I work as a PO in one of the large PSUs. Including house rent and all allowances the starting salary is more than 1 lakh. I left state government job for joining IBPS PO as salary is double. Moreover work pressure is there but it is not so much. For middle class people like us this job with so many facilities is like a blessing from god.

I have 2 friends. Both of them are bankers. One of them enjoys being banker and working all day in a bank but the other one is always in search of an excuse to quit the job, she feels bored and pressurized. She is doing the job forcefully because of financial needs. So it depends from person to person. Some may love the job and some may not.

The banking sector has changed hell lot after digitisation of banking. Before this bank used to close almost before 6pm like govt bodies. Because of this reason bank employees able to do their job no matter whether they made for it or not, because it was so white collared one. Only transfers were hard for them then. But now i.e, after computerisation I think large part of the banking sector itself doesn't have any clue that what they are doing and what they are up to I guess. Moreover, the rigorous laborious schedule of the banking neither seem to be aiming towards customer welfare nor working as a pure business entity.
However, this training idea is bit contradicting in itself. Training and preparing aspirants to a sector where you don't want to be. It's rather be called as fulfilling the demand than mentoring and mind setting the bank job passionate ones.

They may have some great reasons for it, but it screws life of the employee and their services sucks for the local customers, as they cannot speak local languages. I just saw her once when I visited the bank. One thing I have noticed among metropolitan cities living people they feel down graded themselves when they have to move to small towns. Even those who are living slum like environment in metro cities but they never would like to go to small cities.

I just want to get a job after my graduation from BSc in Computer Sci since when I tried my best for IIT JEE exam I wasn't able to get a seat in those national Engineering institutes and my parents lost the financial power to pay for my VIT Vellore CSE seat which cost me Rs. 16 lakh. Luckily, thanks to some famous & trusted sites I'm happily studying with my majors in Maths/Phys/Comp Sci. I want to have my masters from NIT Trichy in MSc in Computer Sci since they have chances for their PGs to get a job in the FAANG companies and also will boost my prep for GATE CSE for a seat in the top 7 IITs. SBI PO/IBPS PO/RBI PO/LIC etc. can reduce the stress my father is absorbing & I can start to access more quality mentor packs for my preparation up to the GATE CS for Mtech at IIT BOMBAY other IITs or the famous IISC Bengaluru.
Gonna never give up for my TITLE to be an ENGINEER for life... and then I will study more for PhD...

Don't be this much ignorant or deceive people if you were also a banker. What is this damad attitude? Things were different comparatively in your 2014 times.. now a days this bank po job should not be called a job.. it's a bonded labour.. there is only 20-30% staff against the staff requirements. How will you survive? There is no compliments from management for your customers dealing/services. Management only want business cross selling of mutual fund nps credit cards etc. Bank po job is now purely a marketing salesman job. You alone will have to do entire work of 4-5 staff because there is acute staff shortage but they want you to complete each Target anyhow otherwise you will be embarrassed by them in front of so many officials in vc review meetings .
