accommodations and the most technologically advanced at the time 🤷♀️👀 Your search continues! 😊
I imagine some of the inmates in Phoenix could tell tales about tents during summer. 🤐 But yeah, life would have been pretty rough in some ways that we don't experience now. As for the search... keep an eye out. It might continue in a couple of hours today. 😉🤫
The tent looks better than some of those old wooden buildings. Tonopah looks amazing. Definitely want to check it out sometime (but I'll stay as far as possible from that clown motel).
It does. Which leads one to wonder about the age honestly. Either way, it's really cool to get to look inside as there's so many photographs of cities of those tents but few to none with any insight as to what life was like inside. Tonopah is amazing though. I have a feeling you'd love it. 😄
Interesting video! I am a ghost adventures fan so I remember that creepy clown motel and cemetery . That area where you could explore those deep ravines- interesting ( I already forgot what they were called!) I can’t imagine living a miners life! Tough!
Haha. We watch Ghost Adventures too. It's been a trip visiting a lot of these places we've seen and heard about on TV. Yeah... not sure either of us would be cut out for a life of mining. 😅
Not sure if you could get me to stay at the Mizpah or not. Know for sure you’ll never catch me at the clown hotel. Great video though Tonopah looks really interesting. Liked your previous videos on it as well.
I gona be in Tonopah,NV in novenber,I will ask the locals about Slim, 'praps one of 'em saw him latly, me self will look around for him too,if me lucki i meet him.
What... no haunted clown ghosts? 🤣 I feel like almost every old mining town around here has an old hotel reported to be haunted. So far we've experienced nothing during our stays.
1:30 neither rumor is true. Wyatt Earp had already left town when the Mizpah was built, and Jack Dempsey said he never bounced anywhere in Nevada and including Tonopah.
So I thought I heard that 10ft = 1 story, so 100ft would be a 10 story building. Regardless those were some deep shafts. That clown stuff is freaky…ever since I saw Tim Curry as Pennywise as a kid clowns just suck! 🤡🤡🤡🤡
That sounds about right. Since the Mizpah is five stories, I guess that would be two Mizpah hotels. And yes, the clown motel always gives me a weird feeling.
Never knew Slim was associated with Tonopah. Learn something new everyday. Great video.
Me neither. Until I bought that book by Murray and read that line or two.

Well said! We love the desert up there and thank you so much for watching. 😊

Great job! My favorite part is the nighttime videography at the beginning. Those were some excellent shots.
Thanks so much! They're ours too! They really came out great. Glenn really did a great job setting up the shots I think. 😄
Nah, it was all about the lens. All I did is put the camera on a tripod and push a button lol. 😉

@@CactusAtlas Amazing! Subscribed and am looking forward to it! =)
You did a nice job with showing My town and our Mizpah hotel..Thank you.
Our pleasure! It's one of our favorite places to stay. 😊

Thanks so much! Maybe the Mizpah ghosts are just really into hospitality...? 😅 With you on the Clown Motel though!
I know mining life is not for me. Great video 👍 well done 😀
Thanks! While exploring old mines is kinda fun, I have to agree, not the life for me either!

Taking notes... Mizpah. Love haunted tourism!
