The squirrel one was from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, as well as the original book. The film they're thinking of is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which is the first film and has more changes from the book than CCF. WWCF changed it from squirrels to golden goose eggs because they could at least get real geese to sit still for 40 minutes to film the scene.
All this time I never realised the first was called Willy Wonka, and I never watched the johhny depp one so thought duncan was mad with the squirrel thing.
@@Seruphin honestly not a big fan of the Johnny Depp vesion, they kind of made Wonka look like a stereotypical pedophile. the origianl used geese partly for the reason of getting something that will sit still for the film and CGI was not a thing in the sense of anywhere close to what it is today.
Man, this episode. Duncan jumps off a bridge, falls into the river, eats a weird mushroom to survive and hallucinates growing huge and fighting a zombie. Meanwhile drunk Zylus gets run over by a car.
That opening has me dying! The roast of the century coming from Shadow. Also Nilsey calling Duncan an idiot to just admit to being an impersonator a few seconds later. These kind of moments are why I continue to watch these guys!
I occasionally go and rewatch that Charlie & the Chocolate Factory episode, the near universal detestation of Grandpa Joe (Rot in Pain) and Zoey's bewilderment are a salve for the soul.
There's a fan theory that Charlie was the worse person to take over Wonka's factory. Violet, however, might have been the perfect choice as she's shown the ability to delay gratification in not chewing gum while trying to get the golden ticket, is very knowledgeable about sweets, and, despite eating the dinner gum, described every detail of the process as it happened to her.
Duncan was right. In the book Varuca Salt was taken away by squirrels who were doing nut quality control, there were no geese. She was a bad nut, not a bed egg.
Very pleased Zoey remembered the Grandpa Joe chat too 😂😂 Also the weird squirrel shit is from the shite Johnny Depp version, that girl goes down the impure golden egg shute in the original, but a rotten nut shute in the remake.
The squirrel one was from the book as well, the first film changed it to golden goose eggs because they could at least get real geese to sit still for 40 minutes to film the seen.
The Johnny Depp version is a good movie and I'll die on that hill. It did something different and took a new tone/focus that made it unique to the original. Remakes shouldn't be one to one recreations, but reimaginings that try something new while keeping in line with the original. Also apparently the author of the original book like the Depp version more.
@@Cheshire_Cat137 Roald Dahl (the author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) died in 1990, 15 years before the Depp version released. I'm sure he loved it, though.
i think it would be funny as hell as you change the poison to ONLY work on the one that has it, can't do it to others so when Zylas tries to poison someone he gets it himself
I actually have a clip from the episode where Charlie and the Chocolate Factory gets brought up. It's of Zoey getting pushed into the ocean as an old man!
17:47 I love that Ben was using his dead time to fact check Duncan for the sake of the podcast, and it's icing on the cake that Duncan turned out to be right!
Veruca Salt is killed by the squirrels in the novel. In the movie, it's a golden goose/eggs or some shit. Duncan apparently recalls the novel though, because there is a room that the squirrels sort the "good" nuts from the "bad" nuts. Veruca demands from her father one of the squirrels as a pet, and when Wonka tells her father no, she has a temper tantrum. The squirrels then try to break open her skull and dispose of the "bad nut".
I'm loving these pre rounds that go into the actual episode! I love how crazy these episodes have been! I do remember the 2021 episode! "You're not my peers, you're like 50!" SHADOW STOP THEYRE ALREADY DEAD! LMAOOOOOO Zylus just is poisoning everyone at this point. LOL!! 6:39 "Duncan, I want you to take that personally." - Nilsey. "I can drive the train!" - Duncan. LMAO
I rewatch old TTT episodes all the time (they are great for background noise while chilling). And I have seen that episode recently with Old Man Lewis. So when Zoey said it had been a few years, and the editor showed the date, I was legit confused. I remember watching that episode premiere... And so many others. Oh God, am I one of the old people that Shadow was talking about!?!?
"what if they were impersonating an impersonator"... Why does that sound like such a good idea. Like have a glitch variant that is a deputy however it will still show impersonator to the traitors. Drawback would be you couldn't have a real deputy since that would basically be 2 deputys. Might work with an impersonator on the traitor team however it would give the glitch away if the impersonator saw a glitch with the impersonator symbol above their head.
There are times..... when I think that Lewis is a bit of a square. But now I see that the longer and longer that he's in Japan, the more unhinged the group gets in his absence. He's a grounding force that keeps them together. He's the glue. Without him, it all falls apart. Also, Zylus... at a certain point, the level of trolling you are doing changing it from "RDM" to "self-defense" or "justifiable-outro".
Nilesy is just pressuring EVERYONE to do an intro. Can't wait till we hear him pressure Lewis to do an intro
Nah Lewis is too hip for intros first he will have to pressure sound board lewis
Nilesy is just funny guy😂
We miss lewis when he isn't here..
Yet NO ONE ever pressures anyone to do an outro. 🤔
Nilesy ruins yogscast
"you're not my peers you're like 50!" I'M DYING DX
Nilsey calling Duncan an idiot to just admit to being an impersonator is also an honorable mention.
I should have expected that much shade from Shadow.
Destroyed😂
“Where is she, I’m gonna Fking kill her” is the Zylus response I subscribe for
This is the one, this is the comment...
Ben: "That one is getting cut for sure."
Editor: "Don't tell me what to do."
I was 100% expecting a text message like that to actually pop up when he said that.
My favorite intros are the messy ones...
"I saved myself with this mushroom I found in the river"
an excerpt from the biography of Duncan.
"You're not my peers you're like 50" **DAMN!**

Yes. Bad nut to bad egg, is also a fairly natural change.
clearly they should’ve invited you to the podcast
Duncan says "they took her to squirrel world" when really they went down the garbage chute to the incinerator.
All this time I never realised the first was called Willy Wonka, and I never watched the johhny depp one so thought duncan was mad with the squirrel thing.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Podcast callback from Zoey was INSANE
And it was such a good episode too!
Good on the editors to edit that clip in
I can’t believe it was that long ago! Unless I rewatched it recently it didn’t feel like that long ago!
The absolute memory on that woman geez
I immediately knew what Zoey was referencing, I was dead from laughter instantly
7:35 Ben dying and shouting pog is peak comedy.
Tis needs to be on Duncan's soundboard as a response to when he does his dead noise 😂
Zoey has been haunted by the CCF podcast for 20 months
Man, this episode. Duncan jumps off a bridge, falls into the river, eats a weird mushroom to survive and hallucinates growing huge and fighting a zombie.
Meanwhile drunk Zylus gets run over by a car.
Not bad for a day in the life of a dog food company
I love the irony of the Drunk being the victim of a hit and run.
You missed the opportunity to say, “Tonight of Top Gear…”
Just another average day in terrorist town
I heard peer pressure often turns to bullying, but i never thought of who became the victim before now
That opening has me dying! The roast of the century coming from Shadow. Also Nilsey calling Duncan an idiot to just admit to being an impersonator a few seconds later. These kind of moments are why I continue to watch these guys!
Thirty seconds in and we're already witnessing the Yogscast get incinerated.
Incinerated? They got hit with all 7 Halo ring's and The Snap
Always love seeing a new episode of the TTTCCFPC.
Can't wait for the TTT mods to create a randomat where everyone has only poison potions with unlimited charges and call it like "Toxic Relations"
When Zoey mentioned the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Podcast, I was like "oh yeah! that was just a few months ago!" Then they showed the date...
Same
"Did someone just rewind Zylus on a cassette tape?" got me so good!
When being peer pressured just bring out the age card.
Nilsey is super funny, I'm really glad that he is part of the TTT crew now.
Two years ago since the original chocolate factory discussion? Im surprised Zoey remembered
I can't even remember the video and I just watched it a couple weeks ago now I'm having issues finding it again 😢

what's the episode callee

Shadow’s closing “no thank you” really got me 😂😂😂😂
Clearly not into old people.
Man Nilesy is so good in these he fits in so well!! It's so lovely to see him back with the other yogs 🤩
Shadow from the top rope lays an elbow down on EVERYONE!
The intro roast can't apply to Zoey bc she remembered a recording from nearly 2 years ago, whereas most Yogs completely purge their memories each week
Everyone talks about Grandpa Joe jumping out of bed. No one talks about how lewdly he licks the candy wallpaper.
Full respect to Zoey. I DO rememeber the initial episode she was referring to, and I laughed and groaned at the same time.

everyone was so full of beans for this recording and I LOVE IT
Zylus and his 100% poison winrate.
I really hope he continues to do it so they get a good reason to kill him every round.
@@ZuperZombiezlayerI hope he does it to a jester or swapper one time. Or better yet does it as a swapper to every player so he can never swap out.
@@Scnottaken I don't think the pink roles do damage with poison
@@ZedByt exactly. He'd swap with someone and do damage to the swapper at 1 health and immediately swap back
Damn Shadow that opening burn was legendary. One for the history books.
"grandpa joe is the real villain" Pepridge farm remembers
Zylas trying to get poison justice to be a thing so hard. LOL
So this is what my Grandparents get up to in the retirement home
Duncan was right. In the book Varuca Salt was taken away by squirrels who were doing nut quality control, there were no geese. She was a bad nut, not a bed egg.
It was in the remake too, which is probably what he’s thinking of.
This has been a superb group.
that call back from Zoey was amazing, absolutely brilliant
As a Canadian in my mid 20s, I love shadow and I hope to see more of her in these videos again
Zoey the Master of delightfully obscure but relevant callbacks

We've never forgotten, Zoey. CCF PC is the stuff of legends XD
"You're not my peers, you're like, 50!" F'ing ouch! I felt that all the way here in Oregon.
Shadow saying "no thank you" at the end perfect answer
the laughing at just “pog” :) its crazy how much they laugh. I hope its genuine and they dont feel like they have to act it up a ton
Zylus needs a new skin where Kermit is a poison dart frog
"November 23rd"
Ah yeah I remember that episode has it really been that long?
"2021.."
Ooh
The possibility of the CCF Pod returning is the sole reason Zoey has been in recordings
Shadow roasting the entire yogscast right at the start, but especially sips. Trouble in the over 40 club town, roasted by shadow.
i think it would be funny as hell as you change the poison to ONLY work on the one that has it, can't do it to others so when Zylas tries to poison someone he gets it himself
I knew the exact episode Zoey was referring. Also, it looks like Zylus is trying to become the "troll" player.
At 9:46 in, the round has 9:46 left to go. Majestic.
At first I didn't know what Zoey was talking about, but thanks to the editor I unlocked a deeply buried memory
The way Duncan said "Why did i die?" at 5:38 tickles me.
12:00 what an amazing callback 😂
I actually remembered the CatCF chat Zoey was referring to *before* the editors added the reminder clip in.
Long memory solidarity.
Memories flashed when they showed the clips
"DON'T MAKE ME DO IT" and then Shadow murdered the whole cast with one sentence
Zylus's giggling always brightens my day
I actually watched the other CCFPC episode earlier this week. Great timing on reviving that!
"your not my peers you're like 50" never heard of a burn that bad before lmao
I've been waiting for episode 2 of the chocolate factory podcast for FOREVER! So glad they finally released it!

Gosh even without the cut to that clip, I vividly remember the Chocolate Factory discussion. It felt like a fever dream
the tiny "you didnt bring me a gun" achievement message on ben's screen killed me
love that callback and edit lol
i just noticed that kirsty's model has x for eyes when she dies and then goes back to normal when she is brought back alive

I'm glad to see the Grandpa Joe hate return on the CCFcast. The last episode really didn't feel that long ago.
I think about the original CCF episode and its numerous CCF monologues more often than I probably should
I was really hoping that the thing brought back for this episode was duncan's Robin impression
Death memes should be a permanent addition
The fact Zylus poisoned the Traitors so often, I feel like the new shirt would have either the detective Kermit put in, and/or with the 100%.
