I think you have to try and understand that rapping is not singing much less music. This is real soul, love music. Glad you're trying to get into it. This song has always been part of my life.
One of my all time favorites ❤ No JJ, this was written by Jerry Fuller, released by Johnny Mathias in 1972 and by Al Wilson in late 1973. It went high on soul and r&b charts. Was #1 on Billboard hot 100 in January 1974. It's okay to recognize something you know of today but sweetheart the background and history is of the utmost importance. What a great tune. I came back to listen to the song and you again.. Glad you enjoyed it❤
No your not the only person that reacted to this song. But your the only one i noticed that extensively listened to R&B soul neo soul contemporary r&b disco electric r&b whatever in that atmosphere. Very deeply is because of your viewers suscribers. A lot of other reactors have a broader audience because they listen wide variety genres of music. It depends on the viewership and what you want to cover. The popular mainstream songs will always be popular requests and most reactors covers the same songs. But it's good to see the B side get rediscovered as much as the A side because those are truly the forgotten gems. Keep up the good work everytime you listen to these songs your in class session
@@JustJammin Yes way...Yes way. Tupac was a BIG Al Wilson fan. Alot of the older rap artists from the 1980s and 1990s were big time into Al's music. LL Cool J...Rappin Fortay, Kool Moe Dee, MC Hammer...a bunch of them. They were also into Tower of Power, too.
One Of My Favorite Songs Pure R&B Smooth Perfection Yoo You Know What's Crazy The Great Johnny Mathis Originally Recorded This Song First But Al Wilson Killed It 💯💯🔥🔥🔥
I searched for this song just now and lucked up and you had reacted to it! Me and my brother used to sing this one with gusto! But he just sings it so good. I didn't know it was gonna be covered. But thank you!
Thanks for saying"THIS BROTHER and not this"N"young brother keep it up, all the young African AMERICANS should hear you speak keep it up God bless you.
What an awesome reaction! I remember playing this song at a 1993 summer party and it was an immediate hit. The song was about 20 years old at that time. The younger kids really liked listening to it. Thank you for the great choice and for being the first one to react to it!
Love how the sample hit you. Crazy how younger generation folks often have no idea where the music came from behind what they are listening to. One time a coworker was listening to Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby” and I played Bowie & Queen’s “Under Pressure” for her because she had never heard of it.
This is a song my parents played to death when i was a child....i hated the song when i was a kid but as i grew older i learned to appreciate this song.....this was a big hit back in the day
Show and Tell came out just 8 months after Billy Paul's 'Me and Mrs Jones' how competitive was that ! Early 70s was non-stop GREAT music/music' I was 13
I was thinking that before I heard you say it! What a blessing it is to still be able to hear his voice. As soon as the familiar tune plays my heart beats faster in anticipation of hearing his voice. I've loved this song ever since I first heard it as a kid in the 70s. Still sending love his way... 🎶💜🌌
I was blessed to grow up with the best music ever... the seventies was the best soul music ever.... go check out “ my eyes adored you” by Frankie Valli, “Wildflower” by Skylark... Kiss and say goodbye by the Manhattens
Yo, your reaction was priceless! ‘No way, no way......😂’. The hand drums are congas, much larger than bingos which are much more higher pitched. I’m really an o.g. @ this point, so I did grow up with this, like between middle & high school. I felt like a big influence on him had to be Johnny Mathis, who is even from a previous generation, but still recorded & performed into the ‘80’s. Somethin about the vibrato & crisp delivery of his notes, certain words, etc. You can hear Johnny on the theme song for ‘80’s sitcom, Family Ties (not Matters), with fellow quick vibrato artist, Denise Nicholas. They also recorded, Too Much, Too Little, Too Late, I believe in the ‘80’s. I only recall this song by Al Wilson, not even sure what his other work might sound like.
Jam right here ♥ How about I was only 10, Back in our day we had "Grown Folks Music" 24/7 LOL and you are smart J.J. lol It is what it is▬►You have a good ear for music. I'm the same way so glad I grew up when I did.
This is a good song but I will NEVER get an image out of my head. I walked into the garage one night and caught my aunt and uncle butt ass naked getting busy in the car...windows fogged up and this song playing on the radio!!! LMAO
JJ, other great soul/r&b songs- Billy Paul "Me And Mrs Jones", Barry White "You're The First ,The Last, My Everything", "Never Gonna Give You Up" and Lou Rawls "You'll Never Find"
This song is interesting because as a 2nd grader it’s memories for me probably don’t have anything to do with the music. However the song was a massive hit and you could hear it everywhere. The big memory for me though was the album cover(for us 50+) had elements of Blaxploitation era pimp/player vibe😎✊🏾
The drums you’re tryin to name are called, ‘congas,. Could hear them on a lot of Marvin’s songs from the What’s Goin On era, but are also a main part of Latin music. Maybe you’ve heard Miami Sound Machine with Gloria Estefan do a song called, ‘Conga!’.
I have temporarily subscribed. There are a lot of "first time hearing" channels, so I will give yours a chance. You provide additional information that others don't, so you caught my interest. I admit though, that I will eventually tire of these types of channels.
There's definitely a small handful that's definitely reviewed this at least three or four others beside you that I know of but then I don't know everybody that's ever reviewed a song there's too many of you but I know that show and tell was a big song back in the seventies I noticed on the chart it was only about number 70 but it played a lot on the radio it was one of my favorite songs back in the day when it was being played I like Al Wilson he was a good boy so I wish he'd had way more music to listen to cuz I thought he had a great voice.
Hi JJ, I love synchronicity... I heard this song just yesterday and was thinking of you and hoping you would react to it someday knowing that you would appreciate it. Always a favorite of mine. - Brooklyn Mike
There you go!! Classic karaoke' song ....only for those who can handle!! A MAN's voice!! What happened to musicians after the 70s and 80s?! No creativity to make their music? Melody?
One of the greatest oldies ever!! Not to impugn the efforts of many of today's musicians . . . BUT THEY CANNOT MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS ANY MORE!
Its been made it can just be duplcated. Sad huh? Im glad I heard it when it happend.
"BUT THEY CANNOT MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS ANY MORE!" I would like to prove you wrong but I cant!
Poor 😊pppp😊😊😊plus you 😊please be happy for the people that have come and done the job you did and have been 😊😊😊😊
I used to date Al Wilson's daughter when I was in high school. She was a beautiful girl and this song by her father brings back great memories.
Wow!
U know where she is now?
Did you ever meet Al?
@@hip-hopfan9153 No I didn't. She lived with her mother who wasn't with Al anymore.

His voice control is unique and very controlled. One talented dude!

Al Wilson"Show and Tell",no one could touch this one.It was all over the radio at that time and onward.Love it.
So JJ, this is a commercially underrated song, but with Soul and R&B fans, it's "Double Platinum"! Peace!
Got that right!!

That brought me back to my childhood. Beautiful song, beautiful voice.
This song gets into your soul and it’s Amazing.
This song was one of those can't miss gems from the 70's. This song was reacted to by another reactor about a couple of months ago. I requested it.
You got a good ear and i believe that is one reason i love your reactions

This was certainly one of the greatest songs of the 70s! Timeless!
Al Wilson did it first. That's the oldies coming back in style.
This jam is so Sensual and Peaceful! ReAl music 🎶
