I thought he came across as being shocked that she turned him down at the alter and he tried to save face by reacting the way he did. He may have been relieved in some regards, but I think his pride was wounded most of all.

Have y’all seen the reunion special? Shake is insufferable! It was so interesting to see the entire cast reacting to him so negatively. Besides speaking so terribly about Queen Deepti I was surprised to see his level of narcissism and complete lack of social awareness.
I think part of it as well is he’s just super embarrassed so now he’s really playing this character making out like he doesn’t care but you can see he’s hurt in the reunion special when people call him out 🤣

I was disgusted by Shake. If they agreed to say no together why was he still talking about her after the fact. He was saying he was relieved and knew it wouldn’t work. @Linda Lowther on the reunion Deepti said they had agreed to both say no to getting married. If they allowed that statement to be on TV then I guess it’s not against the rules of the experiment. It also makes you wonder how much is scripted and how much is reality.

You're being completely oblivious to the fact she was infatuated. If you ever tried the sensation if limerence (being "in love") you'd know that you rationalize every mistake. She probably said to herself "They don't know him like I do", "He is just growing as a person and learning" etc., it's so easy to project your own maturity on to someone you care about
I think she was interested in the fact that they share similar culture and interest in dating western people. He also said he was fat and all that admitting he has some demons in him from his past life trauma. This indicated to her he is self aware of his own struggles. Not only that he said he is sorry for coming off shallow in the beginning as they were talking.
Although that hun being shallow is a red flag, she saw he is self aware of his struggles and apologised for his arrogance. This made him appear better and confident so she wanted to give him a go.
First time they met in physical he said she was beautiful and grabbed her physical body showing physical attraction making her like him more. But his demon come up again during their honey moon and he had to go back to his past life trauma of him not feeling validated by dating her who’s Indian bringing more of his Indian side.
She wanted to be married so bad that she ignored all the red flags. I'm sure that wasn't the only thing he said that would have made her see he wasn't her match before this. She just wanted so despately to be loved. She was just as much too blame for all of this. I think that if she would have stopped chasing h and forcing the relationship the first time he rejected her and made it obvious he wasn't into her then the rest of us watching would have been more understanding. She chose to be blind to the obvious -there was no chemistry, because the reality of the lack of connection was too hard to accept so early on. Shake knew from the second date there was no chemistry and he respected Deepti enough not to fake it and force it. She didn't respect herself enough to also face the reality that there wasn't any chemistry.
I think deepti did the best thing when she left... I mean let's face it, shake isn't an attractive person and he i can understand he couldn't get past that Deepti wasn't his type just like there women who only date men who are thier type... I think it's how he expressed it, the words he used, and he did it behind her back... Look at what Natalie said in the reunion, that what he said regarding Deepti's look that was broadcasted on the show was a mellow down of the things he said behind her back so god knows what else he said. I can get it if he would have done it in a respectful manner.

Fortune favors those who make the brave choices
It's obvious the producers set-up situations and allowed others to continue that fed drama, in the end Nick, Vanessa, and the producers are interested in the shows popularity, not the "experiment". Examples:
1. It was clear with the first few interactions Shake had with the ladies he was focused on physical qualities, yet the producers allowed him to continue on the show, why, to feed drama.
2. The show purposely sent Shaina to meet with Shayne in the pod when he planned to propose to Natalie, why, drama.
3. Deepti clearly new she wasn't going to say yes at the wedding (she said the girls and guys told her about Shake's comments and "warned her",
(deepti's words at the reunion), yet Deepti continued on the show knowing she would say no, why, drama.
4. Immediately after accepting Kyle's proposal Shaina was interviewed and said she wondered if she did the wrong thing because she couldn't stop thinking about Shayne, why, drama
5. Shaina was kept on the show and allowed to participate in the picnic reunion where she blatantly tried to sabotage Shayne and Natalie's relationship, why, drama.
6. Shaina is on camera multiple times saying she just can't stop thinking about Shayne, even immediately after she walked out in the night during the honeymoon and after breaking it off in Chicago, yet, no one told Kyle, allowing him to chase her and embarrass himself, why, drama.
7. During the reunion Vanessa was completely unprofessional with her comments and attitude toward Shake, yes she's not a fit for the show, but you new and allowed it to continue, then berated him for being himself, then when Shayne clearly stated he didn't want to talk about his interactions with Shaina post show, you and Nick pushed ahead asking for details, just to create drama.
8. None of the participants were perfect, they're not supposed to be, yet Nick and Vanessa clearly picked favorites and talked down to others,
Unprofessional and should apologize.
Season 1 seemed believable, season 2 was obviously manipulated to feed drama. Now they're driving a new show which can only fuel more drama. I feel sorry for all the participants of season 2 and the new show (assuming they aren't in on it, they may be).
I agree 💯. I didn’t like how Nick and Vanessa joined in with everyone ganging up on Shake. We all knew he was a POS and none of the couples were memorable so they needed him around for drama.

If you watched the reunion, even Deepti says it’s fine if someone is not attracted. That is most humans and there is a certain level of physical attraction wanted. However he did not need to say such obscure things at every given moment. He should of just said “not attracted” and that’s it. He did seem like he really cared for deepti and wanted it to work. He just doesn’t have good communication to express himself.
Omg exactly if one of the women chose a man 10 inches shorter than them they would’ve been the same way and going to talk about it to others bc they feel bad. No one is entitled to be attracted to someone else and it’s an experiment he tried to get to that physical level but he couldn’t and really I think it’s how she was throwing herself at him. Its interesting how Shake said he has in the past avoided indian women and His culture. I feel like he has idolised blonde women to the point where he cannot shake that image of only being with them. First of all, kudos to Deepti for choosing herself.
But I’m also amazed at how Shake is too outright transparent on a national TV. To us, Deepti is a goddess but to him, she wasn’t.. and that’s alright, the only problem was how he put it. Also he could have not led it on. That’s all.

Funny how I hated Shake in the beginning and ended up adoring him by the end when everybody attacked him.
It’s also funny how every single thing he says on the reunion, is exactly what I was thinking secretly. Everybody else was indeed fake. The Indian girl on the other hand came there only for the show, to promote herself, how much do you wanna bet. She even look like Me-gain Markle. She kept calling Shake a narcissist, but in fact I found more of narcissistic personality traits in her than in Shake. She’s fake as fuck and extremely manipulative.
Shake is in my eyes has that innocence, purity, who doesn’t know how to sugar coat things and is very honest about his opinion, he doesn’t care what other people think of him, he puts himself out there.
Believe me when I say this, I started off by hating Shake, just like you. But the reunion changed my opinion of him.

Shake was keeping it real he was always being himself on the show and at the reunion and he calls it like it is . Shake problem is he actually says it and society can’t handle it. Love is blurry that’s the funniest thing he said in the reunion . The hosts were biased and let Danielle crazy drama slide but made Iyana admit she had sex in Mexico . I didn’t see the hosts press any other like that. It was Deepti who should of called him out since the pods but she kept playing his game as well. Why do women get a free pass and not take accountability for being a doormat. The guy will go as far as you let him . The same with salvador he let himself be gaslighted by Mallory and even apologized to her interaction with Jared. Don’t get me started with Iyana. That girl will always feel she’s second choice. Why did she get married? She will always feel second best because she chose a man that wanted someone else. And in the reunion Iyana called shake a narcissist when did girlfriend become a psychiatrist?? She should of called out Jared and Mallory . She gave Mallory a free pass and married the wrong guy who’s probably worst than shake but knows how to cover himself says less outrageous things to save face. And Natalie was a bully to shane . Deepti took being physically rejected by Shake hard, she wanted him to be all-in with her look, but he just wasn't and to be honest I think his honesty saved them both a terrible mistake because he would have struggled with bedroom life. I think her sudden rebuttal of Shake at the alter was motivated out of fear of open rejection, and wanting to "save face" in front of the world. What Deepti didn't realise is that Shake was willing to look past his immediate desire for the physical connection and place a higher value on the gamble that all other parameters would outweigh the negative, and they may have. She will never know. It is a fact that as couples grow older the physical architecture of a relationship changes immensely, and other parameters take precedence, I feel they were an incredible match in every other aspect. In Indian culture they also have traditions where the bride and groom are matched by parents, and expected to grow together.

Coming from a multi-racial country and of a minorty race, I always try to see the good in others and stay low-key and humble but... but... I really can't find anything good in Shake. The level of ego he has is over the charts. Oh well, he's compensating his lackness (in the looks department) with his ego, i guess. He's trying too hard to prove himself when he talked about everyone beiing fake but he didn't realise that he's doing it the wrong way.

He is not required to cry or get overly emotional it's not he wasn't sad it was the fact that he didn't want to feed off of that negative emotion and instead he turned it into a positive by accepting it and moved on. That's the emotional healthy way to do it.

As an indian women, sometimes are faces are lighter than our bodies, maybe that’s why it appears that way. She even wears Indian earrings with her dresses, so yeah I really don’t think she is ashamed or hiding her culture
