Billie: "You have a phone in your car?"
    Rossi: "No"
Me from the future in the backseat: "I have a phone in my pocket, I can tell you the weather, I can get you the fastest route to the airport, take pictures and video (don't tell Animal), you can even type out your story with artwork and email it to the paper"
    Rossi and Billie: 🤨

This video reminded me of my sadness when this show was cancelled. I sometimes wonder what a contemporary version of "Lou Grant" or any kind of newspaper series set in this digital era would be like.

Which means no more pay phones.. Now when someone doesn't have a phone or the charge dies, they ask a complete stranger to use their phone; and who wants to hand their phone over to anyone else, let alone a stranger..

So glad they made Mrs P more Vibrant in later episodes. She's made up in this one to look 'old', washed out, when Lou first meets her she's cantankerous & doddery but as the series goes on they lighten her up, give her more energy. She's still cantankerous but with more brio!

My parents must have watched this show when I was younger. I remember the opening sequence and thought Lou Grant was a teacher getting mad at a student about a report he wrote and then Billie was a teachers pet 😂

ok. That's it. I'm 'Billied' out, just as I was when the show first aired. Were there only a handful of episodes that delivered the hard-heating newsroom, and a tough City Desk Editor, after all.

The reporter that was tailing Billiossi downs 3 beers and then is going to drive. The 70s folks.
    Billie + Rossi = Billiossi
Also, Billie goes out to get his keys, looks like it's about 12PM or so (shadows are almost vertical like the Sun is overhead).
They run out just a few mins later and the Sun is way west, late afternoon (6:43PM or so) 😂

He probably had one. Wasn't really affordable tech available for a tv show to hide it. Not something you'd notice during the scene, but probably not a good choice to use that to run credits over.

There are a number of daytime actors over the years who have appeared on lou grant. The character of Zane. From another world. One of the actors who played larry on one life to live. . Roger from guiding light. Even main character actress Nancy Marchand appeared on both another world as a friend of iris. And I think she also did one life to live. The list just goes. On and on and on it just goes to show that even till this day it doesn't matter if it's a show from the 1970s or the 2000s slot of t.v shows and movies big and small screens would rather hire soap actors then these no talent wwe wrestlers or these in talented. Hip hop rap artist. It's no coincidence. If I was making a movie or a t.v show who do you think i would cast. Obviously it would be a past or present daytime soap star. Instead of a bunch of. Half naked idiots fighting in the ring or a bunch of dudes. Trying to sing rap lyrics that you cant even understand .
